Order over the phone and it's ready for pickup in 15-20 minutes! It's a great to-go Japanese. They no longer allow indoor eating so takeout is the only option but this is our go to emergency meal - when forgot to plan for dinner! Typically order the hibachi veggies and they are so generous with the portions. The white saws is lip smacking good and makes you just want to drench your food in it! Can only speak to the food as we got it to go and I sent someone in to get it. Food was very much like most hibachi take out. The protein was good. They asked how I wanted it and I said Med rare and it was well past that. But it was still tender. The shrimp were really good. Kaze is a take out only Japanese restaurant located in a small shopping center. I've driven past it many times and today I decided to stop. I got the teriyaki chicken and steak with fried rice mixed vegetables and sweet carrots. It also came with a small side salad for around 13 bucks. The plate was LOADED. They gave you a choice of two sauces I got white and ginger. The food was soooo fresh and bursting with flavor. I am already thinking about how I want to go back tomorrow that's just how good it was. If you're looking for an inexpensive Japanese meal this is the place for you. My jumbo shrimp entree was only $8.98 which isn't too bad considering the amount of food that you get. My cousin got the regular hibachi shrimp and I got the jumbo shrimp and honestly the size wasn't much different. I would show you his shrimp but somehow they magically disappeared from his plate by the time i got ready to write this review. *insert rolling eyes* lol! The sweet carrots are the best part of it all. The white sauce is pretty good. It's not the BEST hibachi but it's also not terrible. I think it's def something to try for the price point. read more

The hibachi steak and chicken is cooked perfectly and served with rice or noodles and assorted hibachi vegetables, along with weirdly sweet carrot medallions. I started going to Kaze because it was on my way home from work, but I've quickly become a regular. I normally stick with teriyaki chicken with rice or noodles, but every order I've had from there has been delicious. I also like that you get multiple sauces of your choice with each meal. I got some takeout from here tonight and it was solid. Not the worst, but not mind blowing either. I I got the hibachi chicken and steak combination meal which came with fried rice, onions and zucchini, and sweet carrots along with a side salad. I also got hot sauce with my meal because I love spicy food. It was good, hot and fresh. It was about $12 bucks but I got a lot of food for my money so I was pleased and it did not take really long for the food to get done. I would go here again for sure, the food wasn't bad and the device was good. It's a nice place to eat in a weekend especially when I don't feel like going really far from my home since I live in Walkertown, but Osaka and Kimono are better in my opinion. read more

This place makes me laugh. It's local. they have sushi and a nice limited menu. Good hibachi dishes. Here's the funny part, whoever answers the phone does their best to deter you from ordering. They answer the phone before they open to tell you that they won't be open for 10 more minutes. They answer on days they are closed to tell you they are closed. I ordered something to go at 1:45 and the person who took the order told me to keep in mind that they close at 2:30. (they reopen for dinner) I don't want to drive downtown for my California Rolls so I laugh. Besides, it's funny. read more

This was my first visit to Kaze. First impressions... the inside lobby is a disaster. It is cluttered with old furniture, fixtures, shoes, etc. It was very unappealing. There were 2 young ladies sitting in chairs holding puppies inside the establishment. One of the workers was petting a puppy, then proceeded to box food without washing her hands. This led a customer to cancelling her order, which I was inclined to do as well. When the manager was told the reason why, she did not show any concern and allowed the dogs to continue to be in her establishment. One of the young ladies began swearing and saying it was her support dog. It was a puppy and did not meet the requirements of a support dog. I did accept my order. The food was very disappointing and I threw most away. The atmosphere is not inviting. It feels unclean and undermanaged. The food was subpar. Management was unconcerned and disengaged with the customer complaint. This was my first and last visit. read more

We tried it before and liked the sushi but the meal was horrible. Went back today and ordered sushi. I watched the guy making it lick the avocado off of the knife. He knew I saw him do it and he still used SAME knife to cut the sushi roll with. I got a refund and left. They got a second chance, but after this we will NEVER go back. My husband and I are disabled so I'm not able to go eat in at Kaze, but we've had delivery from there a couple of times. I'm not too big a fan of sushi but the spring rolls are wonderful. We've had the Hot and Sour soup and the Wonton, are both are very good and the portions are large so don't get to full of soup to eat too! I love teriyaki and hibachi style of cooking so it takes me awhile to decide what I want but either style you order it's always wonderful, even being home delivered. I like the steak and shrimp and the steak is always cooked to the doneness I ask for. The portions are excellent and the food is always fresh and good. The service is fast too. Try the shrimp anytime and the small ones are almost as big as the jumbo. All entrees come with sautéed veggies including some very sweet carrots that would be good enough for dessert! You can also have fried rice or noodles with the meal. The prices are very good for getting Japanese from a small town restaurant. read more

This is our favorite take-out Japanese restaurant. We live right at the Winston-Salem, Walkertown line and as we all know, there aren't many oriental restaurants available in this area. Kaze offers freshly cooked hibachi or teriyaki dishes and the servings are always too big to eat in one sitting. We absolutely love this food and they have the best 'white' sauce around.
