I give this place an A-ok! I am fortunate enough that I have a bunch of friends that work here. Service is great and the owner is really nice. If I don't mind spending a bit more, this is where I would go. The food is delicious and it is a GREAT place for a group setting. Parking can be a bit difficult but it is walking distance from campus...i mean it's across the street from the Stephenson Complex! Ambience is great and quite lively. + 4 Stars Because: - Although their service can at times slow to a crawl they have improved 10 fold since when they first opened. I came in here on my birthday with a party of 20-30 and they got us in and out in about one hour and a half including all of the drinking we did there. The servers are super friendly across the board and their sushi chefs are a funny bunch if you ever get to meet them. - Their food is the best Asian food in Pullman and maybe Moscow too. - They are one of the best food joints for a date too in Pullman. Their atmosphere at night can make you feel like you're in a private smokey room and yet you aren't but is lit well enough that you can still take in your surroundings. - Tokyo Seoul has a huge menu to choose from in mostly Korean and Japanese dishes. They're the only Sushi place in Pullman (sorry, Panda Express and Safeway don't count). - They now serve alcohol, I don't know if they got a full bar but when I was there last they at least serve sake, beer, wine and soju but I wouldn't be surprised if they now serve liquor too considering it's Pullman. - 1 star because: - Doesn't have much of a view - You can get much cheaper Asian food in Moscow and Pullman read more

I really like this place. I've gone a few times, the most recent was Halloween night. They're more on the expensive side when compared to red bento, but their food, to me, is better...from bento boxes to the sushi they have. The beef bulgogi is flavorful, I love it so much, whether it's grilling it myself korean bbq style or ordering it with my bento. The bento had this salad dressing, I can't figure out what's in it but there was this citrus-y (orange?) flavor, strange, but really good! I enjoy their korean bbq as well, but it's hit or miss sometimes, some of the time we'll get many combinations of the little side dishes, other times we'll get less and have to ask for certain things (i.e. the side of kimchi, just an example) that we got last time. fyi extra rice or leaf lettuce is a two dollar charge. :( Service is sokay :( at times I had service that was really good. Most recently Halloween: It wasn't that busy, the waitress gave me a full glass of water and my friend half a glass of water..why? I don't know O_O lol. I had to flag down the waiter or waitress whenever I needed something, maybe I wasn't loud enough but it took many times to get their attention. Pros: best place for sushi in town, I like it better than Red Bento simply because Red Bento took forever to make my Lion King roll which came out after everyone else finished their food, and they are just as pricy. BiBimBap in the hot stone pot is pretty good. I have tried quite a few places in Seattle and this is comparable though not the best, but it's Pullman. What can you expect? The rolls are a good size though a bit pricey so I suggest bringing a few friends and splitting the rolls up so you can have more variety. The bulgogi is good as well Cons: Service is not consistent. This is truly the best Japanese/Sushi restaurant in Pullman/Moscow. The fish is extremely fresh which is very rare since it is very far away from the coast. It is slightly pricier than the other restaurants around. I love the chicken teriyaki and I have tried quite a few rolls and have loved all of them. To find such a thing in a rural portion of the Pacific Northwest is something special indeed. This is the only sushi place around, pretty much. The sushi is alright but overpriced for what it is. The miso soup is served lukewarm, which is off putting. I once ate here and had some kind of buckwheat noodle dish. I became sick (GI) within a few hours. Maybe it was unrelated, but it was off putting enough for me to stay away for a good while. Much later I went back (seeing how it basically is the only sushi place around) and got a bento box. The tempura wasn't served hot either. Overall, this place just isn't very good. Tokyo Seoul is one of the best restaurants to eat in Pullman! I absolutely love the beef and vegetable hot stone bowl (Dolsot bi bim bap). I would recommend that to anyone especially first timers. It's a nice place to hang out, great vibes. The service can be either decent or fabulous depending on the server you get. An older woman served us the first time and was not the most pleasant. But it didn't bother me too much because the food was fantastic. However, the gentleman who served dinner tonight was both friendly and helpful. Despite the shady motel exterior, the food is incredibly tasty! The owners have their fish flown in from Seattle often, so it's about as fresh as you can get it without actually being near the ocean. That being said, the service leaves a LOT to be desired. The last time I went in, the restaurant wasn't busy by any stretch of the imagination and it took over 30 minutes for my party's water glasses to be refilled (spicy sushi!). Also, now you can get food of the same quality for a MUCH lower price point at Red Bento in Moscow, and their servers are more attentive. I'd recommend going there to get good food and be treated with courtesy for a lower price, than get ignored for a price at slightly-more-fashionable Tokyo Seoul. read more

