I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have to wait for my pedicure. I mentioned that I probably would want a manicure too and then confirmed that yes I also want a manicure so they both got started right away. Both guys did a really great job. They asked me questions of how I wanted things, they followed my requests, and the finished products both look very nice. I also like that the mid-level pedicure includes parafin wax and it's only $30. While I was there I saw that another gentleman was replacing their countertops at their hand washing stations. The new countertops look very nice. I like to see small business owners reinvesting their earnings into improving the ambiance of their business - especially a salon. It tells me they care about their salon and making their customers happy. I will return to this salon. read more

I started coming here when I 1st moved to Fairview Heights in 2014. Haven't been here in a few months due to... Well... The service. They seem to have reasonable prices for a pedicure, manicure and eyebrow wax and it's not far from where I stay. The more I came the more I could see the service is the NOT the best. The employees are rude and inconsiderate. So slowly I started pulling myself from spending my money here. I would only come to get my eyebrows done. Have actually found someone else who can do them just as good, little more expensive but worth it. Ive had a few dissatisfying visits. I was refused service when asked to get amy eyebrow waxed because at one point I had complained that she didn't do them right. I'm not sure, but where I'm from if your not satisfied, you let the person know. I had to leave and come back when the owner was there for her to do them. Got a pedicure and was told I need to stop moving after he step on my foot and messed my polish up. Im sorry, I didn't know it was my fault you step on my foot. My color changed, why I don't know. I went back that same day, they changed the polish and charged me. Enough is enough I'll take my money elsewhere! Today I'm here because my normal person just had surgery and can't do pedicures for the next few months. I was hoping this would be a better experience. Let's say... It wasn't!!! Thursday afternoon, wasn't crowded, walked in signed my name, expressed I wanted a pedi. Was told to have a seat. 15minutes later.. Still waiting, a woman walks in and says I need a pedicure... Have a seat in the chair he tells her. I'm sorry, am I not here? Did we not just have that same introduction??? So now I'm annoyed!!! 10 more minutes goes by... Cool water, no towel! The guy finally comes over. I asked about a certain color. He tells me he doesn't know what they have. I can look. Well I already looked and I'm just trying to see if you have something I don't know about? He says yes but I have to go get it!! Confused because I don't work here. He brings back a color no where near what I showed him. I said don't worry about it. Pedicure done! Great! I'm a tipper! I actually feel bad if I don't have cash to tip and can't tip on my card. I don't feel bad today. No tip for you! At the end of the day.... NOPE!!! Not returning. I will have to give myself a pedicure or wait till I can go to someone worth my hard working money! read more

My friend asked me to join her at this nail salon and I was not impressed. For one the pedicures aren't really worth it at all. I got my nails done and the guy didn't even give me a chance to say what shape i wanted so I'm stuck with nails I dislike for vacation and I wear contacts so it's already difficult. Excellent work! They got me in right away. I think I was the first customer of the day. There was only one worker when I got there fifteen minutes before my appointment and he started on my nails right away. He did an awesome job on my gel manicure. He cleaned up my nails really nice, was not rough, and he even got my sides covered, which is hit or miss for me at salons! I gave them a 4 star because when I called, I asked about eyebrow threading and they said yes. When I got there I paid between my nails and getting my eyebrows done. When I sat down to get my eyebrows done it was wax and not threading! I had already paid for it though so I just has it done. She did an amazing job too! read more

I visited Today's Nail Spa in hope of receiving a clean and safe pedicure with a manicure on Fri., 01/30/22. As I waited my turn to be serviced, I noticed the nail technician used the same nail utensils from one customer to the next without cleaning, changing or sterilizing them. Once it was my turn to be serviced, another nail technician attempted to re-use dirty utensils on myself. I then confronted her asking if she could obtain clean utensils. She then began to act as though she was unable to speak English and attempted to proceed with the pedicure. Another employee then became involved and instructed the nail technician to use alcohol to clean them prior to using them on myself. I declined. The nail technician then went to the back storage area to retrieve a new one of the utensils (one of a few tools). However, when she sat down to proceed with the service, she continued to attempt to use the old pair of utensils. I declined services and departed the facility after informing them I was displeased and would be reporting them to the health department. read more

