Visited [Solidcore] for a few classes while I was in town for a work retreat. The instructors were very nice and I thought they did a great job. I appreciated a couple of the modifications they offered since my lower back wasn't feeling 100%. The one thing I didn't like about this particular location is how many machines they jammed into the studio. I felt like the machines next to me were extremely close and you could barely walk in between each of them. I would have liked more room. If I were traveling again and [solidcore] was the only option for the type of Pilates I normally do back in Florida, then I would go again. However, if I had other options I would probably give them a try over [solidcore] in the future. read more

Solid class at solidcore! First impressions: It's downtown so parking is difficult. Be sure to plan accordingly. They do reimburse parking at two garages (depending on the time of day). Keep in mind that one of the garages is quite a walk. The front desk staff was friendly and the instructor introduced herself to me before class started. I appreciated that! Class: The class was good...it challenged me and went by quickly. I was more toward the back so it was difficult to follow some of the instructors movements. Cueing was good but not great and hands on adjustments were limited. Overall, I had a nice time. I'd have to give it a few more tries before deciding whether or not to become a regular. read more

Solidcore is intense. If you're not into pushing your limits and consistently showing up on time, it might not be your cup of tea. But if you're looking to uplevel your game, this place delivers. I've been a dedicated Solidcore member for several years now. I first tried it through ClassPass and was immediately hooked. I love the intensity level, the fact that it never gets easy, the dark lights, the loud music, lots of EDM, no official breaks during class and the constant mindset and form commentary from the coach. I also love that it tones my whole body and especially my core without bulking. The late cancellation fee - honestly, I love it--it's just enough of a motivator to make sure I show up for myself. It's a great way to stay accountable. If you're new to reformer Pilates, I highly recommend starting with a Foundations class or just be ok to not be 100% on the ball for your first 5 classes - you'll get used to the new moves and that's all part of learning something new. Get there a bit early, account for parking (they do have free parking - at Amli Garage on weekdays before 5PM - entrance on Lavaca and at city hall garage after 5PM and on weekends - entrance on Guadalupe - as of 10/2024) and introduce yourself to the instructor, ask questions, and get familiar with the equipment. Watching a few intro videos beforehand can also be a big help. And know your door code. Socks and towel optional. Put your gear into the pit or use a locker. The instructors I've had have been consistently good, with some being truly exceptional. Each class brings a different challenge--some are hard, others are insanely hard--so just choose your level of intensity. Stay on your knees for your plank variations for your first few classes. One more tip: if you're more than 5 minutes late, the doors lock automatically, so plan accordingly. And have fun! read more

solidcore is my favorite workout and workout class to attend. I've been going 2-3x times a week for almost a year now and don't see myself stopping anytime soon! Parking - offer validated free parking either at the Amli garage or city hall grade depending on day/time. Studio - the studio is small and doesn't have showers/ammenities which is the main complaint, but I go straight home after classes so it doesn't bother me. Price - classes are EXPENSIVE but worth it in my opinion as you know you're getting a good workout. Coaches/classes- i love the positive attitude coaches have. they are very thoughtful in their language and how they motivate you to feel your best. I love these classes but they are HARD every single time - you increase your resistance as you take more classes so it never gets easier. I feel challenged every time and I know I'm getting a good work out, but it's also enjoyable and I love coming back. read more

The class is hard even with the lower beginner spring settings. Fast paced, so you never get bored and you're just about to fail one muscle set before you start the next. I just got into Pilates recently and I can confidently say that it's one of my favorite type of workouts ever -- my muscles have never felt stronger with all the fatigue that the exercises put your muscle tissue through! They offer 2hr validated parking at the AMLI so that's also helpful because y'all know how limited the parking is in downtown these days. Biggest shout-out to all the coaches for all the motivation and encouragement they provide throughout the 50-minute classes! Lastly, if you have ClassPass, the class value is much cheaper than if you directly get a membership through them but they do offer a $79 2-week unlimited class deal for first-timers, so definitely take advantage of that incredible value! :) read more

