Great food, wow. Please come when you're very hungry so you can try everything. The hibachi was lovely aswell. Really such a big variety of sushi. The service needs to be worked on a little bit though. We had 3 servers, I also wish I got a run down of how the hibachi worked. My friend had been there before but I had mentioned it's my first time. They also didn't know everything so I wish it was explained at least once. I wanted some eggs on mine but I didn't know where. There was seasonings at the end so that was self explanatory, make sure you season your food, don't forget salt.

After checking out this restaurant once (my first Yelp review), I scheduled it for a group of 8 people, as part of a monthly supper club I coordinate. This time it felt like a totally different restaurant than my first foray, perhaps because we were there on a busy Friday night, but also perhaps because I heard it changed ownership in the past few weeks. Unlike the first time, when we were seated right away, they made all 9 of us wait in the barely-cooler-than-the-humid-outdoors lobby for 30 minutes for our table (I made reservations 2 weeks in advance, and usually restaurants have that large a table already set up and let us be seated early as people from our group arrive). The big beautiful ceramic bowls I received the first time were replaced with smaller metal bowls, the fried items weren't labelled this time and one of the soups was mislabeled (it said chicken soup but was really a warm tapioca soup). The wait staff was inconsistent, only gave instructions to half the table and didn't speak loud or clear enough for most of us to hear -- though as the meal progressed, they worked very hard to get all our selections out to us. Though near they end, they just dumped the receipts on the end of the table -- with people's credit cards in them -- for us to sort out whose was whose. It was much too noisy for us to have a lot of conversation. It was a hectic night, with crowds that seemed to come in waves. But despite the issues, the food was as as varied, fresh, and tasty as I remembered. It was cooked on the spot in small batches, & was innovative, creative, and delicious. My favorites this time were the chicken skewers, the hibachi bowl, the brownie bites and that sweet tapioca soup. There was such a wide variety of choices that each of our 9 trays looked completely different!! Everyone did enjoy the great variety, all of the sushi and sashimi options, and the fresh healthy food of good quality. I'll probably not schedule this restaurant for this group again, as we prefer a quieter place where we're treated with better customer service. But I'll be back myself at a less busy time, as the food and quality are worth making this part of my dining repertoire.

We were visiting and noticed this restaurant. I am so happy we decided to try it. It was great. There are not many times that I leave a restaurant thinking the food was totally worth the price, but this was it! My husband is already planning the next time we can drive the 2 hours from home to eat here again. Food was great, plus the restaurant is clean and bright. A very welcoming experience. Everyone needs to eat here so they can stay open forever!

Tokyo Grill is an all you can eat sushi and hibachi buffet. The service was excellent. The servers were super nice and is kid friendly. The restaurant was super clean, the food was fresh and there were tons of options to pick from! Someone was celebrating a birthday and they stopped the music and started playing a bday song. The entire restaurant joined. It was very cute. We will definitely be back!

I think the Tokyo Grill and Sushi Buffet in Mason has taken my #1 spot for best Asian Buffet. The first time I came here (a couple months ago), I had a bit of an interesting start. We arrived at 11am hungry and craving a buffet, however, the building wasn't open. We waited in the car and after a while called the place to ask if it was open. The lady on the phone said they're still getting the food ready but that we could sit in the restaurant and wait. Upon walking in, she was apologetic and gave us our drinks. It took another 15 minutes for the food to be ready, but the entire time her and the staff were very nice. They have a hibachi section, buffet section of sushi, some pots of soup, fried appetizers, and plenty of dessert options. The way they portion the food in little baskets and plates I found to be really cute and convenient. The food was nice and hot, flavorful, and eye candy from the moment I saw it. The dessert was slightly sweet and was light on the stomach compared to other buffet foods. I'm so glad we stayed and waited because now this is my designated sushi buffet, lol. The place is clean, the atmosphere feels light and as if I was in a relative's house for dinner, and the food was great. Highly recommend this place!

Saw all the posting on the place in FB and decided to try this place out. We came here for lunch and they had a good crowd eating lunch. I love sushi and my wife does not so it's a great place for non sushi eaters. They have hibachi and others fried foods that one may like including fried chicken strips or wings. You get a tray to put all your food in and you will see in the pictures they use small metal baskets for their fried foods The sushi selection was incredible and they have sides like edamame and daikon radish. Service was great where they will take the tray and dishes off the table and there were good on refills. Hard to believe it was once a Ruby Tuesday as they really redecorated the inside including a water display. I will be going back to get my sushi fix but this allows you to get small portions of different rolls.

Hibachi. You select your veggies and protein and they cook it up for you.

A fun place with so many options. The hibachi was delicious. Then they have an entire buffet of sushi other Chinese meals and desserts!

Ask the Community - Tokyo Grill & Sushi Buffet - Mason

What is available during lunch hours?

Pretty much the same at lunch as it is at dinner except there may be a bit more meat choices at dinner. They are both good and plentiful.

We need gluten free and dairy free. Has anyone eaten here successfully with those requirements?

Yes, my family is both gluten and dairy free and this restaurant had plenty of options. BTW- We loved this restaurant and wish we had one in our hometown.

Is there many vegetarian or vegan options? Are items labeled clearly of what they are?

Yes! While I can't speak from a vegan perspective, I am a vegetarian and have been there twice and found plenty of great food to eat. There are vegetarian options for hibachi, and many buffet options such as salad, fruit, and vegetables. And…

    Is it halal?

No this restaurant is not Halal

    Do they serve alcohol?

    Yes

Do they serve alcohol, beer, or wine? Or, just soft drinks and tea?

Beer or wine is alcohol, so yes

We were aiming for dim sum a couple doors down, but they were slammed and had no out of the way place to wait. So, we walked a few yards and went into Kawa. Tablets are used to order appetizers, drinks, etc. All delivered by a robot or a train on a track above the conveyor. The sushi itself, along with other items like dessert, rolls by constantly. The best part, pricing is clear. Everything on the belt is $3.45 per plate, subject to change, of course. The sushi was fresh and the portions were in line with the prices. If you've never had conveyor belt sushi or you just want to try something a little unique to the Cincinnati area, Kawa is the place. While this location is a little out of the way for us, Hyde Park is a quick drive and we will return.