Went in with some friends, they arrived first and told the server we would be coming, but ordered while they waited (they are regulars and knew exactly what they wanted going in) We showed up about 5 mins after they had ordered. Tried to get the attention of the server to order drinks for about 10 minutes. We decided to leave because we were hungry and couldn't get anyone's attention. Our friends later told us it took an additional 10 minutes before they even got the drinks they had ordered before we got there and another 10 for food. Best sushi in Pullman but honestly the bar isn't very high so that's not saying much. Main waitress there is so sweet but she seems to be by herself all of the time, handling the entire busy restaurant by herself? Which makes the wait time insane. Plus there's usually only one sushi chef so if your table gets cooked food and sushi the cooked food will come out 10 minutes faster. If they had a better staffed restaurant and honestly a better bar menu this place would take off. read more

I am honestly surprised this place is still in business. The service was absolutely HORRIBLE. We waited at the door for almost 10 minutes and were entirely ignored untill one of us waved down one of the servers. He seemed almost offended that we had "bothered" him but sat us anyway. It took another 15 minutes for a completely different server to come take our order. The food was decent, but we were missing 2 drinks, and 3 orders of rice. Again, we were helped by yet another waiter who also acted like we were bothering him. We were ignored for the rest of our stay. The food is overpriced and the staff obviously don't care much about customer service. Also, a few days ago a friend of mine went into apply for a job there, since there was (and still is) a huge billboard outside with "now hiring servers" on it. The response she got from the manager was a look of disgust and "NO! not hiring now." and when she pointed out the sign the manager rolled her eyes and walked away. My friend worked at a sushi bar in seattle for 2 and a half years... with management like that its no surprise the service is horrible. read more

This place is pretty good for the location! I always get the dragon roll that has eel on top. The ingredients are good & the food is fresh. I had one unpleasant experience though. I was in a large group (6-8 people), and I got my food at least 15 minutes after everyone else did. And the waitress did not do anything else to attempt to make it a better wait for me. I'm not asking for a discount but at least offer something while everyone is chowing down, and I'm hungry. Also, it was during the middle of a weekday so it was not busy at all. But that story is a one-time fluke. If you have the extra money and you want to treat yourself or someone else to a quality japanese meal I would suggest coming to Toyko Seoul. read more

The night I went, I was with a group of 7 other people. We were seated right away which was great and given waters but then it took forever for our server to appear even to get our drink order, let alone our meal order. I felt bad, I think the server was on the only one working the floor and they also seemed like they only had one sushi chef that night because our server advised us to get in all of our orders in at the same time as everything was backing up. I know we had a large group and I also realize that sushi and bento box meals aren't fast food but the experience just dragged on. I know I'm eating at a Korean/Japanese food in Pullman, so I should be nicer about my review, but hey, this is my honest opinion and you want nothing but the truth right? I came with 2 Korean girls, and we got sushi and korean food. The Yukejang (korean stew) which my native korean friend ordered, was not spicy enough, too salty, and had too much onions. (She claims that she can make it much better than the chef.) The sushi wasn't fresh, and I think if you can't tell the difference between spicy tuna and spicy salmon, there is a huge problem (plus, it was barely spicy to be considered a spicy roll). If you have low expectations and don't care about the quality of sushi, then the place isn't bad. BIGGEST dealbreaker is the price. This must be the MOST EXPENSIVE sushi/korean restaurant considering it's quality of food. I don't mind paying a lot for good quality food, but place just didn't cut it. Service wasn't excellent. It was quite slow and the lady wasn't very attentive. The waitresses were running around the restaurant the whole time, but nothing was actually being done. It seemed very disorganized. However, if you speak Korean, they will likely treat you a little nicer. read more

