This review is after attending a trial class. The class was easy to schedule, Frank was very responsive via email and asked for shot records before class. Both teachers were kind. We street parallel parked up front, they only have street parking on busy Westwood which is not convenient for me. The space where parents and kids sit is the size of a room, so it is very small. The class is only 40 minutes and it took my son 20 minutes to warm up since it was all new to him. He started dancing after that to them singing and started grabbing instruments and stuffed animals. This is a nice concept to introduce young ones to musical instruments, all toddlers were around the same age. A couple of toddlers had both parents there. My husband liked the class more than I did. You have to be very hands on. Would I go back? I would just send my husband and toddler back! read more

My son has been going to classes here since he was 2 years old. He loves music and what I love is the fact that they bring out different instruments for him to try supervised and the variety of music genres that they play. During Chinese New Year, they brought out two Classical Chinese instruments. I wanted to try them out as well! Last week, they did a bossa nova theme and had this cool samba band instrument that I've never seen before. Through the classes, your child will learn about sharing, fine & gross motor skills, music, musical instruments, singing, counting, some exposure to different languages, using their words and following directions, clean up and taking turns. My son loves the teachers here. He can't stop talking about Teacher Benny. All the teachers are great. Very kind and patient. I also like the fact that they have a no illness and no vaccination policy. You can't attend unless you've got your vaccines and they will credit you if your child needs to skip a class for illness or vacation. They make sure that kids with the help of parents wipe down any toys or instruments that need to be disinfected. read more

So fun! We just moved to the area and I've been looking for something to do with our 10mo son. This was perfect, stress free and we had 3 super friendly teachers today. He was entertained for the entire 40min and I was so glad that they let them touch the REAL instruments and pound all over them--he was curious and it was perfect! THEY ALSO strategically shoot bubbles between instrument switches and I thought that was the best distraction :) As a physician I was thrilled to clean the instruments throughout class hahaha...especially since half of things go in their mouths. I am lost for words at this point, I loved this place so did my daughter however they seem to have a fine line of what is considered professional. While I respect their vaccination policy and denying my daughters doctors note, I as a parent have the right to delay (by a few months) my child's scheduled MMR along with my doctors approval if I am showing concerns for her development at the moment. (AND I CAN DECIDE THIS AT ANY GIVEN POINT I WISH, EVEN LAST MINUTE!!!) I do not need an office manager who's only medical qualifications is his wife being a nurse sending me links to pro vaccination in autistic children websites telling me to educate myself so that I feel more comfortable about injecting my daughter. Having been to a good deal of baby and toddler classes I have to say this is at the top of my list. Everyone here is such a pleasure to deal with and makes everything so easy. We've been going for about 3 months now and don't plant o stop anytime soon. Having read the negative review below I'm socked to hear that they had a hard time dealing with the staff. This place has one of the best cancellation policies ever (if you miss you don't pay as long as you send an email). I think it is wonderful that they use real instruments and bring them in with the kids so that they can touch them and get to see them up close. The different themes every week keep it interesting by having different arrangements for the same songs. I feel like this is a REAL music class where they teach children about music instead of just playing the same five songs during every class. However, what I think makes this a win is that you can tell that all of the teachers enjoy being there and really love being around the kids. read more

