We've been to Tokyo Seoul's three times now for Sushi, two times we dined in and once to go. The service, while friendly, is pretty terrible, especially when it is busy, but the food has always been really good. I would say it is definitely comparable in quality and taste to what I got in California. I would suggest avoiding busy times, unless you are willing to wait, or order your food to go. I usually love going to this place because the food is great. Recently, however, I have had some bad customer service that makes me question whether or not I want to return. I went in with a couple of my friends and our waitress was an older Chinese lady named Daisy. She seemed nice at first but as soon as we started speaking Chinese she started talking to us in a rude manner. She asked if we were ready and we said not yet. She then in a sassy and sarcastic tone asked," How much time do you need exactly?" The next time I went in I wanted to order the Kimchi Chigae soup that was posted on the special menu board. When I asked for it she said in the same rude tone to tell me that it is not available and I need to come back on during the weekend if I want to eat it. However the next time I went in and had a different server she told me it is offered all day every day. It is not just me who has had to deal with her being rude. My other friends who are also Chinese have complained about dealing with the same problems. It is sad that she discriminates against her own kind. If I ever do come back I will imediatly ask for a different server. read more

Since I wrote my original review, Tokyo Seoul has obtained a liquor license. That is a good thing. Although I have only been back a handful of times since my original review, the food remains very tasty and fresh -- generally well-prepared. I have _not_ experienced the poor service that seems to be a frequent comment, but then again when I do go to Tokyo Seoul it is usually in the 1pm to 4pm range -- not a peak time. And no waitstaff or manager has ever been rude to me. However, any perception or reality of less-than-great service, especially during busy times, is something that should be improved upon. read more

I have to agree the service is a disaster, however no one was rude just inept. Several servers working a table, never seeming to know what was going on, who ordered what from whom, etc. We had bugogi which was fine but in my estimation overpriced for the amount of food for two. My boyfriend and I came here to eat just last night, and it was a pretty great experience. Although the prices may be high, you are paying for the quality of the food, and I think that's most important in any sushi restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the tamago and spicy salmon roll while I ordered the sake son and the bulgogi plate. All of it was really delicious! I would say the only thing they need to work on is customer service and getting tables ready before having people seated. We didn't have our napkins or chopsticks when we got there. I mainly came here to check out the Korean menu, it's pretty basic and small, but the dolsot bibimbap was solid - it tasted just as expected, I always like mine with a little heat so I tried it with their red pepper sauce which is usually on the sweet side but this one was waaay to sweet for me, I ended up asking for some straight up red pepper paste. Split the fresh veg roll and it was really good. As I'm not much for sushi, seeing a veggie roll on the menu always makes me happy. My friends got the pork bulgogi and teriyaki chicken. They tasted pretty good, I'll have to give the beef bulgogi a try next time I come in. As for price, I think for the amount of food it's fair. Not many other people so our food came out in a timely manner, but all of the filled tables were pretty spread out so the one waitress was zipping back and forth quite a bit. The food is still good, but the hours are so unpredictable and unreliable (at the Moscow location). I got so fed up trying to catch them when they were open that I went back to Red Bento and was pleasantly surprised. The Tokyo Seoul in Pullman is great, but the Moscow one needs to keep itself staffed consistently - I shouldn't have to call all the time to find out if they're open or not. read more

Many people have said the service was a problem, but the night I was there was full and still had great service. We had speedy amd friendly service. I had the beef yakisoba and it was delishious. The bentos are also good and so is the sushi. I would definetlu reccomend it. Plus, I is probably one of the most beautiful restaraunts I've ever been to because of it's interior decoration. I would give this place a 5 star rating because the food was bomb! Unfortunately the service isn't the same. I feel like they're understaffed and because of that, the waitresses aren't so attentive. So once again I find myself in Pullman & get pushed into going to Tokyo Seoul. I am more than apprehensive, but am told that they have some great waiters and waitresses. We go in and are immediately served water and the waiter checks on us twice prior to ordering. The food was spot on, but one dish came before the other. Probably the best Asian restaurant in Pullman, and they charge for it too. I enjoy their Korean food a lot. Their bibimbap, bulgogi, and japchae are very good and very authentic. I'm not a big sushi fan but I did enjoy their vegetable tempura roll, it was fresh and flavorful. I just wish the prices were a little more affordable for the college crowd. read more

Seem like the only Korean restaurant in Pullman. My experience at Tokyo Seoul wasn't too bad. The service was good maybe because it was a slow day for them. The waitress was very polite and helpful. I ordered sushi which was alright quality not as fresh as what you would get in the city but decent. The spicy salmon was good and had the right amont of spicy to it. The korean side dish was a bit dissapointing as it was too bland and the kimchi was not spicy at all. My gyudon was good the beef was very good and tender and my bf seem to enjoy his bibimbap too. Overall, not bad...I like that it has other korean and japanese food other than the usual sushi or teriyaki stuff. read more

Went there earlier tonight with my family, everyone got there food before I did which I didn't mind because I'm a waitress myself I understand some foods take longer to make. I saw the waitress check my plate and tell the chef it was wrong but she brought it out anyway, I ate because I don't like to complain. I went to pay and she demanded for me to give her a tip when we had already left it on the table. Not worth going to bad service and the food isn't that great either. Friendly tip to the owners, tell your waitresses to not expect tips from anyone. No one has to tip them. read more

