A cautionary review Years ago, I had rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Toft. During the procedure, so much bone and cartilage was removed that one side of my nose eventually collapsed entirely. I also recall being conscious while he chiseled away at my bone -- an experience I found deeply unsettling. The damage from this surgery was severe enough that I recently underwent a 6.5-hour reconstructive procedure just to correct the structural problems it caused. This review is mostly about the aesthetician that I had several facials with. I still can't get over how poorly she treated me...the first incident I had purchased the IMAGE vita C hydrating mask. However, when I got home, I didn't have it with me. I called went back and was given the product begrudgingly by the aesthetician. She made me feel like I was being dishonest, which was hurtful , plus I mentioned that I noticed they have the product line available for purchase online it online for much less. She became really mean/nasty saying that it was likely fraud and it wasn't the real thing...at one of their fabulous open houses I went in and specifically to see if they would have any discount or specials for her services they didn't, and she wasn't there, but they told me to wait for her... so I did and she came in she was so unkind/rude. She told me she had no specials for me at all, contrary to what the other girls told me and looked around and wanted to know what I had in my bag that they gave out with samples. Sadly She even asked me what else I had in my bag like I was a thief and it was actually some of the xtra appetizers that I had decided to take home with me. All I can say at this point is get more than one estimate for your surgery, and get more than one opinion AND reference for your surgery. Dr Toft botched my nose when he performed a revision rhinoplasty less than a year after my first rhinoplasty. My original rhinoplasty was performed by a reputable facial plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. My only concern was that the tip of my nose was slightly more upturned than I would have liked. In retrospect, I believe with adequate time, the tip would have settled and I would have been satisfied with the results of my first surgery. Unfortunately, I believed Dr. Toft when he told me he could improve the tip of my nose. Instead, Toft made my nose wide, bulbous, and droopy. I am now stuck with a disfigured nose because of the risks involved in having a third surgery. While Toft may have excellent credentials, my view is that he is a much better businessman than surgeon, and is very defensive when things go wrong. I went to him a few years back for a gummy smile, he told me he could treat it with Botox. He charged me 175.00 for 2 units, saying we don't charge by the unit but instead the area. He convinced me even saying if if doesn't work just come back at no charge and we will do more. Well it didn't work so I went back and he proceeded to tell me it's not possible and I needed a filler and all he would do was give me a 10% discount. Dr Toft is the worst plastic surgeon ever. I had a scheduled eyelid surgery that occurred in 2019 where Dr Toft appeared professional and then after I paid for the procedure he changed. On the day of my surgery he spoke to his nurse during the procedure rather than focus on the task at hand. This action to me is not professional nor acceptable when the focus should have been on the patient and not some playful conversations with others during an important event. Wouldn't you agree?! Once he completed the surgical task, he left the room without saying a word, let alone a post op follow up. I asked the nurse to let me see my eye after the surgery and noticed my left eyelid had an extended incision that was longer and droopier than the other eye. I appealed to the nurse on what I saw and requested to speak with Dr Toft about what I noticed. His response was when he walked into the operating room without listening to my concerns. He immediately shouted and said "stop complaining" with a loud voice. He said give the procedure 6 months to see how the healing progressed, and so I did. I revisited Toft after waiting patiently for 6 months, and his response at this time was, He no longer wants to be my doctor anymore after he ruined my face. Now that it's been almost 18 months, my eye is appearing worse than it was prior to the surgery and now there is a big scar on my face as a result of his careless actions. And this is a board certified Stanford doctor where I paid more than 6,000 to enhance myself? But this was NOT the case! I have heard doctors in Tijuana performing a better surgery than this guy. I met Dr. Toft & staff a little over a year ago, and a year ago today Dr. Toft performed a brow lift, eyelid surgery and facelift on my 61-year-old face. What a difference. "Refreshed" doesn't begin to describe how I feel about the result. Yes, it's costly, but when I look in the mirror I feel better. Which