Probably the worst service I've ever had. The people were holding conversations with other co workers, laughing, and spoke to me and my friend maybe once when getting our pedicures. Sad thing that wasn't the worst of it something was telling me to go some where else and I didn't, and they messed up above my upper eye lid when waxing my eye brows my bf says it looks like I got punched in the eye which is a awesome feeling. Meh. I went there with two other people and we all got mani/pedis. That was the second time I've been to this place for mani/pedis. What was good was that we were all able to get our pedicures started right away and we got to sit next to each other. They have 8 pedicure stations. I had an older woman for my pedicure (she did my manicure as well) and the pedicure was so-so. I was a little annoyed because I was the last one to get started (couldn't decide on a color!), yet mine was the first finished. She rushed through and didn't file my nails enough. Barely much foot/leg massaging, which is what I always look forward to. She also barely scrubbed my feet. I guess everything was just sort of half-assed. The polish job wasn't too bad, but it a little bit messy in some places. I'd give a 3 on my pedicure - had there been more scrubbing and massaging, I would've given a 4. Then onto the worst manicure of my LIFE. What was really annoying was that I sat in the pedicure chair to have my manicure done, and the same woman stood on one side (my right side) and did my entire manicure, which meant that when she did my left hand I had to reach my arm across my body and hold it in the air up to her and it was really annoying and uncomfortable. I would've much rather waited 10 minutes to have my nails done at one of their many manicure stations. One of the girls I came with had the same thing happen, where she had to reach across her body to get her nails done. Aren't I supposed to be relaxing while getting a mani/pedi? But that's not the worst of it. Aside from the fact that I didn't get any lotion/moisturizer on my hands at all, my cuticles were a mess and she really just sped through my entire manicure. Then what was ridiculous is that I had nail polish all over my fingers. I am horrible at painting my own nails, but I could have done a better job myself. It was so horribly done that I ended up taking the polish off the next day (only left it on because I was too lazy to do it right away). I compared my manicure to one of the people I came with, and hers was horrible too! She also had polish all over her fingers - it looked like a 2 year old painted her nails. We both got very pale pink polish, so perhaps they were so sloppy because the messiness isn't as dramatic as it would be if you got red polish. Either way, I shouldn't be paying money for someone to do my nails if they're just going to paint everything in the general area of my nails. So that's how we arrive at a 2 star review. A 3 for the pedicure, and a 1 for the manicure. The manicure stations at this place were hopping though, so I can only assume that not everyone sucks at this nail place. But if 2 out of the 3 of us had manicures that we were embarrassed to have, then they obviously don't care about quality and they won't be getting another cent from me. read more

I've been here a few times but after my last visit, am in no rush to go back. The place has a grimy feel to it. I wouldn't go so far as to say unclean, but I also wouldn't refer to it as clean. They aren't the best with appointments. Both times I went was with a group of other women and we had appointments, yet they seem confused when we walked in and said we had an appointment... I only had a manicure this last time and it was okay--definitely not great or even good. The filing was rushed and I think the lotion she used to massage my arms was expired or something--it reeked! I literally had to scrub my arms when I got home to get rid of the awful smell. I got the manicure on Saturday but it didn't last long. It was already chipping by Monday and I finally took it off on Tuesday. 3 - 4 days? Not very good. On top of that, she really hacked up my cuticles which are now a mess. read more

