We called that afternoon and set up an appointment with Jeff Stucker Monday morning. When he got here on time, he was shocked with how big the crack was. It was clearly an emergency situation and he was able to have a quote done quickly and a crew scheduled for that Friday morning. They were there early and worked thru the day and came back first thing Monday morning to finish it. After everything was cleared out they put the big things back in place and left it as clean as you could want after felling a 150+ year old tree. It was really big. They…read morecame out promptly and were extremely knowledgeable concerning what I needed done in addition to other issues they noticed. In trying to make things easier to handle, a worker was informed to cut off supporting branches of a huge limb that was perched on my tree. Doing so caused the limb to break free of the tree itself and not just pull out my power lines to my house, but also hit the roof in a way that caused the eaves and connected gutter to separate some from the roof itself. They did the job quickly and got all branches up as stated, but their cleanup afterwards was limited primarily to the branches and the initial blowing off of the roof to work on it. The roof and the walkway to my house were left covered in saw dust. Before I paid the company, their responses were quick and professional. After they left and I noticed the damage to the roof -- all that would be needed was to hammer the eaves back in and make sure no further damage is done to the gutter -- it took hours to hear back from the company. A week ago they said they would send someone out to do a quick repair and I imagine since they have the money, they have no need to try and continue to provide good service.

He said he would do his best to get out sooner, but he couldn't make any promises since there was so much rain and they were backed up, but then they wound up coming out the very next morning, which was a week earlier than our actual appointment. They were one of many estimates we received and they came in with the best price and timeline with the trim, removal and stump grind coming in around $1,000. Many other estimates were running us $2,500+, so we were happy to have found Silver Axe. They were timely, professional and knowledgeable during the quoting phase and while on site. Our house featured above ground power lines that came close to the oak tree in the front yard, and they handled this well to ensure nothing happened to our connection. The tree in the back and subsequent stump grinding was done well. I do wish I would have paid the bit extra to have them haul the chips off, but I decided to fill in some spots on the fence line with the wood chips, and they made their way into my grassy area eventually which became a pain...so lesson learned. Overall, Silver Axe came in clutch and helped us solve a few tree issues we had. The trims were great and the dead tree removal was a lift of stress we no longer had to worry about. I spoke with one co-owner (Javier) for estimate/consultation, and the other (Adrian) was on site supervising the work. They both answered all of my questions and were very insightful. It truly seemed as though they enjoy spending time with their customers. It couldn't have been any easier. There were no attempts at cross-selling/pressure to do more. All in all a great experience, and I highly recommend.
