Don't let the outside of this place fool you. This restaurant is in a house that looks run down on the outside, but it is super cool and clean on the inside. Stopped in on a Saturday night for a late dinner before a comedy show. This restaurant is in a converted house and has a nice atmosphere. I found street parking right out front. The sushi is 5 stars: excellent quality. And extremely reasonably priced. The service was 3 stars. Not particularly friendly (didn't check on me once after I ordered, didn't offer water, etc) Another server noticed I hadn't been checked on and took over/was much more attentive but also had other tables. If I could rate this a 4.5 I would. It was very good. I may have finally found my go-to sushi place in town. I tried some nearer to our house but for a variety of reasons they just did not do it for me. After checking reviews we decided to try this place on a weeknight. We got there relatively early and we were glad we did because all of the booths quickly filled up by 6pm. The decor was light and modern. Our order was taken quickly and the food came out fast. I got a beer and three cooked sushi rolls. The spicy California roll was good but not really spicy, a smoked salmon roll was also good but the cream cheese was almost too much, and the tempura shrimp roll was excellent. My wife got the vegetable bento box and really liked it a lot. One of the big plusses was that the prices were very reasonable - a rarity these days. We will return. read more

I had lunch from here on a weekday. The place was not busy. I went for the lunch special with 3 sushi rolls. It came with miso soup. Spicy salmon was my favorite sushi followed by shrimp tempura. This is a solid 3.5 star restaurant located in what used to be a home. I ordered the sushi deluxe, Toro sushi, some hot sake and green tea cream. The ice cream was really good but probably, a pre packaged kind and not fresh made. The reason for the 3 stars is the quality of fish. Although, prices are reasonable, it does reflect in the quality. Nothing was bad or it didn't smell fishy, it just wasn't high quality of salmon, tuna, yellowtail or snapper. The toro too missed the mark and it wasn't your melt in the mouth goodness. I realize good help is very hard to find, but it looked like only one waitress for the entire restaurant. Almost an hour from being seated until the food arrived. Despite that the decor is cute, intimate, and good lighting. The food pricing is very fair, below market I feel. The sushi itself was very fresh and incredible! Lots of options to pick from on the menu as well. Parking available on the street, can be a bit difficult and you may need to park a block away but nothing too crazy. I ordered the tuna, salmon, and a specialty sushi roll along with beef yaki soba. The tuna and salmon rolls were filled with fish and they tasted fresh. The specialty roll had a lot of unique flavor and was also tasted good. The rolls came out within 10 minutes of ordering which was really nice. The beef yaki soba was very flavorful and the steak that was used was very delicious. The yaki soba noodles were a bit thinner than expected and pretty oily, but they tasted good nonetheless. First of all, I started to take pictures of the menu to help the people of the Internet out because Tokyo Sushi doesn't have a website or any way to view the menu. I soon began to regret my decision as flipping the pages started to seem endless. My biggest pet peeve in restaurants is a giant menu. There is no way a restaurant can commit to a giant menu and do it well. So, when it came time to order, the server was incredibly confused and had to reference the menu when I said my order. My order came with soup or salad, which by the way, the menu says "soup AND salad" but it was scribbled out with a black pen. The menu is black. Anyway, the server neglected to ask if I wanted soup or salad. Then I had to ask for it to be brought to me. Another iffy encounter: my SO ordered sake. The server took the order and left. Minutes later, comes back and asks to see his ID. And then looks very confused afterwards. But he brought the sake eventually. The decor is also questionable. They have pendant lamps placed so low that you can't see the person across from you. OKAY, anyway, if you don't read any of that, read this. I ordered a sushi bar entree - I've already forgotten what it is called. It was 8 pieces of sushi and a Godzilla roll. As soon as I picked up the sushi (not the Godzilla roll), it completely fell apart! The rice just crumbled. All I was holding with my chopsticks was the fish. I tried to use my hand, but that was also unsuccessful. Yeah, so I think if you're going to pay these prices for sushi, you're better off at Muramoto or RED. I tried his grilled teriyaki salmon and it was incredible, it was soft and tender but had a perfect crunch to it from the grill. Sushi was great, the rice was a good consistency and the veggies in the veggie roll were crunchy and yummy. The service was great too! Very attentive and refilled our waters a few times, took our plates pretty quickly, and checked to make sure everything was good. Very friendly staff. Plus they had this cute outdoor seating that I will try next time I go. Some things to note- they said they are still working on getting their liquor license, so we couldn't order alcohol. Also, sounded like due to Covid they've been having trouble getting some of their food shipments in, (we got veggie dumplings and they were different than they're old kind) but the staff were super friendly, helpful, and upfront about everything. If you didn't know this existed you would just walk by it and miss something great. The place is very chill decorated in lights that are perfect for the mood. The entire house is reminiscent of a British restaurant, a little hidden but big compared to the British counterpart. The food were great and so was the service. My friend ordered a fried rice dish and accidentally found one piece of pork that was not cook properly. The server immediately solve the issue by going back to the kitchen for the kitchen to redo the entire dish and even gave us a refund for the dish. The sushi selections were great. My friends who couldn't eat raw fish were able to enjoy all the rolls that we had. I had some raw fish and they tasted amazing like everything else. Extremely cute resturant! We went here for dinner and the place is basically a house transformed into a resturant which is really cool. All the servers were very friendly. The downstairs area was very crowded so we were seated upstairs. Very nice decor and everything was extremely clean. The sushi was very good and you could tell the fish was high quality and fresh. Only recommendation I would make is maybe turning up the volume of the music upstairs. There were three other couples upstairs with us and it was so quiet that we could hear every word of each conversation. Perhaps a little louder music upstairs may help! read more
