I purchased a pendant for my husband's ashes. Took it to Neptune Society for them to insert his ashes. Pendant was faulty. It needed to be soldered or I needed a new one. Bella Cosa soldered it (3rd trip there). The chain came apart. Went back over there. They said the chain that came with the necklace was a "starter". Why? I had to purchase another chain (which was more stout). They gave me $30 credit toward new chain. I would have been better off purchasing a necklace from Neptune Society in the 1st place! We had spent quite a lot of time searching for the perfect wedding band for my fiancée, and after visiting many other stores we stopped at Bella Cosa. She was able to pull strings to get a pre-release sample from the designer so that we could examine the ring in person. We decided we wanted to make some customizations, and Samantha helped us to design a modified ring based off of the sample she had provided, with the result being exactly what we wanted. Gently asked if they'd consider a small donation to support a LOCAL (not Chicago) youth community sports team and they answered very rudely: we do sponsor some things but we will not sponsor your team. It is my experience that not every company will be able to contribute---I get that. My issue is the rudeness and tone that was taken. There are more constructive ways to decline. Being newly engaged, my ring was a little big, but I didn't want to be apart from my ring for long. I emailed them to see how the resizing process works, and lo and behold, I got a response back quickly. They do use and check their email feature! Off to a good start... I worked with Michelle, who helped me coordinate a day that worked with my schedule, her schedule, and was a day the goldsmith would be in too. This allowed me to have a same day resizing, which I was thrilled about. I got to the store shortly after it opened, and was greeted by many smiles and friendly faces. The store itself is vast, sparkly, and immaculate. Michelle was there and helped get everything set up for me- I was also there ti get an appraisal for insurance on my ring. If you're bringing in an outside ring, bring the paperwork you have with it. This helped my process remain same day. They provided me with a ticket explaining everything that would happen, including the fact that since my ring was rose gold, they could not guarantee their color would match my ring. I was told my ring would be ready by 5. I got another email around 2 that the ring was ready! I was so happy to go back earlier than anticipated. The work is flawless, I can't see where the ring was sized in the slightest! I got all my necessary documentation and was on my way in minutes. We had a relatively inexpensive (around $100) necklace with a sterling clasp that was not working properly. We took it to Bella Cosa to have the clasp replaced. I wish I got the name of the sales associate I worked with. She was not helpful and was not pleasant. I can to get a ring sized and asked an opinion and she basically was like well fingers change all the time so you just have to figure it out. Didn't offer any advice or help or Input at all. Made sure to point out me diamond was "Cuban zirconia". Which it's not a natural diamond but it's not a cubic zirconia either....but what does that even have to do with sizing. And what if I didn't know? Was her plan to make me cry. Yikes. And the cost of the sizing was double other jewelers I called and was going to take 10-14 days "because we have one goldsmith and we are busy". Initially she said 7-10 days and then it doubled. No thanks. I went elsewhere and dealt with much more pleasant people, for half the price and a quicker turn around time. read more

So when it came time to plan out my Christmas shopping and I settled on building a Pandora bracelet for my mom, I was less than lost. I was utterly hopeless. Poor clueless me thought I could just buy a bracelet and a charm and be done, but she helped me understand I also needed clips to hold the beads in place. When I asked if I could buy a catalog, she told me I could just take it! (Counter that to my experience at an online store, which wanted to charge me $5 for a jewelry box and $6.95 for a catalog!) She must've sensed my nerves, because she even told me an adorable little story about a You Tube video she'd watched earlier in the day to make me laugh and hep put me at ease. And when the transaction was complete, she took the time to gift wrap my presents. She even gave me a beautiful free ornament! My husband purchased my engagement ring and we purchased our wedding bands at Bella Cosa. I'm really torn about how I feel about this jewelry store. Most of the saleswoman are very pleasant to deal with. I come in for cleanings and to have my rings checked every so often, never have to wait more than a few minutes. Regular cleanings and once a year rhodium re-plating are included! They have a beautiful selection of rings (Tacori, Verragio, etc.) and jewelry. My husband was steered toward a name-brand setting. It is beautiful but I think he could have gotten more for his money had he gone for a none name-brand setting. The rhodium plating process and upkeep on white gold wasn't explained to him either. The week after my husband gave me my ring, I went in to have it re-sized. I picked it up the same day, which was great! However, I noticed black spotting on the bottom of the band where it was re-sized. The saleswoman I dealt with claimed she couldn't see it & that my ring would get scratched up anyways... I went home and googled the spotting. Apparently rhodium-plated rings should be re-plated after re-sizing (Bella Cosa did not do that). I suffered with the spotting and had the ring re-plated before our wedding. So it's no longer an issue but disappointing none the less... All in all, I would probably purchase other items here since they have a great selection. "A-OK" is probably the correct rating! read more

My husband and I first went in when he just wanted an idea of what I was looking for, the owner of the store was very helpful and we narrowed down what I wanted and he saved the information for when my husband went back, a couple months later he went back and this time worked with Samantha, he created the ring with her help. Since he proposed iv'e gone back to get my ring sized which took less than 24 hours, i've taken it to get cleaned, and when i accidentally bent it they fixed it right up very quickly.