She got to experience hands on so many instruments most kids and adults wouldn't see in a lifetime. We love Toddle tunes so much I had them at her 2nd birthday party. Lisa and Matthew are exceptional owners! They, along with every teacher we had, were so incredibly nice and caring with my daughter and every kid! I'm so lucky to have had a company like Toddle Tunes to be a part of my daughter's first musical experience. I fully, 100% support Toddle Tunes mandate that all their students be vaccinated. I work in the medical field. We are incredibly lucky to be living in a world where we have the opportunity to protect our children from very serious and dangerous illnesses. I'd been coming to Toddle Tunes since my boy was 5 months old. Being a cost-conscious new mom I was iffy about buying classes for a baby so young. I am SO glad I did!! This has been the best environment for getting him out of his shell and I've been blown away by how his rhythm and musical curiosity has developed. Teacher Matthew is one of the most musically talented and versatile instructors I've ever seen, and he's great with kids. Literally everyone on their staff I've interacted with were so sweet and kind. We recently moved out of town and it's made me realize even more how lucky we were to have Toddle Tunes. We came across Toddle Tunes years ago when our now almost 6 year old was a toddler. Riley (our first boy) despite being somewhat shy, really thrived and enjoyed the classes with all of the teachers from age 15 months and on. Our younger son Luka has been going to classes since he was around 18 months and when we took a break over the summer due to scheduling issues and traveling he has been complaining and says he misses his music classes every time we drive past Toddle Tunes! But one of the owners, Kim was so incredibly rude to me and several of my friends that we never went back. I left unused credits there. She was very very unprofessional and acted like a child. Toddle Tunes is, hands down, my favorite hour of the week. It's a great bonding opportunity for me, my husband, and our music-adoring toddler. My reviews are usually silly, but I'm going to be less punny this time around. The owners here really care about the safety of the children and the parents - leading to a vaccination requirement that made Hubs and I ecstatic. They also request that no one come with any sort of illness, even a residual cough or runny nose. Sometimes this means Munchkin misses out on class for two or even three weeks, but it doesn't matter. We don't want anyone else to get sick and we really appreciate that they're doing their best to keep Munchkin healthy too. Beyond that, the teachers are sweet and kind and talented. And holy cow, SO patient. A class full of toddlers with the attention span of goldfish must be pretty tough to deal with, but the teachers are always smiling and laughing. To the person who attacked TT, saying the rugs were dirty and the instruments old and broken - hardly. The place is always clean, and the parents personally disinfect every toy during class. As for the instruments, there are kids literally jumping on guitars. You can't have an instrument that costs two grand and things are going to break. They don't allow cell phones or talking in class. Takes a lot of the fun out of it. Overpriced for what you get. Parking sucks. I have known Toddle Tunes over the past 6 years with my 2 sons - and i think they ROCK not only musically, but experientially :) They expose kids to music in engaging highly age-appropriate ways. I love that teacher Matthew has been able to be a male teacher model for my young boys. All of the teachers are smart, approachable, caring and just wonderful. I commend them for making sure that the babies under 1 are not exposed to measles virus' in their school by asking that all kids who are old enough to have their vaccines do. They give classes to wee ones, and there are a lot of pregnant moms too. We have had them come to our home and do 2 birthday parties! The kids and the adults loved both parties. My son has been attending classes at Toddle Tunes for almost two years now and we have only had a WONDERFUL experience here. Although we moved from West Hollywood to Hermosa Beach, we still make to trek to Westwood because the music classes here are so uniquely awesome -- taught by passionate musicians who graduated from top conservatories and don't treat the kids like babies, but rather as potential future students of those same music schools. My 3-year-old son looks forward to class every week. We have had NO issue with submitting our vaccination records (THANK YOU for keeping your classes safe, Toddle Tunes) -- we simply e-mailed them and that was the end of it. No big deal at all. My boyfriend took our son to his Toddle Tunes demo today and although there were a good amount of toddlers, we decided against it because it's a pretty loud music class and towards the end our son didn't seem too enthusiastic about playing with the instruments. Upon attending, you have to provide proof of immunizations which I think is good because you don't want to attend a class with a bunch of sick, unvaccinated children. I think this class would be slightly better however, if the sound system (microphone) wasn't too loud. read more

Toddle Tunes is a wonderful place to get your child exposed to music in a playful, interesting, structured, and stressfree way. Matthew, Vinnie, and Willie all do a great job at introducing children to different instruments (so many different and unique ones too) every week and getting kids engaged and having fun. Their credit and attendance system is flexible and fair. So you won't lose credits if your kid gets sick or you can't make it to class for whatever reason. And I really do appreciate their strict sick and vaccination policies here. As well as their diligence vacuuming and wiping down toys after each class. Most places (especially indoor) where kids run around are petri dishes of germs and bugs, but happy to say my kid hasn't gotten sick from this place yet! Highly recommend this place! read more