would be the point. At first Dr. Toft is nice to you and patient but after the operation he takes a change for the worst. I had written a detailed review for him, but, unfortunately, the word count limit will not let me post it because it is way to long. But, I have posted his full review on www.realself.com. Just to give a recap, I had a facelift and neck lift surgery done by Dr. Toft. I ended up with a uneven neck and all of the lines, jowls issues returning after 3 months post-surgery. Dr. Toft said that I looked good and it was an improvement so he won't do further corrections, even though, he had stated himself in an appointment prior to this one that my facial and neck muscles had over-relaxed and said that he would take care of it. Anyways, not everyone will go through a bad experience and not everyone will have a good experience. I wish I was sitting here writing a 5 star review like everyone else, but, unfortunately, I am not. Surgeons, carpenters, anyone who provides some kind of service will sell themselves anyway they can to you to try and get your money. Sometimes they may do a good job and sometimes they won't. But, as a human being, when things go wrong they should admit to it and fix the problem and not just blow the person off since they already have their money. In January 2015, Dr. Toft performed a lower Bleph on me. I am 44 years old and I had huge fat pads (bags) under my eyes that were hereditary. They caused me to have dark circles under my eyes and I looked tired and sad. I wore sunglasses all the time and hated to have my picture taken. I had gone to a few other surgeons for consultations but none of them made me feel as comfortable as Dr. Toft and his staff. I was terrified to have the procedure due to all the horror stories I had read on the internet. I mean this is my face that was going to be cut into! I wanted the best surgeon I could find! So we all know we should do our research before selecting a plastic surgeon. I had always planned go back to the excellent San Francisco surgeon who did my eyes 10 years ago. But I live in Roseville now, so I needed to explore options closer to home. I started an exhaustive cyber search and was so disappointed to discover the dearth of resources for objective and unbiased information. My first consultation was with a surgeon in Sacramento who advertised as a facial plastic surgeon, but I soon learned that most of his work was related to breast surgery. It was a very brief consult, and all I could think about was his remark that permanent nerve damage was a possible risk during facelift surgery. I continued to explore and thankfully was able to find several excellent reviews for Dr. Kenneth Toft in Roseville. It was impressed by the fact that he performs facial plastic surgery exclusively. From my first phone call to his office through my 3 month post surgical appointment, I was made to feel very comfortable and well cared for. Dr. Toft took the time to explain all of my surgical and non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation. When he mentioned how many facelifts he had performed and outlined his surgical technique related to the procedure, I knew he was the surgeon for me. I was specifically relieved to learn that he employs the most current surgical techniques which virtually eliminate nerve exposure during a facelift. Prior to my surgery, Jennifer provided a very thorough information session which outlined day by day step by step pre- and post-surgical instructions, guidelines, do's and don'ts. I was amazed that Dr. Toft was able to complete the surgery in a mere two and a half hours, considering all those flawlessly executed incisions. Two weeks post surgery I was treated to a lymphatic massage, which helps to soften up that lumpy bumpy facial tissue and give the healing process a jump start. I actually felt comfortable walking around my apartment complex at two weeks and even went to Walgreen's to pick up a prescription--in broad daylight! This review is so overdue. Dr. Toft performed my procedure in late August. I had visited several other surgeon's offices, but selected Dr. Toft because I was convinced he was a perfectionist, and that is certainly what you want in a facial surgeon. I was also impressed that he ONLY focuses on facial procedures. I was nervous because I was receiving a national award one month after the procedure and I wondered how I would look. Dr Toft promised a natural result, and he and his staff assured me the healing process would go quickly and I would definitely be ready for a public event one month later. Things turned out even better; I was quite comfortable in public one week later. The healing process went very quickly, with surprisingly minimal bruising and pain. I will be going back for a 6 month visit in February, and I will be asking the doctor to make a few small revisions of the scar sites. His preoperative instructions advised of the possibility of the need for some minor revisions, so I was prepared.
