The worst nail salon I've ever set foot in. First, they greet you with "what do you want" when you walk in. No polite "hello" or basic courtesy. The staff came off rude and dismissive the entire time, like customers were an inconvenience. They're also way overpriced, but apparently that's because they offer discounts if you leave a five-star review and show it to them. I didn't do that, but it definitely explains the number of glowing reviews... They're essentially bribing customers! Don't even get me started on my nails... The nails were uneven, bulky, and sloppily painted. When I pointed it out, they brushed it off and refused to fix their own work. A week later, two of my nails fell off. I will never go back, and I strongly encourage anyone who values their nails, time, and money to avoid this place. Total Scam Artists! read more

Came back two weeks after my last review! I forgot to take a photo of my nails and how they held up but they lasted perfectly! I think they would've made it another week but they grew out so much it didn't look nice anymore and I wanted a new color. I had Steven again and this time I asked for two design nails. I just wanted black and white lines on my ring and pinky nails. The lines did not come out super precise as they were free handed. I think I would have preferred the use of nail tape to ensure precision but not every shop is the same. Nonetheless, he did his very best and I'm not mad at the results. He spent a lot of time trying to make them as perfect as possible and I wasn't charged extra. Steven is very good at the main parts of a manicure! From cut, shape, buffing, color application, all of the important pieces to a great manicure he's got down. I think it my only critique is design/line work. Either way, I'm still happy with my manicure and I will continue to come back to this shop! I haven't had any other nail tech yet, but everyone in the shop has been friendly and welcoming. read more

I have been going to Tip Top for years. It is progressively going down hill. Every time I pick a color, it's not what is put on my nails. Every time cone visit they say it's the gel, next dip and gel are the same. I had an appointment today. She took me 15 minutes late. The color is horrible. My skin near my nailbed is bleeding. And, she left to take care of another customer. Couldn't even put oil on my cuticles or take the toe separators off from the pedicure. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! Ugh! I went back because my last experience with Peter was great! Unfortunately, he wasn't working yesterday, so I got another guy. After I told him I would be getting the basic mani pedi, he still put a menu in my face to try to upswell me. After that he didn't speak to me again. The pedi was fine, but this guy's entire polish application was pretty awful, both hands and feet.i didn't notice my toes until today, but while getting my nails painted, I pointed out that he was only painting the tops and had missed the side completely. He randomly replied that this polish isn't that good and I should have gone with gel, because this doesn't last as long. I'm well aware, but I was actually taking Peter's advise from my last visit to alternate between gel and normal polishes to avoid nail damage. When I finally pointed out the problem, he put on a third layer of polish to cover the edges. This made my polish super thick, but since the edges only had one layer on them, they dried looking cracked and uneven. My thumb polish is already cracking, and he did an awful job cutting g cuticles. Too close on my thumbs, so the skin around my nails feels raw, and he still left dead skin around the nails. I should have had him repaint all nails, but I was on a time crunch. I'd ask for a refund or redo, but I'm positive this guy wouldn't help out. I'll avoid this place in the future read more

Family owned business that has been around for 20+ years. Typically greeted by the sweetest lady (Mary) who manages the place. She tries very hard to connect with the customers and genuinely wants to make the customer happy. One time, I was not particularly happy with the color that I chose and mentioned it (a bit late). The tech started over without any complaints and wanted to make sure that I was happy!!! I've noticed that the products are also top notch and LOVE getting the pedicures there since there are different types of treatments, scrubs, and scents that you can choose from. Overall, been super happy with the results. I typically steer away from places that are "cheaper" because I don't know what cheap products they use and/or if people there are even licensed. Firm believer with the saying, "you get what you pay for." read more

I took a weekend golf trip down to St. Louis with my girlfriend, and she was looking for a place to relax while I was on the course. As it turns, out after we finished our round, it was her intention to do a couples manicure thing. I couldn't say I was very excited, but after a day of not spending much time with her, I concede, begrudgingly. I have to say, this is not my first time in a nail salon, and I was very happy with our experience. We were taken care of in a professional and relaxed atmosphere, and the service was top notch. They were very attentive to my gf's needs and joked around with us about our cheesy little nail salon date. If I am ever ambushed into a post-golf nail treatment again, I'm sure I'd end up back here! read more