I had an acrylic overlay done when really I just wanted a gel manicure but the tech talked me into an overlay. Anyway a month later here I am all my fingernails turning yellow and in so much pain! I don't have health insurance so it's costing me $150 to see the doctor plus whatever medicine I will have to pay for!!! I will never In my life go to that place again!!! Pretty disappointed and the service was consistent with the poor reviews on this site. The technician spoke to me minimally, only when he had to (despite me trying to be friendly). At first I though maybe he wasnt comfrotable speaking in English but halfway through my manicure, he took a personal phone call and spoke in fluent English (while leaving my hands roasting in the UV lamp) for about 15 minutes. The service was below average, didnt clean under my nails, no massage, etc.... I had a manicure but I guess this salon does super-crappy pedicures as well, because several women had one done and that service consisted of the techs gettng down on the floor while you say at a manicure station (instead of soaking your feet in a pedicure station). I definitely won't be going back here, still trying to find a good salon in the Ofallon / belleville area! read more

Very bad experience. I waited for a few minutes and then was told to sit down at a table. The lady sat across from me, acted like she was foing to start. Then, she proceeded to get on her phone, talk to her coworker, eat a snack, and put chapstick on...all while sitting across from me. Eventually they moved me and someone else did my manicure. But, He was very rude and kept shaking his head and laughing. My friend was there with me and also said the person who did hers was also very rude at me for no apparent reason. I came to " Today Nail Spa" just need a quick manicure. Was seated right away. As I waited to get my service, they was a side conversation between what appeared to be the manager and a client discussing a previous service at their place that ended up in an injury and a trip to doctor. The customer was demanding being reimbursed for the prior service, due to the fact the service had not been completed and she had to leave for the doctor, it was uncomfortable to hear this knowing I was about to get my manicure. The technician came over and reach in the drawer and grabbed a set of clippers and nippers, I usually see these being removed from a plastic bag showing that they are fresh from sterilization, but not today. I glanced at the tools and they appeared to be clean. But I have know way of knowing for sure. After soaking my nails for a few minute the tech cut my cuticals and trimmed my nails. Next I received an almost 60 second per hand......hand massage. After I washed my hands he asked me if I wanted to buff or put clear on my nails, I stated buff, but the tech stated they didn't have anything to make them shine. I stated again I wanted them buffed, Miraculously a new buffer appeared, but now he stated it would be $5 in addition to the already $16 service. I declined for additional services, paid the shop, tipped the tech, which I probably shouldn't of, and left. Yeah they got me once, but never again. After going there for quite some time I had to voice a complaint but did so nicely, I mean after all mistakes happen. I had my nails done and one broke two days later. I went to get it fixed and the owner said they were too thin. Well then who's fault is that? I was treated horribly, stuck in the corner for about 20 minutes until someone fixed my nail. Then they charged me to fix it. The entire time they were talking about me in a foreign language. They kept looking at me and acting as if I did something wrong. After getting my nails done many times at this salon I will never go back. I have told several of my friends that they should discontinue going there as well. I think a business should stand behind it's product and treat its customers with some type of respect. Not the mention the fact that the young lady next to me started bleeding after they cut her with the file and they did not sanitize the file nor act as if they were sorry at all. I guess first off, I'm from Milwaukee, WI & was just down visiting and decided to get my nails done. Comparing this place to the "Asian" nail salons in Milwaukee: I went in the middle of a week day, so was instantly seated for my pedicure. I was not at all familar with the prices and didn't even have a second to check their price board. The guy doing my pedi explained the 3 levels of pedi service; priced at $17, $19, & $21. In Milwaukee, prices are typically $25-40 for the exact same services. So of course I went with the most expensive - it's a steal of deal! The level of service far exceeded that of what I get in Milwaukee area at basically double the price of what I paid here. I also got a shellac manicure. Reading reviews from other nail salons in this area, I was alittle concerned about the hygiene. A different guy did my shellac mani, and actually cleaned his tools prior to use and then again during and after use. Once again, no complaints. It's now been well over a week, and neither my toes or fingers have shown any signs of any chipping. I'm very hard on my nails too - I have a bad habit of picking at them. Usually my bad habit leads to my shellac mani's only lasting about a week. But I'm still plenty good! And playing indoor sand volleyball, my toes still look perfect as well. At the end of my services the guy told me the "damage", $53. I was in disbelief of how cheap it was (shellac mani back home starts at $40 and up). I feel my nails were done perfect, I felt as pampered as I should have been for going to a nail salon (not an actual salon/spa). If I had to find faults, they're just minor things that really shouldn't matter: the towels (I had hot towel service) did not match and weren't fluffy, high salon quality, the bags for the pariffin treatment were just plastic "thank you" grocery type bags (not any special "cool" looking bags), and the stations & other items were definitely older & well used, but everything was still 100% functional. Bottom line is, none of that affects that my nails are still great over a week later, or that I felt they did an excellent job. I'll take mismatched towels any day if they only want to charge me $21 for higher end pedi! I will definitely plan to return here anytime I am in the area again. read more

