Home Goods has some good high quality items for pretty good prices. And they do a really good job displaying their products. You will find things that you didn't even know you needed. I like how the store is organized. If you have time, start on the left as you enter the store and browse up and down isles until you have gone through the entire store, finding one thing after another of things you think you need. Haha, so true, right? And going through check out is even more cute stuff! Today on a hot day in July, they have already put out Halloween decorations. Nope, I'm not ready for that just yet. I do have to say that I did find some better deals at Michael's. So be sure to keep all options open when shopping for home decor and essentials. read more

Dear Cindy, Maybe you were having a bad day, maybe you just didn't want to help me...but next time; please be more mindful of your attitude b/c you are the front facing employee of the store. You were happy-go-lucky with your regular shopper who was in front of me, but when I asked you a simple question as to why I had to pay more for something I was returning (and thought it was an even exchange); it was like I was asking you to recite the Declaration of Independence. You huffed and puffed, rolled your eyes, and looked at me like I had asked you the most difficult question in your life.... It was a simple answer...the taxes were different from where I purchased the item then to where I was returning it to your store. Sorry if you were having a bad day...so was I...but I still showed up to my job, with a smile on my face and didn't let anyone know what I was going through....I suggest you take the day off or take a breather should that happen again....you didn't do your store any favors by having me write this review.... read more

First of all, I am an interior designer for over 32 years. For my more budget projects, I've been shopping HomeGoods in various location in Los Angeles. I have always found the staff, friendly and helpful. A year ago, I decided to move to Palm Desert and and continued my Residential Interior Design here. I've been to the store a few times. I am not sure what is happening at this location, "Palm Desert CA " , but the staff looks extremely unhappy. specifically one gentleman who calls himself the store manager but he is not. I have seen him picking fights with different clients almost every time I go there. I have tried to strike a friendly note with him, trying to calm him down. At one occasion, out loud, he was telling a client that his job is what people say to "choose wisely" at the beginning of ones career. Once he was staring down at a client to a point where the lady said " Are you staring me down? may I talk to your manager?" and with a great attitude, he responded, "you are talking to him." Long story short, last time I was there I was doing heavy shopping for a 85 year-old woman. Nothing big knickknacks and kitchen items and Home Staples. I was doing a small project for her here at the desert. she has various ailments and I had to be careful choosing the right products for her, which is light enough and easy to operate. Thus it took me over two hours in the store to do selection of various items.. I think that had raised a red flag with the staff. I was treated so poorly there. I had over five workers approaching me and asking " can we help you with something? it seems you've been here for a long time . Every time I would respond, yes I am buying for a client. I need to make the right the selections. it takes time . I do understand store security is important and shrinkage is a problem, but not everybody is a thief . I do believe of myself dressing up nicely and present presenting not like a bum . At the end, yes, the same gentleman approached me aggressively with the same question. I broke out in anger, saying "is there a problem sir? " I'm spending over $800 worth of products here. Nevertheless, I was followed by him until I went to the checkpoint and paid for the products and left the building. Funny enough, he knows me from previous purchases from him, which always has been over five to $600. I tried to make a complaint to their head offices. I got a email saying that my concern has been sent to the store manager Sylvia "something" and she will get back with me ASAP. This was a month ago and no one did. again it's a pity. I love the store and most probably I will be shopping at their other locations, but this one definitely has some major staff issues . I will not be returning there. Sunday, 2-11-2024: I have shopped here many times before and can't believe I've never written a review. My daughter and I love this store for the variety and prices. Today, I brought my neighbor friend shopping and I believe this was our last stop before having merienda. I noticed the prices have risen since I last shopped here and it has been a while. I took one star off because I was used to it being neat, tidy, orderly, and organized. Today there were parts of the store that was in disarray and some aisles had items strewn on the floors that you couldn't navigate a shopping cart through it. I have never seen it in this manner before. I hope it was just an off day. Anyhow, my friend was on a quest today to find some vases for her house. She hit pay dirt as I saw her full of brightly colored glass vases. She was overjoyed that her search was over & they were on sale! Check out was quick & friendly. I love Home Goods. I came here looking for a porch welcome sign and pillows. I did not find a sign but was able to get some nice pillows for a reasonable price. This is a smaller HomeGoods than the other HomeGoods I've shopped at. Expect very long lines when coming here. The best time to shop, I find, is an hour before closing. There are less people around that time, and you don't have to squeeze your way past people in the aisles. The employees are always in a good mood, and are always tidying up the store. Some items here are a hit and miss, but that is to be expected. Overall, I've had good shopping experiences here. read more

Went to HomeGoods with my wife, of course, and as usual they had the shelves stocked and organized. We found a 12" frying pan for $12.99 which was being sold on Amazon for $59! We bought a few other things but that was the best purchase. We appreciated the customer service provided by Joanne because she wrapped our glass items with care like a gift. I stopped in here for the first time on a weekday afternoon just to browse, not looking for anything in particular. HG is one of those organized chaos stores with lots to look at and bargains to be had. I love to shop and don't mind sifting through things - stock is always changing so if you see something you like, you need to grab it! I didn't see any sales people around if you needed help. I got some nice bath soaps to keep on hand but when I reached the checkout area, the line was winding sooooo long that I ended up abandoning my finds as things weren't moving very quickly. So it seems that this HomeGoods needs more staffing in the checkout area! I don't want to be spending more than 5-10 minutes in a line, so this is a real drawback for me. read more