So....I needed a last minute manicure...went on at 815 pm and the guy accidentally ran the pedicure tub..told him I did honestly want both, but, I knew there wasn't enough time...he assured me it was fine, so did the pedicure...went over to manicure station, told him he could just do a color cuz it was getting so late, he told me French manicure was fine... So he did it...and it took a while and i felt bad so I tipped him $15, The next day, by ten am, it was cracking and chipping....I wasn't even doing anything!!!! I was at a funeral and reception!!!!! I went back that evening and got it fixed... The next morning, it was completely cracked.... There's only so many times I can go back to the same salon....i feel bad b/c he worked hard to give me great customer service, but the product just wasn't up to par. read more

Been going there 16 years. Everyone is friendly but not equally gifted. I only use Peter and I tip him big. My mani/pedis always look perfect when he does them, and they last. There are a few in there who it ends up looking like a 5 yr old did them and they don't understand English well enough to explain what the problem is. Otherwise I would've given it 4-5 stars. Last time I went in there, I wanted overlays and could not communicate this to the girl who was available. She kept saying 'tips' and being one that gets exasperated easily, I said 'fine'. Regretted it and have been waiting for these tips to fall off so I can have Peter give my overlays. read more

I will never go back there again. I decided last minute to get a silkwrap instead of just a manicure. I'm not really a nail person, I get my nails done maybe once a month. I tried to explain to her how I wanted them done, which was kind of hard because of the language barrier. I don't like the fake plastic tip because they damage your real nail. I watched several Youtube videos on how a silkwrap was a better alternative. Anyway because I wanted a little length to my nails she was going to use the plastic tips. I told her no, and I explained to her why. She said so you want to use your own nail, I said yes. Long story short and $35 later I have a regular manicure. When I saw how short she was filing the nail (which was my own nails length), I asked her what she was doing. She stated this is how its done and there was nothing else she could do since I didn't want the tips. So even though I was unsatisfied with her service I tip her anyway. I guess she was unhappy with the tip and after she finished painting my nails, she had me dry them using the mini fan at her station. Normally they take you to the drying station. And I was supposed to receive another service, but she started work on someone else. By this time I'm livid; I grab my things and left. I was able to find another place to get my eye brows done (Brown Spa; which they did an excellent job and was very polite). I asked the tech about silkwraps and she confirmed what I though. She also told me she never goes to Tip Top Nails "they're terrible". I was able to find the Youtube video, so I went back to Tip Top Nails and show it to her. She said they don't do it like that, and that if I showed her the video before she would have told me no. They refused to do my nails the way I wanted them, and refused to give me a refund. I'm a stay at home mom so I don't get many days to myself, and it pisses me off that this chick messed up my day. Save yourself some money and go to a different salon. The Tip Top Nail Salon in the Galleria Mall (Brentwood, MO) is so much better. read more

This establishment gets one star, only because giving no stars is not an option. Stopped by here because it's a Sunday and no other place was open. I had a broken nail and just needed it repaired until it grows out. I have gel nail polish and the technician put my hand into a bag with cotton and acetone and left me there to do a pedicure!! Are you serious?? She told the manner that I had acrylic when I repeatedly told her I only had gel nail polish and they were my real nails. Unbelievable! The place is unsanitary and I have no idea how they are still open. Not worth the trip. read more

I've started regularly going to Tip Top Nails in Fairview Heights for acrylic nails. In the past, I have never had acrylics done or any other form of manicure besides traditional polish. My natural nails are very flexible & crack often, so I wanted something to make my nails look more uniform & pretty. A co-worker of mine suggested Tip Top & I was not disappointed! I've experienced fast, friendly service, more than reasonable prices, & long-lasting nails. Walk-ins are welcome, which is something that seems hard to find in this area. I find it easier to go in when I find the time rather than having to make an appointment weeks in advance. All employees are more than happy to accommodate walk-ins. During busy times on the weekend, there is some wait, but I've found it easy to walk in during the week. I've been seeing a technician named Tina & she's great, but I've seen interactions with other technicians & they seem just as friendly. read more

I liked this place. I thing the person who gave me a pedicure did a good job. She was quiet most of the time though she might have had some allergies or a cold since she blew her nose twice. The only thing to complain about is I didn't expect it cost 30$ like maybe 20 or 25 and I kind of thought they were talking about us.