I'm a lagree mega former devotee but... solidcore in austin is hands down a super solid workout. Instruction is great and I absolutely love the energy of the instructors and lit playlists. The workout itself is. Omg my abs. Omg my legs and butt. You're welcome. If you're looking for tough and sculpting solidcore is absolutely the workout to try in austin. 50 minutes of torture later, your abs will love and hate you the next day. If you've been on megaformer before you might be thinking this class is a piece of cake right? WRONG! This is one of the hardest workout classes I've taken in Austin. While I was used to doing Lagree, this is on a whole new level. You're challenging yourself not only physically, but mentally as well. You hold, pulse, and quake in this 55 minute class set to very loud music. They focus on isometric movements and the slower you go the better! There are about 14 "Sweatlana" machines lined up in a straight line (as opposed to staggered) and I feel like this really motivates you because you're watching your neighbor push themselves as well. Every class is different but you will feel the burn. Sometimes even multiple days after. You work arms, abs, and legs but they have specific classes for just arms and abs. Depending on the instructor, you can get a themed Beyoncé playlist, a Britney playlist or just fun club music! (Shoutout to faith! She's always killing it with the music!) It's also set in a dark room with glowing lights, so you feel like you're at a club, just while dying of course! This location offers validated parking in the garage right behind it. The validated parking is only until 5pm though so keep that in mind so you're not scrambling to get to class! It's better to be early because the instructor will demonstrate some of the moves you will be doing during class. read more

I can't believe someone got on a megaformer and thought, hmmmmm...how do we make this harder? That masochist was the founder of solidcore and this workout is no fucking joke. My first introduction to it was at the Triangle location, but having just reacquainted myself with the business at this location, I am inspired to share. The machine: machine is their own design, but the 50 minutes on theirs is more excruciating and limb shaking than its pansy of a Lagree cousin (JK, I still love ya, Lagree). The vibe: The room is on the darker side with neon accents, the music is more bumpin', and the instructors pump you up/encourage you the entire duration of the class, which is pretty impressive just in and of itself. This particular studio: There's no showers, but ample locker space, restrooms, and they have towels on the machines for you before class starts. No grip socks needed! Parking is validated for classes before 5pm, I believe. read more

I'm not really one to write bad reviews, but this business is run very poorly. I had a major surgery that no longer allows for me to workout and I have been trying to get my membership cancelled for MONTHS. They are unresponsive and unhelpful. They do not respond to emails and when they do, it an inactive link that still won't let me cancel. I've been working on this since February. I feel like I am just locked into this for life. This procedure has been traumatic and emotionally + physically so painful, and this business is making things so difficult. read more

Unkind and rude: Came a few minutes late to class and couldn't get in. After waiting and knocking someone opened the door. She had no sympathy and was unkind. She stated she couldn't let me in 6 minutes after because of policy. But five minutes would have been different....There was a spot, my friends were in class, and she decided to be rude, could not explain her position and was careless. I went here for my first Pilates class ever, so I showed up 10 min early per their recommendations. I let the front desk woman know it was my first class, and she very haphazardly "showed" me around. I let her know I have never done Pilates before, and she couldn't have cared less. She didn't show me how to work the reformer or introduce me to the coach. Instead she just said "maybe pick a spot in the middle of the class and watch other people." A total joke. The instructor couldn't have cared less either, and took no time to ask if anyone needed help or was new. Totally different than any workout class I've experienced. Luckily I was with a friend who had been before, and she literally was changing my springs for me, as I had NO clue what to do. This place deserves no one's money. read more

