Even though we lived in the area we couldn't recall having seen any ads or mailers or anything for the Diamond Gallery and the store front is rather unassuming and can't quite be seen from 59. Either way, the husband, girlies, and I were out and about one afternoon so we decided to stop in and take a look. I must say spot on, other Yelpers! Spot on! Kevin's wife greeted all of us (including the kids) immediately upon walking in and offered us refreshments while browsing. While we weren't originally looking for a custom ring, Kevin and his wife helped us see what could be done within our budget and within our timeframe. Not once were we ever made to feel like our budget was insufficient. At no point in time did we ever feel like we were "being had" or like we were dealing with a "used car salesman". Kevin walked us through options, made recommendations, and even showed us some stones he had on site. He explained the things he looked for when selecting stones, settings, etc...and patiently answered all of our questions. There was a bit of a hiccup in the final delivery of our ring but Kevin managed to get everything sorted out and really went out of his way to do right by us. The hiccup wasn't anything catastrophic but Kevin's efforts were definitely welcome and much appreciated! He really went the extra mile to provide absolutely amazing customer service. Kevin is truly,truly wonderful and runs a fantastic establishment! Much thanks to Kevin and staff for the beautiful ring, an excellent experience, and the superior service!!!! I had a thin, gold-plated necklace with beads that had broken when it was taken off of the card that held it. The repair that was needed would most likely involve some form of soldering the two pieces together, and I had an amount in mind that I would be wiling to pay given that this is more of a "fun" piece and not fine jewelry. When I walked into New York Jewelers, I was promptly greeted and shown upstairs, to the repair area. The woman behind the counter took the necklace and consulted with a gentleman in the back. I had errands nearby to run, but decided to stick around to get an estimate of time and cost. Initially, I was told this could not be done, but it turned out that the two pieces were somehow able to be soldered together. The cherry on top of this experience is that all of this was done at no charge! The woman who helped me said that after the fusing procedure, a slight bump could be seen between the gold plated portion and a bead. What she was pointing out was imperceptible to my eye. I was so pleased with the level of service, speed, and professionalism that I will be back here to get a battery put in my watch and for any other repairs when the time comes.
