Giving this location a 2 star because of the weird setup of a "restaurant" this is. It reminds me of a ghost kitchen. They sell burritos, coffee, pizza and sushi. My friend and I went in to try "earlybird" which is breakfast burritos. The sign is on the door. Once we ordered, we were told that it was to-go only, that if we wanted to eat in we would've had to go inside for formal sitting. The restaurant with the formal sitting has a different name called "Scarlet Oak." On Saturdays and Sundays you can buy "earlybird" food in the "scarlet oak" restaurant and sit down. My friend and I ended up having to eat our breakfast in the cold outside because there were no signs or reviews indicating this. Otherwise, the food was decent 3/5. The sauces were the main attraction. The early bird latte wasn't great. I supposed in the warmer months it would be nice to eat outside on the picnic tables they have. Overall, not much to write home about and the whole set-up is bit weird to me.

    20% tax rate??

The food here is great and the coffee will caffeinate you for daysss if you let it. However, I've deducted two stars because I think they're sneaking extra fees in as taxes. Specifically, they're taxing at 20%, while the rate in DC is 10%. Pretty sure this is illegal...

Fried chicken breakfast burrito was cold and lacked flavor. DON'T RECOMMEND

Fried chicken breakfast burrito was cold and lacked flavor. I placed my order at the digital kiosk and waited 30 minutes for it to come out cold. The fried chicken itself was the coldest thing in the burrito. I wouldn't recommend. Hashbrowns so greasy it leaked through the foil and onto the paper bag, ultimately giving me greasy seats in my car. With so many good options in DC for quick breakfast eats, I'd spend my money elsewhere. First time going in.

First time trying. I ordered the carne asada burrito and strawberry hibiscus tea and it was terrible. Burrito: -eggs in burrito were burnt -steak was over cooked dry, unseasoned, and tasted like Taco Bell meat -overall burrito was trash that I couldn't finish and that's saying something - I didn't care that they didn't add green sauce like I requested but even if they did this burrito would still be bad Tea: - I tasted noooo strawberry! - it tasted sour and not sweet at all - it was really a hibiscus lemonade without sugar or sweetener not a tea at all.

Good concept. Not sure if I would get the burrito again. Definitely want to try the pizza next time

Chicken, sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and Carne Asada burrito, cold brew, and latte

This is a hidden little Jim! The food is outstanding. My husband had the Carne Asada burrito and I had the chicken sausage egg sandwich. Both were very well priced and the flavor was truly amazing.

Food was bomb!!! I highly recommend the egg sandwich with bacon! Drinks were delicious and costumer service was on point

Food was good and the staff was friendly. Decent place to get a quick breakfast bite but not really set up for a sit down meal.

Its warm, clean design makes it quite welcoming for enjoying avocado toast with smoked salmon, which brings one to a place of spiritual oneness. With white walls, natural wood-grain tables and countertops, Toastique's design radiates minimalist, urban style while remaining inviting. Any time I have been there, the wait times have been stress-free, and the queues move quickly. Food-wise, you can't go wrong with their avocado toast with smoked salmon. With a generous portion of smoked salmon on top of avocado mash, on perfectly toasted sourdough bread, creating a place of tremendous well-being. The cucumbers, marinated tomatoes, red onion, capers, and a sprinkle of microgreens make for a fully satisfying meal without feeling like you are overdoing it with your life choices. Drink-wise, I always go for cold brew and the cold brew never lets me down there. Last time, they had a peanut-butter cold brew and a black cherry one, both of which were magical. This Toastique delivers every time.

We hoped to find a place that offered decaf coffee since it was late in the day, but really wanted something warm since it was a bit chilly outside. Unfortunately, this location of Toastique does not offer decaf - they only have a single hopper for their coffee, so it is not an offering. We were going to find another place, however, they said how about a hot chocolate or a tea. My friend is vegan and inquired if their hot cocoa was vegan, as most places have dairy in the chocolate. The cashier went to look at the chocolate syrup and also had another person look at it to verify it's vegan. My friend ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk. Even though it was busy, we only waited about 5 minutes for her drink. We appreciated the effort to double check it was vegan, though I do wish they had decaf options.

The Tikka dish with fried egg was tasty, but wish paneer or larger protein option was built-in (not an upcharge)! The creamy red Tikka curry sauce, caramelized onions, crispy brussel sprouts, and fried ere tasty and paired well, the dish felt incomplete and something was missing, maybe some paneer or naan? I paid $5 for a side of zesty naan topped with different spices and really wish it came with the dish just came with it. While I was tempted to order the falafel, I couldn't justify shelling out another $5 for another upcharge and spend $10 on them for a total of $26 for just an entree - when these 2 upcharges should have been included in the entree by default. Wish there were more fun vegetarian dishes on the menu. Might come back for drinks and to explore the menu!
