If I could give this place a zero, I would. Racism still lives. When you walk into an establishment you expect the people who work there to love their job regardless of what the customer looks like. I must've walked in there straight faced because it smelled in there, because the lady at front desk was favoring white women more then even her own race. I always get the steak hibachi and it comes with rice and vegetables. The prices are super affordable. This is considered a fast food hibachi place. My latest exploration of Hibachi dishes in the area took place at this small spot in the Whitaker Square strip center off of Peacehaven - the center is anchored by Harris Teeter and Chick-fil-a. I ordered the Scallops and Jumbo Shrimp Hibachi ($15.49), comes with rice and grilled vegetables, no soup or salad included. The largest part of the dish was the " fried" rice - it was clumpy, not a single grain separated, thus almost certainly was recycled from a previous day or week! There were only 3 scallops, and five shrimp, which would I would not term as jumbo. There was a less than generous amount of vegetables, which lacked texture. Doordash only experience! I was stoked to see a new option for doordash on a lazy Sunday, as there weren't any hibachi options previously. I am a hibachi fanatic, but surprisingly I had not previously heard of Tokyo House One. Jokes on me, cause this was bomb! I got the steak and shrimp bowl and it was LOADED UP! Huge portion, steak was super tender, shrimp had great flavor. The rice was great, veggies cooked tender. The white sauce portion was generous and it was really good! I will definitely be going by for an in person experience, but delighted to know this is a doordash option for the days I just want something easy and delicious. read more

At 3:30pm Thursday. Fair amount of foot traffic, take out. Good friendly fast food Japanese. Filling. Good taste and Fillet cooked to match well my preference of Medium Well. Nice feel / texture with my vegetables. Sandy's didn't include vegetables. Mayonnaise based sauce is perfect not over bearing. Very large hot green tea. Made for a chill dine out experience after nearby Doctors - Dermatology appointment. Initially was going to BAGEL STATION but it and BREAKFAST RESTAURANT had closed at 2pm. So happy that TOKOYO HOUSE 1 was open in this beautiful day. While dinning in was able to see CNN reporting on HURRICANE MILTON and Florida. Both Sandy and I have ties to Florida and therefore we are emotionally vested with the situation. Sandy gave me the last bite of her CHEESE STEAK egg roll. She was impressed with it, me not so much. Found it greasy and remaining meat gristly , wish didn't bite it as was plenty happy with my bowl and the positive memory. Anyways would definitely come back to this well run and friendly business. We were going to get Chinese but the place was unexpectedly closed the day after New Year's, and Tokyo House One was really close by, so we went for it. There were three of us. Between us, we got the chicken hibachi, chicken teriyaki, spring roll, and tofu teriyaki. We were all really pleased. It also came with three cartons of yum yum sauce. It made for a relaxing girl's night. It was well packaged in the plastic divider containers that have real lids (unlike the foil things with paper lids that leak everywhere), so you don't have to worry about messing up your trunk. My family has order take-out from Tokyo House One a handful of times now. It has become one of our top picks on nights when we are busy and need a quick meal. I usually order the large mixed vegetables and a sushi roll. My partner usually orders the chicken and steak hibachi. So far, we've never had an issue with our order. The staff is friendly. Definitely lived up to my expectations on a good Hibachi meal. I had the steak and shrimp Hibachi plate. I received a sizable portion of both the steak and shrimp along with a generous serving of white rice. I do believe you can opt for fried rice if you so choose to do so. I ordered this near closing via DoorDash and they quickly accepted my order. My meal came promptly. The food was the right temperature and all neatly packed in the takeout bag. I completely forgot to take pictures because I was so hungry. Might have to turn in my Yelp card for that error. We got take out since the dining room is still closed as of March 2022. The Vegetable Tempura was decent, but the broccoli was either over blanched or started off as frozen broccoli to begin with. It was like green mush tempura, but the other veggies were perfect. The Teriyaki Chicken Bowl is pretty basic. The chicken was a little tough, teriyaki sauce a little mild, but tons of steamed white rice. We also got a California roll and Spicy Tuna Roll, both were pretty good and very inexpensive at $6 each. I tend to find hibachi quick service restaurants to be a bit bland and boring and this one fit the bill perfectly. I'd eat here again for sure, but I'll doctor it up with some Ponzu, wasabi, pickled ginger and Sriracha. read more

I really like Tokyo House One. I've been quite a few times and find the food to be consistently tasty. I typically order chicken or chicken and steak. They are kind enough to substitute out the rice for extra veggies. The service varies but the food is typically served quickly and accurately at a reasonable price. Went here for lunch yesterday before going Tommy afternoon shift for work. Not a bad place, but it doesn't wow me either. The menu is standard as they have everything from sushi to hibachi. I chose to go with the Hibachi Chicken and Steak (well done) and it came with mixed vegetables and rice. I am not a huge fan of soy sauce and I thought there may have been too much in the Hibachi but other than that there was no complaints. Mine was about 9 bucks and some change and it did not include a drink which was about 2 bucks more. It was reasonable and I got a solid amount as well for the price. I do want to note that I liked how the place have their wifi name and password on a sticky note on the wall above the sauce. Since we are all technology savvy these days it's nice that it was posted somewhere most restaurants don't do that at all. It's small details like this which make a restaurant more enjoyable beyond the food. I would come back here again, but would prefer Kimono if I had a choice . read more

I was craving stir-fry vegetables after shopping at Harris Teeter and ended up here. I got the chicken hibachi lunch special with a soda. And it was overpriced and awful. We've used this place many times now for takeout. They are super fast and the prices are reasonable. Hibachi meals are served with mixed vegetables (onion, broccoli, zucchini, carrot) and rice. It's never been a problem or extra cost to substitute extra veggies for the rice. The salads are always a must for me as they are a vehicle for consuming the ginger dressing. The green salad is iceberg lettuce with cucumber and grape tomatoes. The avocado salad is iceberg, tomato, and thinly sliced, perfectly ripe avocado. The food is consistently yummy but out of the last 5 orders two have been wrong. I will check my orders before I leave going forward. read more

Pretty decent take out Japanese food. We ordered the hibachi shrimp, a special combo of steak, shrimp and scallops as well as an order of pork dumplings. Both dishes came with fried rice and were made fresh on the spot. The food was pretty darn good, decently priced and you get plenty of food for your buck. The steak was cooked to the temperature I requested, scallops were super tasty and shrimp were yummy albeit a tad small. The only reason I didn't give five stars were that the dumplings were not very tasty. The interior was super clean with a big screen TV and even free WiFi! Each dish comes with two sauces of your choice and any additional will cost you 25 cents. I definitely look forward to trying some different dishes in the future. read more

It's very hit and miss. The Tempura Shrimp (which is actually Panko Shrimp) is consistently good. The miso soup is good enough. Sometimes the sushi is great, sometimes it's gross. The Eel tends to passable, but the only thing it really has over Lowe's Foods is the price. The tuna I got today may go to the cats. It's that icky. The fried oysters were great the first time around. Got them again last week and they were barely edible. I'm kind of over it. Maybe their other types of dishes are better. But I think the most I'm game for is the miso and shrimp. read more

We have been here for lunch several times and the food is fresh and tasty! It can get crowded during lunch so be sure to snag a seat quickly. We've come shortly after the lunch crowd, and it's still fairly busy. We have tried the shrimp, chicken, and steak hibachi and the food never disappoints. The rice is great, and we always have leftovers. The sauces are out front near the drinks, so fill up as you need to. Food comes out on disposable plates and utensils, if you typically have leftovers, I've found it's easier to ask for the food in to-go containers. read more
