    Smoked Salmon Toast
    Maya D.

Smoked salmon toast was really good! Soft bread, but a good toast, which I appreciate. I hate when toasts are either too soft or too hard. Pastrami smoked salmon was done well. All of the toppings were needed, although I chose to take off a few capers to cut down on salt. A very filling piece of toast I would get again.

    Gingerberry Smoothie

First time visiting and wanted to try a smoothie. Decided to get the gingerberry smoothie based on the list of ingredients. While I didn't expect it to be too sweet, I was slightly disappointed that the sweetness level was extremely light. Maybe adding agave to it would've helped a lot. But as it is, it wasn't horrible, I just needed it a bit sweeter. However, if that's your thing (not really sweet) then this is the smoothie you should get. Other than the smoothie, the restaurant was clean, service was quick and employees were nice. I'd visit again as I'm interested in trying their bowls.

This place is special to my heart because I absolutely love everything that's on the menu. What you see in my post is two days back to back. On one day I got toast and a bowl thinking I was going to be able to eat both, but I just put it in the freezer and ate it on the third day. I will give this five stars but each time I go it took a long time for me to get my order. Outside of that the customer service is decent and the product is consistent so I will continue to go and recommend.

We tried the avocado toast and a couple açaí bowls. Overall, really tasty food. One of our bowls was not blended well and very liquid so we asked to have that one remade. After that, it was great. Very creative menu. I had two complaints. First, the blenders and extremely loud and aren't covered, so it's not a great space to eat or have a conversation. Second, the person who took our order and made our food wasn't helpful at times, and didn't make us feel particularly welcome. Overall, would go back though, because there are a few other menu items that I want to try, and hopefully next time will be a more positive experience.

I would love to have given a 5 star because the smoothies, drinks and shots are really good, but the service just wasn't great. We stood at the counter for several minutes while the 2 attendants continued their conversation behind the small counter, to the point that I thought we were being ignored. The little shop is well decorated, has a ton of menu options to appeal to everyone and I was shocked at how good everything tasted. They have a cooler section where you can grab juices, shots, snacks and fresh fruit to go.

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and my experience was so good that I came back the very next day! I especially loved the watermelon, ginger, and lime juice (a seasonal item) it was sooooo refreshing! I also tried the PB Crunch, which was so beautifully presented that I almost didn't want to eat it!The time and care they take to craft your food are absolutely worth it. The PB Crunch was truly a work of art and tasted twice as good !!

On a recent work trip to DC we were looking for pre-event fuel. Smoothies are the perfect snack to leave you feeling full but with the pep in your step you need to host an event. We all opted for the Blue Mystique which has banana, spirulina, banana, pineapple and mango. I added protein to mine and it was tropical, refreshing and delicious. They offer toasts, bowls, juices, smoothies and coffee. This seems like a great grab and go healthy option if you're in the area, and there are quite a few of these around town. Parking is a bit tricky in this area but thankfully we were a group so we hopped out of the car to order with ease.

Stop by during my lunch break and had the PB Açaí bowl. It was delicious. The customer service was good.

Went in last night and to my horror, I had pre-ordered at the wharf and I had 0 time to go there. Alejandro was so kind and said no worries he'd let them know and make me the drink! The staff is always warm and welcoming and it's so high quality I leave another establishment I frequent in the area (no names!! ) that also has smoothies to come here instead !! Solid choice always

Stopped at Toastique for a late lunch and everything was yummy. I ordered the smoked salmon with cream cheese and thinly sliced cucumber. It was delicious the herb cream cheese really gave the toast a great flavor. For my drink I ordered the recharge which is a mix of beets, carrot juice, ginger and apple juice. It wasn't too sweet which was perfect for me. Honestly for a quick lunch I have to say this place is pretty delicious. I will definitely be back when in town.