I tend to find myself here every time I come to Pullman. They open late which is a plus in a college town. The food arrives and it looks so good I forget to take a picture. The food is always hot whether you get the udon or the awesome Korean Bim bop ( clay pot of rice beef and veggies). My family has ordered the sushi rolls (spider roll is a go to) and it's always fresh. They know what they're doing. If you get tired of the pizzas in town, try this when visiting your college kid. read more

The service does not justify the food. To be honest, Tokyo Seoul is one of my favorite dining spots in Pullman. The atmosphere is calming, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. They only have one issue: their service is consistently awful! I'll begin with the food. Thus far I have limited my meals to sushi (their speciality), and the traditional bento boxes. Something every Tokyo Seoul employee has told me about the restaurant is how great their sushi chef is. While I am confident you could find better in New York or San Fransisco, for a town of 30,000 residents (25,000 of which are students), I was blown away by how delightful it was. I recommend the dragon if only for its charming presentation literally looking like its namesake. Overall their food has never disappointed me! Unfortunately I cannot give a good recommendation for Tokyo Seoul because of its service. The last two times I have gone, drinks were forgotten, meals delayed, our table neglected, and servers returned minutes later asking to reiterate what we ordered. If somebody is coming to Pullman and I want to show them the hidden gems in this city, I could not in good conscience take them somewhere that makes you say "the food is good, I promise". So, if you have patience and understand you will have to babysit the waiters a tad, I recommend Tokyo Seoul for the delightful food and variety it offers to the Palouse. If you are trying to impress a date or relatives from out of town, there are better options for you. read more

Great place, the Korean BBQ is excellent. The side dishes and amount in the order was exceptional. The best Bulgogi in the NW in my opinion. We went back on consecutive nights because we liked it so well. Some in our group had the Japanese dishes and sushi all were excellent. It was a little spendy but worth it. This place has gone downhill now. I have been going to Tokyo Seoul restaurant in Pullman, Washington for almost two years now but I could feel it slowly going downhill. I agree with the other reviews- great sushi for the area, but poor service. I asked three different people to be seated. Each one said they would get a table set for me but then never returned. Finally the third person realized I was still waiting for a table and cleared one for me. The sushi was great! I had the marine roll and the playboy roll. I've eaten here a few times, normally the food is pretty good, I like the sake fusion roll. Tonight I ordered the Tokyo roll and it was less than desirable. I didn't realize the roll had egg in it, and even after picking the egg out the piece I ate was slimy and not great. Our waitress seemed frazzled, let my roll sit on the bar for about 10 minutes before bringing it over to the table. We love their Korean BBQ and sushi! The kids love their chicken katsu, the tempura is yummy, really can't think of anything we don't like. The service is hit and miss, if you get a college kid serving you expect terrible service (but that's true everywhere in town). Tokyo Seoul is one of my favorite restaurants in Pullman, this place has a nice atmosphere to have a meal at, I like the set up of the tables and the quiet lights in that restaurant, which gives you a good mood to eat. The food is amazing especially the Las Vegas roll which is my favorite dish, and do not forget about the Matso soup, that will rock your world. The dishes prices is fair enough for the quality of food they serve, I always go there with one of my friends and we spend about 20 $ for both, that included 2 soups,2 dishes,and 2 drinks. Moreover, the waitresses are nice overall but sometimes they forget to bring you what you asked for like a fork or a plate. The best part when you go there is when you sit by the bar and watch the chef makes sushi, he is professional!!!I like the location of Tokyo Seoul because it is close to campus and downtown. I have been there a lot, but one time i had to wait for the food more than 20 minutes and I complained about it, and they gave me discount. Finally, I have been to Red Bento too, which a sushi restaurant that competes with Tokyo Seoul, but I think Tokyo Seoul serves better food. read more

It's quite busy most of the time, but its because the food is good. Been here many times and always enjoy it. Great for coming here with a group. It is a little more expensive than other Asian restaurants in town, but it won't be a waste of money. Definitely recommend the Korean dishes over the Japanese ones in terms of quality. read more
