The service here is outstanding!! I came in randomly because the clasp on my Omega Seamaster bracelet was stuck and wouldn't open. As they were taking my information to get the watch sent over to Omega, I asked if it would be possible to take the watch off the bracelet so I can use the rubber strap that I have at home. They sent it down to their in-house repair team and a specialist came up 5 min later saying that the reason the clasp was stuck was because a small screw fell off and that he'd be able to fix and replace the screw. 10 min later he returned the watch with the bracelet working like new and they didn't charge me anything! So as I was getting ready to pull the trigger and I asked if they could do any better on the price. (I asked like $100-$200) off. It was around a 6k watch. Purchased a timepiece from Burdeens this past week and really enjoyed my experience working with them. I originally popped in a couple of weeks before to see their stock and get some pricing on a couple watches I had my eye on. Kevin was super helpful and transparent from a pricing standpoint. I called him back the day I was ready to purchase and he set the watch aside for me. Once I arrived, I worked with Michelle to get checked out and get my rubber strap cut to length. She was super patient as it took a few cuts to get the sizing right. She saw I wore another watch into the store and gave me an awesome watch travel case that will come in handy! While we waited for the strap, she registered my warranty and even walked me around the store and let me try on a couple of other pieces I was interested in. The shop itself is really cool, they have a wide variety of jewelry as well as a large selection of watches. I have been a customer of Burdeen's over the last five years. During that time, I have purchased six (6) high-end used timepieces. All but one of those purchases were made from out of state. One was made this summer when I had a chance to visit the brick-and-mortar store on Oak Street in Chicago (and man, what an impressive and beautiful store!). Of the six purchases, 1/2 were traditional deals where after some negotiation, we reached a fair price. As for the other 1/2, those involved trades, and Burdeen's offered fair trade values so we could work out a deal (realizing, like any trade with any type of dealer, the trade value of your item will be less than the retail value). On two occasions, when I received a watch, there were minor issues that needed to be resolved. One was a JLC that was very stiff to wind. Burdeen's worked out the issue with me so I could have it serviced. That was the first watch I bought, and I was so impressed by their customer service that I continued my relationship with them. The second occasion was a VC I purchased recently that was advertised as a full set. Once I received it, and I tried to wear it, it became evident two original bracelet links were missing. This was an excusable and reasonable oversight. Immediately, Burdeen's took steps to correct it and in short-order delivered to me two links to make the full set from VC. The other four transactions were perfect. I highly recommend Burdeen's. I initially worked with Kevin G, and more recently have worked with Cameron L. Both were straight-shooters, direct, responsive, and detail-oriented. However, my most recent experiences with Cameron have been joyful. He takes an interest in his customers, is friendly (as in he's reached buddy status), and I felt he went to bat for me with the house when we worked out our deals. Based upon the variety, quality of watches, straight-forward negotiations, and attention to customer service, there are few reasons, if any, to go anywhere else to purchase a high-end, high-orology, timepiece, whether online or in person. I have been a watch enthusiast for a while, but up until the past few months all of my purchases were done in person mostly through luxury dealers. After doing my research, it was clear that online watch shopping is the only way to get the pieces I really wanted for the best prices. I went to several websites and did my homework on reliable jewelry/watch stores around the county and it was obvious that Burdeen's was a company I should contact. I reached out by email and got a quick response from one of their client advisors, Cameron. Since this was my first experience with online watch shopping, I took this process very slow and I must say that Cameron was extremely patient and easy to communicate with. Over the period of about two months, we emailed back and forth over 70 times, had multiple calls and set-up two Zoom sessions so I could see the different watches I was interested in. During the whole process I never felt any pressure to buy and felt that he really tried to understand what I was looking for. In the end, I purchased a couple of used watches (Rolex, IWC, Breitling) for a very reasonable negotiated price. I paid by bank wire a few days ago an received them all in perfect condition yesterday. Even with all the communication, one of my main concerns was making sure the watches were authentic (so many fakes out there). Knowing that Burdeen's is an authorized dealer of several luxury brands was a bit of a comfort, since selling a fake could jeopardize that business. But just to be safe I did take my new watches to a local watchmaker this afternoon to get authenticated. As expected, he said they were all legitimate and now I can wear them with ease of mind. Overall I was very impressed with Cameron and my experience at Burdeen's. Something tells me that I will be a repeat customer. read more

Bought a Panerai from them that within less than 2 years had to be sent back to Panerai multiple times for repairs. The first time I was told that Panerai claimed the issue was due to my care for the timepiece, so therefore I had to pay around $700 for the repair. I agreed to, but then the repair didn't fix the issue. When I took it back months later, they then said they would send it in again and then told me it was fixed and returned only a few days later. Obviously it had never been sent back to Panerai. Perhaps an honest mistake, but when I disputed the original charge asking for compensation saying I paid for a repair that didn't repair the time piece, they said they tried, but there wasn't anything they could do. When I asked for the paperwork showing that it was actually sent to Panerai, they proceeded to send me the "full" transaction paperwork including their acquisition - showing their wholesale cost. Another accident perhaps, or maybe a slap in the face. Nevertheless, unprofessional and unacceptable. Knowing what they profited and unwilling to compensate for the inconvenience, I would not recommend. read more

But if you don't walk in dressed a certain way, drive up in a certain car, talk a certain way etc....they hardly talk to you and will not follow up on specific questions you have asked. I went in on a weekday dressed casually and I don't waste money being flashy. But I was ready to drop $50-$100K on an engagement ring but no one seemed to care. And when someone finally decided to help me, it was very non-committal and disinterested. When I asked this woman to get some information and get back to me.....crickets. So....my learnings...if you want to get dressed up, show off and be pampered, this is the place. If you just want to go in, conduct business and buy a piece of jewelry, avoid at all cost.