But this HomeGoods just seems to always have the extras.. whether it's holiday decor, gifts for my wife (she loves certain name brands for her kitchen). Don't sleep on the pet selection here too.. pet beds, treats, toys, etc are all incredible value. I have not really had to ask anyone for help here but I'll go ahead say the checkout is always great with speed and service. This place is always packed and why not, it's filled with things you could use in your home! I could spend hours in here and thank goodness that I don't. Although the prices I find are reasonable I could easily do damage to my pocket book if I were here for an hour! I like that this place always seems to be well stocked and orderly even with customers rummaging through. When I was here a month ago I was in search of some assistance and a gal was able to locate her manager to help us with our questions on a furniture piece. I walked in here wanting to look at some of the gift bags and hopefully find the size and theme that I needed. Well, as always I leave with more than what I needed. Today's visit was no different. The prices are so reasonable I can't help myself. This is a great place to find photo frames for a good price all the time. You don't have to wait for a sale. Although it looks like they may be limited on the frame sizes, at least during this visit. I left with gift bags, wall decor, hand towels, wash cloths, picture frames, toys and even candy! You can get sheets, towels and pillows. As well as throw pillows for the couch. Lots of nick knacks and lots of wall art. They also usually have the fake plants and trees. My latest visit I was looking for a fake tree for a corner of the room. Found a cool looking palm tree but of course no price tag, my luck. Looked around and all the same size trees were $99.99. I have a lot of fun exploring this store, and there's always something new whenever you stop by! The prices really are excellent, and there is a great selection of furniture on clearance especially. Fairly helpful employees, although I have to withhold one star due to a weird interaction. I called to ask if a recliner I liked could be disassembled into two pieces because I saw online that other people had done it with the same model. It was so it could fit in my car. The employee said this was impossible, that there is no way that can be done! Then they transferred me to someone else who said it absolutely can and would be done! I came here 11/11/22 late afternoon, and spent 10 minutes finding what I came for, then I got in line which the end way back in the middle of the store, where the furniture is. I counted 30 people standing in line, but there were only 3 cashiers. The line zigzaged, then the tail went way back to the middle of the store, you could not see the end. When I got to a cashier 30 min later, I told her why don't they have more cashiers , that I have to wait 30 min in line when it took me 10 min to find the three things I needed. Cashier said it was a holiday (so what, Veterens Day) and kids were out of school. I didn't see any kids in the store. I recently bought a rug there. It was beautiful but didn't go with my decor so it went back only two days later. The lady was above and beyond Not friendly. She unrolled the rug and looked at every inch. I understand inspecting it but this was obsessive! I mean I had purchased-it two days prior and decided it's just not going to work. It even still had the tags on it. I love home gods but this lady left me with a bad headache. I had to go to work and she took so much time looking over the bed obvious! The rug looked super clean because it is new! You can spot a stain pretty quickly and she almost took out a magnifying glass. Just ridiculous! read more

Worse HomeGoods I've ever been to. Not one employee had anything to say to the customers as they come in or walk around and shop. There were a some women building the harvest corner . They were so busy doing that one women walked by me and walked by so close I felt the air pass between us. I was for sure she was going to run into me. In the process she never once said a word to me. The cashier I had was alittle tiffed because I wanted to keep my gift card and proceeded to talk to other cashiers while I was talking to her. I moved from north county San Diego where we have a nice huge store in Solana beach and slightly smaller in Encinitas. Yet this one in Temecula is tiny. It's like every other discount store: organized chaos of miscellaneous stuff. It's slightly higher priced than a lot of other discount stores but supposedly of better quality. You really have to know what to look for though. Otherwise, you'll just be buying something you don't really need but want because of their "compared to" sticker prices. I rate them higher though because you can find good deals. And we have a membership credit card for cash back. Their cashier line is in between more frequently enticing items, which seems to get a lot of people to spend more (myself included). Tip: best deals are usually on furniture items. Don't go here if you're looking for strictly quality or the best pricing. You'll most likely be dissatisfied. read more

Shout out to JOHANNA for having the WORST attitude in customer service. I'm calling you out. Never have I been treated by such rude behavior. I needed to make an return and unfortunately didnt have my receipt and she told me that it was COMMON COURTESY to tell someone that I was bringing something into the store. There was no one around !!! Treating me like I'm stupid. Then tells me she can't give me the whole refund then tells me she cant do it at all. WRITES THE WRONG NAME on my merchandise card and tells me that when I come back to make another return I can have SOMEONE ELSE CHANGE IT !!!!! What the hell kind of attitude is that ????? She is literally the worst human being. My chest hurt after going here as I was already having a day. Thanks to the manager Susan for understanding and hopefully they fire this rude sob. I am extremely upset and disappointed. I bought a Faber-ware knife block set from the home goods on. As soon as I get home to take it out of the box I realized the package was already ripped inside. I knew something was wrong. As I took everything out I saw that knives were missing and filthy covered in rust and dirty water. Then I pulled the knife block out which was wrapped in plastic it was absolutely disgusting. It was covered in sticky droplets, it was chipped, and it was dusty. I believe this was a return that was not properly taken care of. I went to return it and I asked for compensation especially since this was a STORE CREATED ISSUE and I had to take extra time and gas to return it. The manager said there was nothing she could do. This is the worst experience I have ever had going to a retail store. This was my first time in a HomeGoods and I am beyond disappointed. Especially now that I know they do NOT care about their customers. As a person who works in customer service this is absolutely unacceptable for a multibillion dollar company. I agree this store lacks any real genuine customer service, this has gone on for years. A customer should never have to constantly be seeking out help with the many employees that work at this location in Temecula. *Also, highly important to let corporate know, but during checkout last night one of the managers (I presume) was rudely, loudly reprimanding another cashier in front of all the customers and fellow employees. I feel such matters should be done professionally and quietly so as not to draw attention to an employee, or take them back to your office. I felt bad for this employee, the condescending attitude being received was unacceptable!
