I always buy something, but this is my first review and of course I had to buy a couple of fun cards and a sourdough book that just came in . This shop is not just for gardeners. I spoke with Kelly, who was working at the counter. She was so friendly, welcoming, and sweet and we chatted for a bit. She explained that they also have classes for crafts like jewelry making & candle making. It's something I'm interested in exploring further. She let me know that Angie owned the shop and there were challenges when the pandemic hit. I'm so heartbroken that so many small businesses were adversely impacted. I love supporting small businesses. Like I told Kelly small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. They have a prayer request wall. I submitted a request along with the myriad of requests already hanging. So much prayer needed in these times. I thought that is so cool & gracious on the shop owner's part. What a blessing! You can tell that children find the shop magical! They were awestruck by many of the items on display. Hearing their squeals of delight brought joy to my ears & warmth to my heart. It is a feast for the eyes. It's decorated so tastefully, it's organized, clean and bright. I couldn't help myself and made a few select purchases for gift giving. Don't take my word for it! The service was amazing- they were so sweet and I asked about how long they have been there and she said 7 years, which I was amazed by- she said that they started as a workshop place and expanded their gift shop but they do still offer classes. We can't wait to go participate. Everything was adorable. It is a bit pricey, but I love supporting small local businesses, and can't wait to go back when I need special gifts or just something cute. I will drive 2hrs once I run out of my Lavender and Lemon lotion. It is THE best. I keep a smaller lavender lotion in my house but the Lavender and Lemon Lotion I keep in my car (though the bottle does expand in the heat, so I be sure to take it out for a breather). It smells so good! HIGHLY recommend fo lavender fans. For me, the scent calms me down in traffic and I love the smell on my skin. It lingers on my skin all day and keeps my skin soft hydrated. There are other products I have not tried and it is a very cute small-business. The store is small, but it has a great selection of body care and home fragrance items many of which are of course fragranced with lavender. I had to get some liquid hand soap and some room spray. As we walked in, my husband noticed the clear plastic barrier around the checkout counter and casually asked if it was a COVID barrier. Instead of simply answering the question, the woman behind the counter immediately responded that it was "the stupidest thing she's ever heard anyone say." At first, we honestly thought she was joking because the response was so unexpected. It quickly became clear that she was being completely serious. We were taken aback by how rude and dismissive she was over a simple question. Customer service makes a huge difference, especially in a small local business. We chose to leave without purchasing anything and took our business elsewhere. Hopefully future visitors are treated with more courtesy and respect.
