Today's Pool & Patio sells low quality umbrellas and doesn't stand behind its products. In addition, customer service is unhelpful and disinterested in supporting its customers -- the local store associates direct customers to a corporate email address for customer service. I needed to add a few additional umbrellas (I already have owned the three other ones for many, many years) and stands at the last minute to my backyard pool area for some family and friends that were going to stay with us during their spring break. I didn't have time to order them from Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel, and I was in the neighborhood of Today's Pool & Patio, so I dropped in and purchased 3 umbrellas and stands. The stands recommended to me weren't heavy enough to prevent the umbrellas from falling over in light wind. In fact, after a couple of days of owning these umbrellas, it was a breezy afternoon and one of the umbrellas blew over into my pool and the shaft of the umbrella cracked. It was cheaply made and did not stand up to minor impact. I have purchased many outdoor umbrellas and umbrella stands over the 25 years that I've been a homeowner, and none of them have been this cheap. Instead of standing behind their product after I sent pictures and an explanation of how the umbrella stand blew over and the umbrella broke after less than a week of use, they said it wasn't covered and closed the case. I'm out of money and out of an umbrella that I cannot even get to close and will have to cut up with a heavy duty knife or scissor to take down and throw away. Thanks, Today's Pool & Patio!!! Went to the store at 67th Ave because we were looking for new cushions to be made for our Mallin set. There was a particular set of cushions that I have always liked and wanted to duplicate that set. We were dealing with the Kerry, the manager at the store and she was extremely helpful in making that become a reality. She initially thought the fabric and buttons weren't available. She did a lot of investigating and calling around and was able to make it happen. We have been to this store a lot of times through the year's and it's always been a pleasant experience. I'm surprised that there aren't more reviews. I love this store. After firing our pool guy, we decided to care for our pool ourselves and the staff there (particularly Dustin) is SO knowledgeable and doesn't make you feel stupid for know knowing what to do. They have great sales on their pool toys as well. I'm not sure that their pricing is the best on chemicals, etc. But it seems to be at least fair. More than anything, the staff is friends and most of them have worked there for years, so they know their stuff. read more

If you need new outdoor furniture or you need your outdoor furniture repaired, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!! We bought new furniture from them 7 years ago, they were AMAZING! answered all our questions and worked with our budget. The furniture has held up so well. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and our chaise lounge fabric ripped:-( Thinking we were going to have to buy a whole new chair, we went by Today's Patio to see what our options were. Well guess what?! We didn't have to buy a whole new chair, Anita let us know that we could have the chair re-slung for a very reasonable price!! YAY! We brought the damaged chair to them 2 weeks ago, picked the new fabric out and were prepared to wait 4 weeks. They called us today(2 weeks later not 4) chair is ready. We just picked it up, it looks FANTASTIC!! Dustin( who originally sold us the furniture (7 years ago) loaded it in the car for us and we were on our way( after a very fun and friendly conversation!!!) I'd just bought a home with a Hayward pool skimmer and it didn't seem to be functioning properly. Brought it in to Eric the tech and he did a 10 minute diagnostic, took the thing apart and let me know that the unit was in descent shape although it could stand to use a couple replaceable parts. I was expecting to spend much more than $15 to get it running right, so I was pretty stoked. The best part about it was that I was encouraged to bring back other parts of our pool system that were in question for the same type of diagnosis and care I had been given on the skimmer. If service and support after the fact are the true measure of a successful retailer, Today's Pool and Patio fails miserably. I have had to chase missing nuts/bolts, chair leg pads and, as recently as last week, chair covers. I called to ask for help on identifying the correct chair covers for our specific patio set with a promise that they would get back to me with the info and pricing...I would still be waiting if I didn't place another call...no surprise...they sold me the wrong ones that I had to return to the store.
