Boy, did I want to grant this 5 stars especially after my first visit when they had just opened. I met the owner (I think his name is Josh) who was super nice and I told myself this is a spot I want to give consistent business to. Then why the 4 stars you might ask? The sandwich/toast that got me really excited about this spot, an Italian tuna which was so incredibly good, has sadly and abruptly vanished from their menu. It's really hard for me to understand why given I have lived and eaten all over the world and moved from California and so I'm confident that my palette did not mislead me. Instead I tried the smoked salmon which was also great but doesn't quite rival the tuna. I have no idea why in this town so many places embrace meat but this seemed to be a spot where not only could you get solid food, but also great coffees and juices. I will be back for sure but unfortunately not as frequent as I would have liked. The menu is sparse and taking off a sandwich that I still think back to and not replacing it in some capacity seems to be a signal that costs are the main driver at this establishment as well. read more

When this location first opened it was great...nice crowd...great ambiance...and good menu items. However in a short period of time they have changed the menu...how they prepare some of the menu items...and for our Saturday morning visit it was dead. Toastique is a nice spot for fresh, healthier options, and it's located across-ish from the Train Park (iykyk) in the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley area. Everything is made fresh to order and you can taste it. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially since the shop is new. They took the time to explain the menu while we stood there hemming and hawing over all the options. We finally decided on trying a few of their fresh-pressed juices, a smoothie, and some of their gourmet toasts. For food, we ordered the 3 Cheese Italian Toast with prosciutto, melted Swiss and fontina, roasted garlic onion jam, and dressed arugula on jalapeño cheddar toast. We also had the Spicy Crab Toast with lump crab, melted Swiss and fontina, sriracha aioli, tomato, Bibb lettuce, jalapeño, microgreens, and a lemon twist on rustico toast. I enjoyed both. For drinks, I had the Heartthrob juice (seasonal) with pomegranate, fennel, green apple, pineapple, lemon, and mint. So good. We also tried the Balance juice with celery, cucumber, spinach, kale, apple, romaine, parsley, ginger, and lemon. Both were fresh, bright, and super refreshing. I already need to go back to try their bowls and lattes. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, so if the weather is nice, grab a spot outside under the shade of an umbrella covered table. I will admit that I hate to pay for avocado toast however I couldn't help myself and decided to treat myself to the tomato burrata toast and it was so delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh and the portion size was great. I also got the gingerberry smoothie which was also very flavorful. You can get coffee, cold pressed juices, bowls and a variety of toasts. I had such a great experience here! It's tucked into a small plaza but there's plenty of parking, which made it super easy to stop by. The shop itself is beautiful--very clean with lots of plants and wood accents. Total vibe. They had tropical house music playing, strong AC (a must), free WiFi, and clean restrooms. The staff were incredibly friendly and my food came out really quickly. I ordered the spicy crab gourmet toast and was pleasantly surprised. It is a bit messy, but they layer it with a lettuce leaf underneath which actually helps catch everything that falls--such a thoughtful touch. They do go heavy on the cheese, so if you're lactose-sensitive like me, I'd recommend asking for light cheese or no cheese. The ingredients tasted super fresh and the crab wasn't fishy at all. We decided to pop in & try the smoothies. We got the cold brew with peanut butter added, and some kind of blue one for my teenage son. Both are refreshing, delicious and fun and different. We weren't hungry so I didn't try toast, but they looked pretty good coming out. Very elaborate we also got the vitamin C shot with cayenne in it.