In every other music school I checked out, there is a 0-5 class that is really rudimentary and no real instruments are being played. Our now one year old has been attending toddle tunes classes since he was 7 months old. He loves class and so do I. It's amazing that the children are introduced to a variety of instruments and able to get hands on experience. They are also introduced to a different genre every week. Such an incredible and fun experience. I feel so fortunate to have discovered such an amazing children class for our son. The teacher have such a passion for music and there passion to share this love with the children is such a gift. We recently had our sons first birthday and hired toddle tunes to have fun with the children. The varying ages and stages of development didn't hinder anything, Matt and Lisa were INCREDIBLE. Our little man had a blast and so did all the adult. I couldn't be any more passionate in my recommendation to hire toddl tunes to help you celebrate nor could I more strongly recommend you join there weekly classes. I recently moved and wish we could take Toddle Tunes with us. Teachers Matthew and Benny are very talented musicians as well as patient, engaging, caring, and energetic teachers. This is a unique and highly educational opportunity for children of all ages to see, hear, and touch a wide variety of musical instruments and listen to various musical genres. Kids are having a blast moving their body to music and caregivers are having fun learning about different instruments along with the kids. The class begins with introductions (they always include you even if you come late!) while singing/strumming guitar, followed by clapping/dancing to well-known children songs (with a different stuffed animal each week). Then 2 instruments are introduced - the teachers played a few songs on the instruments, and then everybody gets a turn to try them. The class concludes with a big bubble machine and hand stamps! Below is an incomplete list of instruments experienced over the course of only 10 classes: -Piano -Cello -Violin -String bass -French horn -Clarinet -Flute -Oboe -Acoustic guitar -Electric guitar -Banjo -Mandolin -Sitar -Xylophone & glockenspiel -Snare drums & other drums -Other exotic instruments from other countries Other great aspects of the class are the all kids require proof of vaccination and aren't allowed to come to class if they were sick within the week. But it's very easy to make up a class if you're sick or out of town. The room is also clean and everybody is encouraged to participate in wiping down the instruments and toys after use. No shoes or food are permitted in the classroom, and teacher Benny's vacuuming after each class is the grande finale (in my easily amused toddler's opinion!). I feel blessed that my child has been exposed to all of these instruments before the age of 2! I am disappointed with the limited options in my new town (only singing toddler music classes available and pales in comparison). Had originally given them a rave review for their classes. Now updating to 1 star for business practices. Having been told that the beauty of their classes Was that you don't lose them if you can't make a class - that you can reschedule before or AFTER- I signed up for 6 classes. I was told today that my remaining 3 classes - that I had put on an indefinite HOLD - had expired! The only way to have them magically un-expire was to buy a new package of classes (surprise!). When I spoke with Lisa- she immediately said she was sure I hadn't been told that my classes didn't expire-- I was immediately made to be wrong. She talked over me the entire conversation and wouldn't let me get a word in. She said she wished women would just respect each other. If you ask me, it's not about being a man or woman- it's about representing your business honestly. Won't be coming back- unfortunately. read more

We just took our trial class today and our toddler LOVED it. Matthew was amazing as was the other instructor (Note: I think his name started with a "V"). It was entertaining for me too since they played and sang songs that were rock songs from when I was a kid. It's a great environment and tons of fun. Note: English is our child's second language and he's still very new to it. This class was very easy for him to understand as they do a great job of guiding kids through it all. read more