A good friend of mine in Los Angeles told me that I need to try Solidcore ASAP. I'm glad I took her advice cause it was life changing and I'm only two weeks in. Solidcore is for anybody who wants to get stronger. I suffered a back injury earlier this year and I wanted to ease my way back into my workout routine. I wanted to find a workout routine that would prioritise strengthening my core. The workout is hard but I felt myself getting stronger even during the first class. The instructors are all fantastic and super encouraging. I can't say that I have a favourite yet since I'm still in the midst of checking out every single instructor. The music is on point including all throwback and bangers from EDM, hip hop, house and pop. I do think I knew this would be my workout of choice when Carrie played "Tell Me When To Go" by E40 at my very first Solidcore class. I'm new to town and I would say that I've made the most friends due to the Solidcore community. If you're thinking about checking out a class, do it and you won't look back. read more

Today I decided to take a class through classpass and unfortunately was 4 min late due to parking hectics that occurred at the Austin City Hall garage. I walked to the building so I could let the staff know my situation but the doors were locked and the girl working front desk simply looked at me and ignored me. I knocked, nothing. She just stared and did not acknowledge me. I'm beyond annoyed, especially because the building hours close at 8pm and I drove all that way. Can't get enough Solidcore. I took a class at this studio while visiting a friend and got my butt kicked once again. Very few workouts have me fatigued during the warm up. I love the consistency of challenging classes and amazing instructors at all the studios I've been to. You always know you're going to get a very hard work out and be motivated to push yourself outside your comfort zone. read more

At first glance, [solidcore] looks intimidating. I'd never done a Pilates class with machines and everyone's in crazy good shape so I wasn't sure how it was going to go.. ..but the nerves melted away immediately because everyone was so friendly! The assistant manager greeted us and our instructor, Talia, was great. She made sure to introduce herself to us before class and show us how the machines worked and adjusted them based on our experience level. Talia was so positive during class and one of the things I loved is that she provided constant feedback and instruction, with an emphasis on proper form and making sure we didn't injure ourselves. The music will keep you on beat for each rep and the lights are dim so you can make the crazy faces necessary to push through that last rep. This class is guaranteed to make you sweat and your muscles will be shaking by the end but it's 100% worth it. I'm confident I won't be able to walk by Sunday but definitely recommend! read more

I'm not usually the type to leave a bad review, but unfortunately, I think people need to be aware of what solid core really is for a new comer. I bought a package over black Friday for two weeks unlimited upon my arrival nobody ever explained the reformer to me. Even when they text me asking for feedback I said you know it would be really nice if I understood how everything worked and if there were more corrections throughout the class. Then they decided to charge my card a fee, I didn't understand online booking site. It's very hard. If you don't have an account I booked a class then canceled it within five minutes realizing it was the wrong class and they charged me $35. They said they would refund me and never have along with the fact there's no front desk or locker rooms it's not really worth $35 a class in my opinion. read more

Instructor was great. Be aware that you are REQUIRED to wear a mask while on the machine! Even though it's not indicated on their Covid release form and website - that is what you're told on arrival. Class Pass and their release form indicate that masks are optional while exercising which is a bit misleading. So if you sweat a lot, or simply have concerns about getting proper oxygen - know that it's a thing at this studio. Otherwise, difficult and energetic workout! Positive vibes read more

I did this yesterday on classpass and I'm dead. I used muscles in my abs that I didn't know existed. The instructor was super helpful and everyone was very friendly. The class was easy enough to follow, I can't believe how hard it was!! The location is clean and had all the amenities one would need (no showers though). I love Lagree and I've taken classes in studios all around the world, so I've seen quite a few techniques and style variations. I didn't enjoy this class at all and it's not as great of a workout as in the original megaformer. First things first, don't expect Sebastian Lagree's machines, they have their own copy, which is not as sophisticated (I.e. less handles, less ways to make the move work for you). Second, in the middle of the covid epidemic, while other studios in the area capped class sizes at half capacity (I.e. every other machine is empty), this studio was fully booking their classes. This meant a lot of people in a small space and strange machine configurations to try to make it work. I know it's a hard time for small fitness studios, but safety should come first and the co figuration was just weird and disorienting. Lastly, I just didn't love the teaching style of my instructor. read more
