I finally had to stop in this place to see for myself why this small restaurant next to a gas station was receiving 5 Star reviews. I went in at lunchtime, and it was very busy. Definitely a popular place. I noticed many construction workers but also several families with kids. The menu was fairly simple: burgers, sandwiches, burritos, chili, salad. Customers line up at the counter to place their orders. There were several cheese options for the sandwiches and burritos. There was an extensive breakfast menu. I would probably return for breakfast, but I wasn't overly impressed with the burrito I ordered for lunch. When I ordered a burrito, and was asked what I wanted on the burrito I started with asking for beans and rice. That request earned a rather puzzled look from the employee, and he said they didn't have beans. I guess I had just assumed that if they had burritos on the menu they would have beans and rice to put in them. So I just requested cheese and chopped tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, salsa, and chipotle sauce. The burrito was fine. The food quality was average to slightly below average. For example, an employee opened a large bag of shredded lettuce in front of me and dumped it into the bin. I'm guessing other ingredients were prepackaged and pre prepped. Employees were friendly and obviously this place is a local favorite. Prices are very reasonable. I would give it another try for breakfast but wouldn't order another burrito. read more

Amazing subs compared to Subway. I go back every time I'm working in Richmond. They have a better selection than Subway.

My low carb/ pre-diabetic folks: this place is for you. They make their own "cloud" bread which is low carb, you just have to request it. I found this out after I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no bun. My burger was cooked perfectly, bacon crisp and they let you choose your toppings like subway. It shares a location with Shell. There is sometimes a line at lunch, but it moves quickly. They serve up a great breakfast, so they offer breakfast sandwiches or lunch on the cloud bread. I have also called ahead and they have had an omelette waiting for me when I got there at the drive-through window which was fabulous, it is right off of the interstate so you could totally call ahead and this could be a super quick stop. read more

I had real high hopes for Toasted. The ambiance is great, the servers friendly, the food is only very average though. I have been a few times now, and have been generally disappointed. The salad I ate was largely lettuce with a few things thrown on for good behaviour; the avocado toast was a thin layer of avocado paste with a couple of bits of bacon and sundried tomatoes, accompanied by some overly dressed salad greens. Fried potatoes, overly greasy and tasteless. I think the concept of this place is great, however the quality of the food needs to improve. read more

Loved it! When you walk in and the line doubles over with construction workers, it's going to be good. The walking taco with beef is pretty good. They do need bigger forks! Blt looked great and the toasted subs looked good too. Sorry I'm just passing through. read more

We stopped in for breakfast and almost didn't stay. It's attached to a gas station and caters mostly to carry out orders. The girls in there were friendly and made the regular customers coming in for carry out start their day out on a good note. We were the only sit down customers, but they had steady flow in and out while we were there. We both had the platters which included two made to order eggs, diced potatoes and a choice of meat with choice of b&g, French toast or pancakes! Everything was tasty and the portions were more than satisfying. The bacon was crispy, tasty and lots of it. Sausage gravy was good (and we are picky growing up on farm cooking). Came here based on the reviews and it's definitely a trusted busy local place that has delicious great food and very affordable prices.

Little out-of-the-way cafe. My husband went there on a lark to pick up breakfast. We were pleased with what we got. There was enough for two meals. I had the french toast and it was very good. The sausage links were succulent, eggs were good, potatoes too. Hubby said the staff were real friendly hillbillies. I'd call them country folks, lol! We brought home two burritos for dinner. They were huge. Next time we are in town during lunch we will try them. Interior was cute modern. Need to eat outside when the weather cools down. read more

Cute place in the side of a gas station. Very friendly and proud of what they do, staff. Portions are large and price is according. I had a sausage and bacon burrito and sausage gravy. The burrito could have fed two people. The gravy was a little flavorless for me but this will be a go to for me whenever I am around. read more

Great, very casual breakfast and lunch place. Breakfast sandwiches are really good, but I saw all the locals ordering the breakfast burritos. Came here a couple times for breakfast, and also for lunch. Grilled sandwiches are good, as well as the burgers. I love the variety here! They have a decent menu and are usually friendly! The daily specials are always so good and I love the bacon egg and cheese bagel! I really wish they had another location or a drive thru for ease. They really deserve a new location with more sitting room or a drive thru! Good, real food. Not the plastic food of the chains along I-70. Nice people even though it was busy and all food was made to order. We ate inside at one of about 1/2 dozen small tables. They also had 3 outside tables. Ambiance was local and very casual. So glad we stopped here. Had the pancakes which were flavorful, a really yummy potato, egg and cheese breakfast burrito (design your own) and an order of biscuits and gravy with a side of scrambled eggs for our crew. All of it hit the spot for a long road trip breakfast to last us most of the day. They seem to be closely affiliated with the Shell gas station they are attached to so you can get coffee and soda from either place. Enjoy this little find :) read more