I have been here at least 30 times in the past couple years. After moving from the West Side, I was desperate to find good Sushi. It is fresh (in my opinion) and just amazing! The service is always quick and friendly. The only complaint I have is that they bring out the orders at separate times so more often than not, I am half way through my roll when my friends get their teriyaki. I don't know why I haven't gone to this place more over the past school year. Now I know I will! The smell of korean bbq sizzling at the table near me was what told me I needed to come back. My friend had curry and that was just ok. My other friend had a sushi roll and bento box which was so good. I ordered the deep fried ice cream for about $5.95. Surprisingly it was huuuuge. I believe the outside is tempura and the inside is vanilla cream drizzled with chocolate syrup. They cut it into 4 pieces which makes it perfect to share. The service was quick and quality. The inside of the restaurant seems a litttle outdated but it is still a good place for a quick lunch or big enough to have a large birthday dinner. Price wise is like a typical sushi/kbbq place. What gets the college students are probably the portion size. They have sushi, korean bbq, and more. The menu isnt too overwhelming. When we walked out and to the car the guys making sushi also said "bye" to us on the way out. I truly appreciated that because it showed that they really cared about their customers. read more

The bottom line: Disappointing service, being stingy with sauces and rice completely overshadow any good things about this place. The good: The food here tastes good (plus one star). They have a good selection of Japanese dishes, sushi, Korean barbecue/dishes (plus one star). Other than that, it's all bad... - SLOW: The sushi chef sat us at our table and gave us menus, and our waitress brought us water. We sat for about 20 minutes without being looked at even though there were only two other tables with people at them. - More slow: Our appetizer (edamame) was brought out RIGHT before our food was brought out, leaving us no time to snack on them. And when our food was brought out, our waitress could only manage to carry out one plate at a time... so my boyfriend awkwardly sat there staring at his food while we waited another 5 minutes for the waitress to bring out my food. (and our waitress did have two hands, so I'm pretty sure she was capable of carrying two plates at once.) - STINGY: oh my goodness. My bento box came with a little ball of rice, which is to be expected. What I did not expect was to be charged an extra $1.50 for more rice. I've been eating at Asian restaurants all my life in many different parts of the US, and I can assure you it is not common practice to charge customers per bowl of rice. Rice is kind of like the fountain soda of Asia... you order it, and you get refills. The table behind us seemed to encounter the same issue. They were a table of 5, ordering Korean BBQ: they ordered 3 plates of meat to cook on their grills and were only given 3 bowls of rice because they only ordered 3 plates of meat... so they had to order 2 more bowls of rice so that everyone at their table could have some rice... HOW DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? In what world would one person order a whole plate of Korean BBQ meat for themselves? I can only recall ONE other restaurant in my ~25 years of eating where I was charged for each serving of rice and it was a ritzy-titzy restaurant in Beverly Hills. This is Pullman, people. and rice is CHEAP stop being stingy. It's really off-putting. Weird: the tables only had one little sauce plate on it. I use a lot more wasabi with my sushi than my boyfriend does, so he had to sneak off and grab a plate for his soy sauce from another table... we would have asked but we were being ignored. Also weird: we walked up to the register to pay, our waitress swiped our credit card, gave us our receipt to sign and walked away... we wanted a copy of our receipt... so we stood there awkwardly waiting for her to come back to ask for it. She put no effort into customer service... She did the absolute minimum required to get us out the door, and moved on to her next task... it really doesn't make the customer feel very welcome when you simply walk away from them without acknowledging them. I doubt we will be returning here, which is a pity considering the already small selection of Asian restaurants there are to chose from in Pullman. read more

We have come here as a family many times, and it has been great watching my kids love the Japanese and Korean cuisine. We usually enjoy the food and service, but it has taken a huge down turn over the last few months. First the service went downhill, the wait staff seem really inexperienced or overworked, I am unable to tell which, but it causes the customers to suffer. It took over five minutes to get water after being seated, and the waitress continually forgot to provide items to the table. We did not receive our drinks, utensils, or food until we asked. The waitress completely forgot the sides that come with the beef bulgogi, and waited until we asked to tell us they were out is miso soup even though everyone else in the restaurant had some. Now the most disappointing part was the sushi. We had considered this the best sushi in Pullman/Moscow, but the quality control was lacking. Not only did the dish taste a little off, but it was missing the signature sauce that comes on the Samurai Roll. It looks like we will be sticking with Red Bento. Red Bento Hasn't been as good as Tokyo Seoul is capable of, but at least they are consistently decent. read more

Atmosphere great, music not too loud, food great selection including geoduck, and service typical of Asian restaurant (Japanese a bit more friendly than Chinese). Came here twice while visiting Pullman. First time I ordered the tonkatsu bento and a side of potato salad. My friend wanted just grilled beef , completely plain, just cooked on the grill for health purposes, with rice and vegetables. The two asian women whom I'll assume are the owners seemed really confused by this request and it took a bit of explaining what was being requested, but eventually it was done...both meals were very good. Returned three weeks later on my second visit to Pullman. I ordered the chicken katsu bento with a side of potato salad, my friend (different from the first visit) ordered the tonkatsu bento per my recommendation. She also ordered a side of potato salad. The food was so delicious, BUT! we both got sick after, which continued the full following day , which we both believe was the potato salad. After that we had no desire to return even though while we were eating the food we were like, "oh man we have to eat here again before we leave", we didn't. Still no desire to revisit when I go back to Pullman. The food was good though, unfortunately, it was ruined for me. First visit was on 03/05/18, second was on 03/28/18. read more

The food was pretty good here, but a bit pricey if you ask me. Service was a bit slow even though we came during a non peak hour. Also, parking can be a bit annoying getting in and out as some of the spaces are quite narrow with not much room to back out into. Overall, I would recommend just driving to Moscow and getting Red Bento. It's cheaper and I'm not sure, but it might be owned by the same folks so you're getting the same quality food for less. read more

So as other reviews mentioned, the service here was pretty slow, but the sushi was totally delicious as well as the appetizers we had. I will definitely be going back for their super yummy rainbow roll! This is by far the best sushi available in Pullman. read more
