Nothing spectacular at the bar at La Fogata. The hotel and decor are really beautiful and welcoming, but the food was a bit disappointing and pricey. I was in the mood for a chicken Caesar salad and my husband got the salmon. As I was ordering the chicken, the bartender said the salmon was better, but I didn't listen. He was right! The chicken was low quality and dry. The salmon was okay. The drinks were not fantastic also. I'd recommend trying some different restaurants in the area if you're staying at this hotel.

Excellent - beautiful unique ambiance, delicious food, and fantastic service. Stayed at the resort so had all our meals on the premises. Had lunch and NYE dinner here and it was delicious! Our server was professional and kind, and the Manager (i think he was the Manager?) came over to check on us and made sure that our experience was wonderful. I had the salmon and it was so good, enjoyed some Sancerre as well, they also have a kids menu which is always much appreciated. Definitely recommend!

I recently stayed at the Scottsdale Resort & Spa for a work conference. This restaurant is located within the hotel and enjoyed both meals I had. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating that overlooks the golf course. Got to see a great sunset over the course at dinner. When I first arrived to the hotel we got lunch, the burger and steak sandwich. Both hit the spot and the fries were delicious. The garlic aioli on the steak sandwich was amazing and I should have asked for it on the burger or at least to dip my fries in. My last night in town I had dinner with coworkers. I got the pesto squash pasta which was really good, just wish there was parmesan to sprinkle on top. A coworker got the scallops and pork belly which he really enjoyed, but wish it was a bigger portion. During lunch there was only one other table so the service was great. We were nervous we might be forgotten about being outside on a "colder" day for AX, but we weren't! As for dinner the service was still great just a little slower.

I had a very attentive server, which was really nice. The ambiance was also really lovely as I had a nice view of the sunset. My dish, however, was not warm at all. The flavors were wonderful so I didn't mind all that much, but for the price point... you want your dish to be hot!

    Cheers!

I visited La Fogata while on a ResortPass for the spa one Wednesday morning. I was able to get right in as it was very slow. I believe they were closing shortly, but I had a good half an hour to pop in and out. I was able to sit outside and take the beautiful view of the golf course. I had Logan as my server. I didn't really need to look at the menu because I knew I wanted avocado toast with an egg so I ordered that and a nice immunity juice. He also was kind enough to provide me with the Wi-Fi since my phone was spotty in that area so I could get a little bit of work done. The juice was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend that. The food was delicious and A+ for presentation. It also came out fairly quickly. Since it's a resort, the prices are a little bit higher than usual, but I thought it was worth the pretty penny. Overall, this experience was lovely and I would definitely go back if ever add this resort again. Shout out to Logan who did a great job.

We stayed at the "Scottsdale Resort & Spa" that this restaurant is attached too, and ate here for both dinner one and breakfast once! Everything is expensive, so be prepared, my 3 scallops and the tiniest piece of pork belly was $38, for that price I was expecting more food. My mom said her chicken dish was fine, nothing to rave about. Breakfast on the other hand, so much food for the price, I had toooo much salmon on my eggs Benedict, but I loved how they cooked the Salmon!

The Scottsdale resort and spa is a wonderful place to be! We were at the resort for their stay well event weekend. We stopped out here for the day and grabbed a quick lunch. They had a very beautiful patio that we got to enjoy while soaking in the sun. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our food and the nice peace and quiet.

Beautiful ambiance, all the dishes we had were fresh, unique and full of flavor. Everytime we ate the service was top notch. Absolutely loved our experience.

Parking: hotel parking with Valet Staff: bartenders were great, wait staff were a few beats behind, meaning service was lagging even on getting the bill, after cards were given there was like 10 minutes and we were the only people there. Food: excellent, Mole Meatballs, homemade gnocchi with braised beef. Overall: I would go back for the food if I was sitting at the bar.

    Espresso Martini

We came here early for dinner, about 5:30pm. It was very quiet. There were a few firsts for me: espresso martini and bone marrow. The espresso martini was great, but the finish was a little sweet. I probably would get this again but just to finish off a meal as opposed to enjoying one with the meal. It wasn't too strong for the espresso and it had an overall nice flavor, like the espresso wasn't too bitter or citrusy for me. Bone marrow: omgggggg where has this been all of my life? I've heard of it before, but just wasn't feeling adventurous enough before. Now I wonder how many delicious opportunities I've missed. Don't skip this if you come here, 10/10. It was seasoned well, and the combination of all of the flavors? Yassss. The scallops: one scallop was super salty, but another was seasoned well. Obvi we shared dishes. The corn was sweet and delicious as well as the cauliflower bisque, which I wasn't sure I would like. It was a beautiful background player for the dish. The big boy Mac and cheese had just the right amount of spice, but oh my. It was huge. The pork belly was delicious, the cheese sauce was rich and creamy, we couldn't even eat it all, brought it back to the room to eat later. If you tackle this one, expect to make it less than halfway through it unless you are starving. The noodle shape really held onto a lot of the sauce and it was amazing. We came back later for dessert. The seasonal cobbler was apple. It came with vanilla ice cream. The apples were cooked to a good texture, still firm, not mushy, and not overly seasoned with cinnamon. The tiramisu was okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. It would do better with a little more coffee flavor, but the mascarpone was evident. I think it could have been balanced a little better though. I usually get tiramisu when it's offered as a dessert, but I wouldn't get it again here. It wasn't too memorable.

