Teriyaki chicken and steak with rice and mixed veggies
    Jasmine G.

Kaze is a take out only Japanese restaurant located in a small shopping center. I've driven past it many times and today I decided to stop. I got the teriyaki chicken and steak with fried rice mixed vegetables and sweet carrots. It also came with a small side salad for around 13 bucks. The plate was LOADED. They gave you a choice of two sauces I got white and ginger. The food was soooo fresh and bursting with flavor. I am already thinking about how I want to go back tomorrow that's just how good it was. Customer service was on point very friendly cashier. This is definitely my new go to spot for takeout.

Jumbo Shrimp with extra side of sweet carrots
    Jasmine D.

If you're looking for an inexpensive Japanese meal this is the place for you. My jumbo shrimp entree was only $8.98 which isn't too bad considering the amount of food that you get. My cousin got the regular hibachi shrimp and I got the jumbo shrimp and honestly the size wasn't much different. I would show you his shrimp but somehow they magically disappeared from his plate by the time i got ready to write this review. *insert rolling eyes* lol! The sweet carrots are the best part of it all. The white sauce is pretty good. It's not the BEST hibachi but it's also not terrible. I think it's def something to try for the price point.

Every good thing I've heard about it was absolutely true! I called in my order for teriyaki chicken with light teriyaki sauce, no rice and an order of spring rolls. The teriyaki chicken with the light sauce was very flavorful and it was all white meat grilled chicken with a flavorful, obviously homemade teriyaki sauce that was not overly sweet as the commercial teriyaki sauces seem to be. It was very light and flavorful. for $12 I got enough chicken and vegetables for two meals! The spring rolls were good too, but very small for the six dollar price tag. The restaurant had a homie ambience and was spacious with lots of tables for when they have a crowd. The woman who worked there was also very friendly and helpful as she retrieved the plasticware and napkins for me when I asked where they were. She and the other employee were very pleasant. There weren't any patrons in the store today, but I'm sure that later on they will be packed. mama said that my food looks so good that she ordered the hibachi chicken, which is just grilled chicken with no sauce and vegetables and fried rice. She also said her food was delicious and flavorful as well. We love the fact that it is not salty at all, but flavorful. You have to try Kemono Japanese restaurant!

Items I tried: crunchy roll and steak noodles that includes veggies and also comes with a soup or salad. I choose salad with ginger dressing. Pros - clean establishment - sushi was absolutely delicious - my steak was cooked to perfection. They made it exactly how I asked for it - ginger dressing is absolutely delicious - large portions. Enough for at least 3 meals Cons - my friend and I were not greeted when we first came in. I noticed that most others said in their review that the staff greeted them and were very friendly. We were not greeted. In fact, I had to speak first. I pay attention to things like this. - white sauce is not good to me at all. It is not the usual white sauce flavor you get at other hibachi establishments. I am returning soon and will try a couple new things and update this review of necessary. UPDATE: I've gone back 2 more times. Excellent customer service, great sushi, the white sauce was a little bit better, but still not my thing...too thick...too sweet...too much mayo. Springs rolls are gd. Crab rangoon gd.

This is not a high end place or even a place that specializes in sushi, but we thought we would give it a shot. It is clean on the inside of the restaurant and there is seating inside only. I ordered two basic rolls, while my wife ordered a roll and tempura veggies. I got my rolls in a few minutes and they weren't bad, again this is not high end, but it was decent. The cost at the time the visit was $7 per roll. My wife had to wait for her veggies and when it came out it was not tempura. The veggies were coated in cornmeal and deep fried. They were okay, but DEFINITELY NOT tempura. With the rolls being okay I did try the "tempura" but will pass on that in the future if we visit again.

My traditional spicy tuna roll for $7 was as good as any sushi restaurant I've been to. Place was clean and service was great and friendly. Now... I ordered tempura vegetable appetizer. Ummmmmm ..not tempura, it's just deep fried vegetables. You might as well get a side of ranch and dip it in. And it was very oily. So, not getting that again. I'll be back for the rolls and order other appetizers. Overall I'm glad I came here.

We were originally planning to hit up our usual AYCE spot in Greensboro but didn't want to deal with the wait, so we decided to try Kimono since it's closer to home. Big mistake. Let's start with the rolls - they're basically rice bombs with a hint of fish somewhere in there. If you're into eating mostly rice with your sushi, then jackpot! But if you're looking for that perfect rice-to-fish ratio and fresh, vibrant flavors that good sushi should have, keep driving. The quality is barely a step above what you'd grab from Harris Teeter's sushi counter, and I'm being generous here. The only saving grace was our server, who was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. But friendly service can't make up for mediocre food, especially when the bill hits $120 for three people. At that price point, you expect way better quality. Bottom line: Save your money and make the drive to a better spot. There are too many good sushi places in the Triad to settle for this. Your wallet (and taste buds) will thank you later.

While the ambiance and service were pleasant, the sushi itself did not live up to expectations. It gets one star for bad food and the extra star for the great service.

We were promptly greeted upon entering and shown to our table. The restaurant was about 75% full of other patrons and the dining room was clean and comfortable. Along with regular tables, there was limited seating at the sushi bar. As we began looking over the menu, our server made us aware of the lunch specials on the back page, which was greatly appreciated. I went with the Teriyaki Beef and my wife had the Hibachi Chicken. I chose the side salad with the house ginger dressing and my wife had the miso soup. Both of us went with white rice. Our sides came out pretty quick, and once we finished our sides, our entrees came out like clockwork. The Teriyaki Beef with accompanying vegetables tasted great, but I felt the portion size of both could have been larger. Still, it was a good value. Now, the portion size of the Hibachi Chicken with vegetables was much better, and it may be my choice next time. I want to mention that the sushi I saw being delivered to other tables looked pretty amazing, so the Hibachi Chicken may have to wait. Service was excellent throughout our visit.