We have been going to Toddle Tunes for over five years and I cannot speak highly enough about it! Professionally trained musicians playing real instruments, a different theme each week, hands on instruction, dancing and a lot of laughter. I think that I have more fun than my kids at times. Teacher Matthew and his wife Lisa have a generous cancellation policy, a fantastic sick policy and kind hearts. They have done one birthday party for us and we are having them back again next month for our daughter's birthday. They do a great job at entertaining adults and kids! My son was banging on drums and playing the piano at 6 months. He took his first steps during bubble time at Toddle Tunes. At 2 years old, he knew the names of over 15 instruments! Teacher Benny and Teacher Matthew are so creative musically and have such patience. Their web site makes it so easy to schedule classes and cancel if need be. Lisa and her assistant, Frank always respond to my requests or emails quickly. And I commend their new policy regarding vaccines. RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND UNAPPRECIATIVE. i've had two experiences with this place and both have been horrible. The first was when my son was about 10 months old. I registered on line and planned my day around making the class. Once I arrived, the owner said the class has been cancelled due to no other child signing up. Obviously, he had my information so he clearly could have simply called or emailed me to let me know, rather than have me drive all the way there... Despite the inconvenience, I quickly forgave him and didn't make a fuss. Unfortunately, for some reason, I decided to try again today. My experience today was beyond rude. I entered the class and waited several minutes before I was acknowledged- when clearly I had been standing there for a while. Finally, the owner approached me and asked for immunization records. I respected his policy and the fact that he is enforcing the heath and safety of others and quickly contacted my Pediatrician to fax over my son's immunization record, as the class would be starting in just a few minutes. After about 10 minutes he walked back over to me and when I asked whether he had received the fax, he replied in a very condescending manner and said "I haven't checked yet". Meanwhile, my 17 month old son is looking in and wanting to enter and join the other kids in play. I waited patiently as the owner sat around the class, not making his way to back to check for the papers he had requested. After about another 7 minutes, he started the class by playing instruments and greeting the class. I asked whether he would check the fax, as i had already been standing there for 20 minutes with my very eager toddler. Again, very rudely he replied that he had received the records. Could he not have told me before starting the class, so that we could join and settle in??? He opened the door and once I sat, he asked me to leave because he's "the owner and does not appreciate my attitude" Gladly, Sir- I do not in way want to support your business. You lack common courtesy and decency, as evidenced by the way you handled both situations. Lastly, i was surprised at how dingy and old the carpets in he class were. Not to mention, the shelves were dusty and the toys seemed to be old and over used. in response to your response: 1 ) Your email was after my first attempt to join your class, and in that case, you had not emailed me. I had registered the same day, so there was no time to go back an forth... 2) You held up your class yourself because people were still attending and once you started you admitted that you had received the fax, but had not told me yet... i have spoken to a few others, friends and family, who have had similar experiences with your sarcastic and rude remarks... So this review is not about the class but about their "policies" and management. I was denied entrance into their class because they will not accept my child's immunization records WHICH ARE UP TO DATE and from a licensed physician who has been practicing for over 35 years simply because that physician happens to be the grandparent . I understand in this time people may be forging them and let me be clear I am PRO vaccines , and I told her several times I appreciate that she is diligent, but she refused to accept any way to "prove" his immunization history and essentially called it unethical that the grandmother was the physician. She even went on tangent to read me the AMA code of ethics. To call Lisa condescending is an understatement. How this is of any importance to them I have no idea. I have the right to choose my pediatrician despite her finding it "strange" (those being the managers words that she repeated at least 10x to me) . Lisa , the owner, was downright condescending and rude and to accuse me of either forging my child's immunizations or telling me it's unethical who's providing his care is ridiculous and a strange way to run a business and very offensive. read more

The best music class in LA. Our child goes to Toddle tunes for almost 8 month, once a week, he loves it and we love it. Teachers are super enthusiastic, no matter with 10-15 kids or only one child. Every week they have changing program, matching to all kind of events and celebrations. Super creative. They introduce all different kind of instruments every week and kids can play them too. They have almost all instruments, it's amazing and teachers can play them all. The class is combined with singing, dancing, playing and ends with bubble time. Cancelation and reschedule is super easy, online, really fast and you don't loose any class even if you cancel 5 min before. Price is great, probably the cheapest class of all other classes. We pay double for Gym, swimming and playtime, this music class is the most important class for our child's development. We don't even purchase their class when they have an offer, I feel like they deserve more. It's a shame how art is not appreciated now days as much as it should be, and it's the most important part of our kids brain development. Did a trial class- perfect for the short attention span of my 2year old yet still managed to be more than just a sing-and-dance-along toddler class: they actually get to play with real instruments. I wanted to get more class schedule options because the one we attended was getting close to naptime, which meant we would be risking meltdowns but I was told most of the other classes were full. By far the best music class for any age!!! My daughter has been attending the classes here since she was ten months old and she loves it!!! The activities are spot on for her age group, teachers are friendly, fun and professional, the administrative staff are incredible. The staff totally understanding and are extremely flexible accommodating any sickness, travel and changing nap times. This has to be the only class in LA that allows you to forward the classes without penalty. This has been a saving grace since my daughter has been sick quiet a lot since she's started crawling and walking. Another thing about Toddle Tunes is that they are extremely clean and my daughter has never been sick after attending the classes. They have strict no attendance by sick children, and they sanitize everything after use. My friend's children go here too who are now 2 and a half, and four and they know so much about instruments and music in general. This music school actually allow the children to touch real instruments and play them. It has been amazing for my baby to hear live music and feel different instruments. You also learn a lot about music and instruments which is a nice bonus as you can reteach at home. First class is free!!! We tried the first trial class and bought 24 class package. The more classes you buy, the cheaper the classes. I love Toddle Tunes. I could not recommend this place more!!! read more

I've been taking my son here now for a few weeks and we're having so much fun. I really like the guys who work here. They're very down to earth. (none of this L.A. attitude). They know a ton about music, so it's very enjoyable for me because I'm learning as well as my son. I like the way the teachers explain how the musical instruments work and let the babies actually hold them and try them. Every week they focus on a new musical theme (like folk rock, Elvis, the Beatles etc.). It's been a fun experience. I definitely recommend this place! read more