I used to LOVE this place. Lee the owner is the ONLY person I would let do my nails now. I've been here so many times and even have recommended this salon over other places multiple times. But ONLY if Lee does them. I just recently went with a friend and Lee was busy so I let the same guy do my nails that did my toes. BIG MISTAKE! The pedicure was awful to begin with. The water was freezing. Then too hot. It took 6 or so adjustments through laughter to get it to a temperature that wasn't ice cold or scalding hot! The massage chair wasn't plugged in either. Had to ask for that to be plugged in. He hurt my toes when he was attempting to cut cuticles. And filed them where filing wasn't needed, right down to the meat!! Lee was busy so I thought I'd give him a second chance on my nails. Even worse idea. He glued half the gel part to my cuticles. When they started to grow out they did NOT have clean edges. On the one hand he made my tips uneven, complained when I asked for additional sparkles, and then totally half assed the other hand! He didn't even get gel remotely close to the nail bed on the opposite hand so it looked like I needed a fill the SAME day I got them done. The edges were rough and he only halfway filed a couple nails on that hand, not okay for a contact lens wearer. And on top of that he didn't have the previous color filed off before putting the clear gel on top of it so I looked like I had flakes of dirt under the clear gel. Needless to say I was less than impressed. And this is coming from a LOYAL customer who has never left less than pleased with the job done on my nails. I was so disappointed. Months ago I would have recommended ANYONE in the salon and now, if I tell anyone about it I would only recommend the owner. He will make sure you leave satisfied. But he is the ONLY one I would see. Unless, that is, you like a shotty job that looks 2 weeks old like an 8 year old could have done better. I don't normally complain and usually keep comments to myself but my nails were so terribly done I don't want someone else to go through the same trouble and then having to go else where to get them fixed! Went to get my nails done today. I will never be back and this is why. Three weeks ago went in for a full set of gel nails cost me 27.00 plus the tip. It was a good manicure, then it happened, went in today to the man sitting at station #1. He was rough I had to jerk my hand away twice so not to get burned from the instrument he was using. He told me if I jerked away again he would have to SPANK me. I thought that to be odd. I have had my nails done by him before and they were horrible so I knew better than to go to him again but I thought I would give him another chance. I had lost both of the nails on my thumbs so he had to replace them. This time I did not cut them since they were so short from the time before. I did want gel nails so I knew they were going to cost a little more but I never expected them to cost as much as a full set. So, I asked him why it was the same cost for a full set, he said it was 10.00 for the fill, 6.00 for the two new thumb nails, 5.00 for the white tip, 8.00 for the gel with 2.00 off. I made the mistake of saying that was how much a full set was. He screamed at me saying that I was out of line and that I shouldn't talk to him like that. I looked over at another client and asked her if I was out of line and she shook her head no and proceeded to tell the owner. I thought I was going to come unglued but I kept my cool. He kept yelling at me telling me if I wanted him to take off the preexisting nails he would charge me 5.00 more dollars. By the time I was done arguing with the asshole I decided not to say anything more so I could just get out of there. I have spent 100.00's of dollars with these people and will NEVER go back.