Toastique is so yummy! Everything made fresh and ready to order. Smoothies made in order. Pressed juice is made in the morning and I can't get enough of the "Balance" drink. You can't go wrong with anything listed on the food menu. The avocado toast is my favorite (see picture) and it's not just one spread of avocado, it's an large amount. *They also now have a rewards program to earn points on free items."

We were seated on the ground floor. The decor was exotic in a pleasant way and it looked like there were many seating or standing options. It was quiet in the early afternoon. We ordered the fries with aioli, I had the lamb tartare and my friend the lamb bolognese, and we both had pound cake for dessert. We both deeply enjoyed the taste and presentation of the dishes we ordered. The fries were hot and crispy and the aioli delicious -- I only wish there were more given the generous portion of fries. My tartare had the taste and texture of pate, despite the lamb chop exterior. Very clever. The aroma was just right. The cake was warm and moist with a crispy crust. My friend remarked that dishes of similar quality, taste, and presentation would cost triple in Manhattan. Regrettably, we were charged $12 for the $10 dessert. The waiter attributed it to a "computer error," but I've had to deal with overcharging by several of my favorite DC restaurants. Whether intentional or not, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Other cons: The menu is admittedly sketchy. My friend and I were unwilling to gamble on expensive and elaborate dishes. It sounds like the reviewers here did. Also, the restaurant is located in the heart of Capitol Hill, far from the metro. It's a long walk or you'll be looking for parking. Butterworth's is now my favorite restaurant in DC. I've been wanting to bring my family here for the longest time, but I've hesitated because I don't want to deal with the contempt of the host, the embarrassment of disputing false charges, and the pain of finding parking. I've been wanting to return solo for the longest time, but I've hesitated because the place is in the middle of nowhere, and I don't want to walk 25 minutes or pay $15 for a cab ride just to pay another $50 for a meal here, as wonderful as the experience might be. All that said, in terms of taste, presentation, ambiance, and price, Butterworth's left a strong and positive impression on me.

He gave it a 9/10, and I'd have to agree, it was delicious and the perfect treat to enjoy while walking around the pier. One thing to note is that prices are definitely on the higher side. I noticed the avocado toast was around $18, and while it looked nice, it didn't seem particularly special for the price. Total came out to approximately $55. What's hot - Menu. Good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, even possibly vegans. There are sweet and savory options, eggs, french toast, salads, sandwiches, etc... - Quality. Excellent! All 3 of us really enjoyed the food that we ordered. Their french toast and omelettes are delicious. My husband particularly liked the maple syrup that was served with his french toast, because the maple flavor tasted a bit stronger than your average maple syrup. Their pastries are also delicious! Soft, good texture and not too sweet. Given the softness, my best guess is that their sweet treats are recently made. - Service. Pretty good. We did not wait very long for our orders to be ready. The hot foods, like the omelettes, french toast, and drinks, appear to be freshly made. - Price. Good value for money, given the quality and portions. - Location. Convenient location in D.C. However, given the location, be prepared for it to get busy quickly, which means decent lines and wait times. What's not - Interior space. Very tight squeeze inside. There are tables and chairs inside, but their biggest tables can only fit 4 people. If you have children with a stroller or whatever, be prepared to not have room inside. They have outside seating, but that's only conducive to when the weather is warm. This place appears to be popular, which means it can get packed very quickly and seating can be difficult to find. - Acoustics. They play relatively loud music inside, which makes it difficult to have conversations with those you're with. That the interior is small, the music travels easily, which does not help. - Omelette. Even though I liked the flavor of my omelette, it was rather thin. I prefer my omelette to be more weighty/fluffy in texture. Additionally, cheese is not automatically included with the omelette. I ordered mushrooms, red peppers, spinach, and bacon in my omelette. I mistakenly believed cheese was automatically included, but I was wrong. - Parking. Is not easy to find given the location. There is street parking, but it's very difficult to come by. Final Answer Would like to come back, but probably not a first choice given the tight squeeze of the interior. If I do return, would more likely than not order takeaway.