Came here on a Friday night with a girlfriend. Service was good although i feel like the server wasn't very sociable. The ambiance was beautiful & the music was loud enough to hear it but not be obnoxious. Now the food.... Was super disappointed In the entrees. The ribeye had barely any sear and didn't even taste seasoned. My friend had the half chicken and it didn't taste seasoned at all. I feel like this place was not authentic to its menu. Drinks were okay. Dirty martini was good. Paloma ... meh. Appetizers were amazing. Ceaser salad. Fav part was the croutons. Tomato bisque soup came with a whole sandwich even though it was listed as a croutons. I don't live in Scottsdale so if I come back I probably would explore other options instead of this place. 4 stars for service. 3 star for ambience. 3 stars for drinks. 2 stars for food.

It was my lucky day! Craving for a beer after a stressful day (what else would heal stress better…read morethan a beer? jk!!) and found a street parking spot right outside Goldwater. I took it as a sign. It was meant to be. I immediately sat down, closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and left work behind. The AC came on at the perfect time. I cool down with a cup of water first, and explored the menu. Probably because of my defeated and exhausted look, the bartender came straight to me. I ordered the sour from their rotating menu. I appreciate the attentiveness of her, but also appreciated that she let me be during the visit. Seems like there were some usual guests there, so they were chatting away. I also left with a few cans of beer to-go. I love that they have a fully stocked fridge for the to-go needs!

While it's not in the heart of Old Town, it's within walking distance. We stopped by on a Thursday around 9:30 p.m. While we were on foot, I noticed that they have a parking lot. Ambiance (4/5): Relatively small for a brewery, but your typical chill, brewery vibes. They have some seats at the bar, some high tops, and a small patio. We sat out on the patio since the weather was nice. The seats out there are a bit uncomfortable, but we couldn't pass up on patio weather. They have free water in the corner which is always a plus so you don't have to wait in line. Service (5/5): The bartender working was super nice. It's always appreciated when servers go above and beyond in providing a great experience. He was friendly, efficient, and attentive. I couldn't have asked for more in my service experience at Goldwater. He exceeded my expectations. Food (N/A): I already ate previously so no food for me. There was a Mexican food truck in the parking lot. Drinks (4/5): I love trying local brews. At breweries, I typically get a flight so I can try out a variety of beers. This time though, I went with a pint. I couldn't say no to the Sour Rangers. I grew up watching the Power Rangers, so that was all the motivation I needed. An added bonus was that this beer is a sour. Not something you have every day, nor a style of beer that you come across very often. So I had to take advantage of the opportunity. And it was a good one. Goldwater is my type of place. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the area!

2 stars More Born &…read moreBland than Born & Bred. There's a rather impressive website promising a polished Scottsdale experience. Unfortunately, the actual experience seems to have been misplaced somewhere between the marketing department and the kitchen. The food simply isn't very good. Add flies and a moth enthusiastically buzzing around the dining area during brunch and the overall experience becomes rather difficult to defend. Service started strongly enough, but then disappeared despite the restaurant hardly being busy. We eventually had to ask the hostess to pick up the slack, which is never an especially encouraging sign. To be fair, the service is probably the strongest part of the operation, although that bar is not exactly set at Olympic height. The atmosphere was completely blah. It has the curious energy of a place that either used to be very good or is desperately trying to convince you that it is. There's a sense that whoever owns or manages it lost the spark some time ago and is now relying on the branding to do the heavy lifting. And that's really the issue: great website, overpromised experience, underwhelming delivery. Hospitality is about execution, not just having attractive photographs and clever copy. Nothing was catastrophic, which somehow makes it worse. It's simply mediocre, tired and drifting. Scottsdale has far too many good options to spend money somewhere that feels like it's already in a slow decline. Won't be coming back. Two stars, and one of those is being awarded for the staff who were actually trying. Born & Bred? More like born, bred and slightly past its prime.

We both got skinny margaritas, and they were really good. You could actually taste the tequila and fresh ingredients rather than an overly sweet margarita mix. We both ordered the Breakfast Burrito for $14, which comes with housemade chicken sausage, roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, green chilis, mozzarella, cheddar, and fire-roasted tomato salsa. We also got ketchup on the side. The burrito was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff explained that they focus on fresh, locally sourced, high-quality ingredients, and you could definitely taste the quality. The ambiance was great too.
