I didn't really know what to expect here. The Connersville location had a buffet of sorts the night I was there with friends and the food was, well, safe is all that I can say about it really. I wanted something a bit different today, and their Mancino's Pride is definitely different for pizza. It includes Pepperoni, Ham, Sausage, Mushroom, Green Peppers, Onions, Black Olives, and Mozzarella cheese. The 8 inch was $6.19, which is really inexpensive. (Although, I didn't have the decimal point, so it really was expensive in my review!) Combined with a large drink and tax, it came to $8.75, which is quite a bit under $10.00 still. I wasn't prepared for how deep it was. The crust was rather thin underneath the pile of ingredients. It had a good flavor. Three small things bothered me, though: the crust tasted burnt along the outer ring, and because the cheese is on top, the ingredients pull away from the sauce and crust to stay with the cheese, plus they need to drain the liquid. By the time I got to the third piece, the crust was soaked with liquid from the vegetables, I suppose. It wasn't terribly greasy. I liked the taste and that's the most important thing, but it would have been a much better experience if those few things had not been present. I hope that their sandwiches are as good. Everyone there was friendly and helpful, although I had to ask for napkins. The same person who brought the pizza made an extra trip to bring them to me. They have a lot of Richmond High School on the walls, which is consistent with what they did in Connersville and in Muncie. They had 3 TVs in the place, each on a different channel. I was surprised to see ESPN doing physics math!

Best taco pizza ever. And I consider myself a connoisseur on the subject. Breadsticks are better than Pizza King. Will soon be a regular.

The pizza has went downhill, but the grinders are still pretty good. It is more like a 3.5 stars, and just stay away from the pizza!

PROS: -decent sized space between tables and hi-tops…read morethroughout dining area, a large wrap-around bar, a sun-room-esque space of the northeast corner, and an outdoor patio area -extensive menu of variety that includes sandwiches, pizza, and mexican -server was friendly and efficient throughout our meal experience -Texas Twist Pretzel ($15.95) filled out what would typically be used for a 12-14" pizza and had the height of a deep dish. Nice crunchy and salty exterior with a soft bread interior. You may select 3 from their 4 sauce offerings for dipping. We chose the beer cheese, nacho cheese, and brew pub mustard. Mustard was sweet, which was OK, but we were hoping for something leaning more into the spicy zone. The four of us ate maybe 2/3rds of it before our meals arrived. Very different from anywhere else I have seen and would definitely consider again. -Wife and I shared a 12" Veggie Pizza ($19.95 on menu, but noticed we were charged $9.25 on receipt) that looks like a Pizza King pizza, but is much heavier. It was generously loaded with cheese in addition to mushroom, onion, green pepper, and olive. We ate a little more than half of it. Absolutely would consider ordering this again. -Father-in-law ordered the Fish Sandwich (12.95), which is advertised as an 8" filet served on a hoagie bun. It looked all of that size when it came out and he seemed to enjoy it. He took half of it home. CONS: -Acoustics in the main dining area can make it difficult to have a conversation at your table. -Father-in-law asked if we could eat in the sun-room space, due to his hearing aids, but he was told it was reserved for 4 hours later that afternoon, so we were seated in the main area. (Discouraged as we saw a family seated in the sun-room space an hour later after the main area had mostly filled.) -[*I didn't learn about most of this until afterwards, otherwise I probably would have said something.]. Daughter ordered the Chicken Wrap Dinner Special ($10.95), which can be ordered grilled or breaded (she ordered grilled), came with cheddar cheese, shaken in choice of sauce (she ordered buffalo), and is served with fresh chips and cole slaw. The cole slaw is mayo-based instead of vinegar as she was hoping. Her chips, while to their credit were freshly made, were not completely finished as several of them were still raw. She said there was no buffalo flavor to her chicken and it just tasted blah. On top of that, she felt miserable the rest of the day, so we're questioning the handling of the chicken. OVERALL: -Only initial hiccup was where we were seated, so I would have leaned more towards a 4.5 star review. After learning about the multiple issues with my daughter's experience, would probably lean more 3.5 for our family as a whole. Bottom line, would return and order the pretzel, pizza, and other sandwiches, but stay away from the chicken options and perhaps make sure they finish preparing the chips if you get them.

