Unfortunately, not a great experience at this Nektar location!!Was second in line and we were the only two in there. The woman in front of me was having trouble placing her order on the self service computer and no staff would help her. They could 100% see she was having trouble and yet nobody approached her. They could've easily just have rung up her order in a second, but they did not. Finally I was able to place my order after her, and then my ticket did not come out. In the meantime, they kept saying there was something wrong with the self serve machine, and yet again, they made no attempt to help us. I waited OVER 20 minutes or more for just a simple açai bowl. Was handed it, put it in the bag myself and left only to realize as I was on my way, that it was very soupy and seemed like too much liquid was put in. I did change out the cashew milk for the apple juice, but that should not have made a difference, since I get it like that all the time. By the time I got home 15 minutes later it was a complete watery liquid. Also, even though I did not get the granola, seemed a little less than usual. I can totally understand that the staff was probably a little frustrated since they finally admitted to us that they were having trouble all afternoon, but that should've been a perfect time for them to at least apologize and be extra gracious in helping us. I come to Nekter all the time and this is probably the worst of both of the items I've had at a Nekter. The toxin flush has so much pulp in it and it an orange color when it is supposed to be green. I also couldn't taste any ginger in the drink. As for the chia seed pudding you can tell it needed to sit in the fridge longer because it was warm and pretty liquidy. Tried the Mango Delight smoothie and it wasn't bad! It has pineapple, mango, agave, and cashew milk, so it's on the sweeter side, and it tastes very thick, which I liked. However, it really doesn't taste much like mango or pineapple, so I don't know what they're putting in there, exactly. I'm not sure if it's all-natural, so maybe the fruit they're adding is canned. Regardless, it's a solid, refreshing, tropical smoothie. Service was fast and made my smoothie in under two minutes. I thought maybe something with green apples would taste at least ok, but instead, I paid $7 for a small drink with stuff that would be better off used to make grass grow. Many a morning after drinking the night before this would wake us up and get us going for the day! They also have amazing açaí bowls and this heavenly dessert called the skoop. It's a cashew milk based frozen treat, and it was absolutely decadent. Being dairy free, this was fulfilling an ice cream craving and chocolate need that is usually lacking. I really liked the juices and bowls at Nekter when I lived in Arizona. They have a ton of options flavorwise, even having flavors like dragon fruit and goji berry. They had good seasonal specials like a pumpkin flavored smoothie in the fall. The big reason for the knockdown is the hours. Considering a lot of people have smoothies or açaí bowls for dinner, 7pm is a really early closing time. Not only that, but often time they would stop serving at 6:30 so you'd rush from work to get there and then not even be able to get anything. My biggest complaint is that I liked their stuff, but it was often inaccessible for a working schedule. read more