Rather than the…read moreusual sliced veggies, mushrooms, pepperoni, bacon and such, everything is finely minced so that no one ingredient stands out or is easily recognizable. The crust is neither St. Louis thin, thankfully, nor thick like a deep dish or store bought rising crust pizza. It inhabits that middle ground like a Pizza Hut hand tossed. That being said, whenever I go back to Richmond/Centerville, usually for a high school reunion with this weekend being our 50th, one thing I always plan on is eating at Clara's Pizza King. There is something about its preparation and flavor that I really like. This past weekend, some twenty+ of my former classmates met up there and had a good time reminiscing and eventually eating. Our food didn't arrive until an hour and a half after we were seated. While disappointing, it's understandable considering the size of our group and I'm sure the staff was trying to have everything served at roughly the same time. The area we were sat at was the lowest level of the split level restaurant. The bulk of the lighting came from a single small window, which seemed somewhat blinding compared to the almost cave-like dim lighting for most of that area. Brighter lighting would be welcome there. So, there's room for improvement, but the food was on point and enjoyed by all.

It's still enjoyable pizza sure, especially if someone else is paying. I just don't think it deserves the local fame it is coasting on. The restaurants are a bit dingy, and the service can be spotty. Seems like managment is "phoning it in"... If you've ever been there this joke is hilarious. HOWEVER, this specific location of Pizza King, Clara's has a pretty cool atmosphere. That is reminiscent of a fantasy antique-shop. If you go, you must try the breadsticks with garlic dill. They're still heavenly. Pizza king of 20 years ago: 4, maybe 5 stars. Claras Pizza King today: 3 stars. Other Pizzas King locations today: 2 stars

There is no 'meat taste' at all so get in here and give these a try. I had a feeling I would love it and I did. It's a large yet cozy venue with the number 5 featured prominently in assorted art as well as on the tables. The building is historic, lots of wood, brick and brass railings plus a stunning Victorian bar back. We ate at the bar which was very comfortable. Little sliding wooden trays to make it convenient for eating, then just move them out of the way when you're done. They have 10 or so craft beers on tap and a full bar. We had the opportunity to sample a couple brews and we both enjoyed our beer choices and the food. Prices were fair, and tax is included in the menu price. I really want to shout out our bartender/server. Didn't get her name but she had round glasses with eyeglass chain attached and was on the shorter side. She was very customer focused, answering all our first-timer questions, attentive, appropriately conversational, and definitely on the ball as she was handling tables too. Top notch service. About those railings: unless there's a special back entrance, the venue may not be wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps at the entrance, and if you want the bar instead of booth or table, another three or four. Both have sturdy solid handrails. I do not fault them for this; probably the historic building is exempt, but just wanted to note it for anyone needing that info. All in all a five star experience and I hope to return soon.

Freshly baked bread & a plate of roasted garlic olive oil was placed on our table. It was heavenly & we had to remind ourselves not to eat too much or there would be no room for our entrees. Hubby ordered the mixed grill while I got Chicken Parmesan & a chopped salad. The salad was a typical Greek salad & was good. The Chicken Parmesan was huge & took up almost the entire plate. There was a side of spaghetti nestled next to the chicken & it complimented the dish nicely. The server brought a plate of freshly grated cheese & put most of it on my entree. Yum! Hubby really liked the skewer of steak, chicken & shrimp along with the typical veggies of bell peppers, mushrooms & onions. I feel like Richmond seriously lacks good upscale(ish) restaurants and so people think this place is good due to lack of options. The place also looked rundown and dirty. We won't be going back.

This isn't as bad as I'd heard, nor is it as good. It doesn't taste like cardboard with sauce, but there is a manufactured texture to the crust. No one would mistake it for hand-tossed crust. I asked for a 9 inch deluxe and a sweet tea. When she asked for $12.56, I was a bit shocked! That was like a trip to LaRosa's near Cincinnati--with the tip. Now, The Americana (their deluxe/supreme) has the usual pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers, but also has hamburger and black olives. That is worth a little extra, I suppose. The taste didn't encourage me. I didn't think "I've got to return to have more soon." I thought "Well, I've been here, and now, I know." It's not as bad as Mercurio's, but it wouldn't make my top 10. The sweet tea neither seemed to be sweet, nor tea. There wasn't much flavor. The best reason to go here is to support your neighbors and keep restaurants in Centerville. Maybe, if they get more business, they'll become better. They were shutting down the buffet when I arrived, so I'm not exactly sure what they normally do. I assume that it has pizza and salad. They have a small dining room that looks out onto Main Street/U.S. 40. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful.
