A branch store from their San Francisco main store, selling lots of hard to find dried goodies / home staples like dried mushroom, dried scallops, wild ginseng, monk fruit, and herbs. Very nicely packed. Love the fact it is the real stuff and not the average stuff from local supermarket. A lot of the organic snacks and tea items. Was eyeing on some tea and jam but figured out will do it next round. Also have a freezer section with dumplings, bread, seafood and ice-cream. Got miso and kimchi too (can't live without those). Also some hard to find Japanese ice/cream items to help at this hot weekend. We will return.l

I regularly stop in to pick up treats, drinks, produce like mushrooms and okra, and their poke and hot meal options. I also like their home goods sections with so many cool ramen bowls, sauce containers, and utensils. I'm always excited when I stop in when it's slower because I can take my time browsing. Whenever this happens I end up leaving with a lot more items. I appreciate that they carry a wide variety of items including some ingredients and items that are hard to find in the US and even at other Asian grocery stores. I've stopped into many different stores and I feel like Oto's has variety and quality at a great price. They do have their own parking, but be careful because it can be pretty tight and there's usually a good amount of cars coming in and out.

They offer fresh vegetables and lots of imported goods with great prices. I wondered around the entire store looking at everything. I was offered assistance while there. I told them I was being curious. They told me to ask if I had questions. Friendly staff even though they were busy working. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood! Actually gifted the same Mango and Ube ice cream to a friend for her family over the Christmas holiday. She said the Ube was a big hit with the kids. However, I went with her anyways and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious things I found that are now my regular treats as well as how friendly the staff and other customers are here that it's really not a big deal that we stick out a lot, haha.. Specifically, I found this snack called Khatta Meetha, a very popular "Indian snack mix (namkeen) known for its balance of sweet ("meetha") and tangy or sour ("khatta") flavors" according to Google. So it's like a snack mix made of chickpea flour noodles (sev), fried rice flakes (poha), green peas, and roasted peanuts. The seasoning is what makes it so good, yes, it's definitely the combo of sweet and tangy that makes it so tasty. Anyways, they've got a ton of fresh produce, ethnic ingredients and frozen foods as well as plenty of pantry foods like large bags of basmati rice, giant cans/jars of ghee, etc. I don't really cook so I won't know what to do with any of these food items, but everything looks fresh and reasonably priced. All in all, a great place to get South Asian authentic ethnic ingredients and prepared foods, and the bakery sure looks like a great place for anyone with a sweet tooth. In any case, it's a grocery store in the Florin area of Sacramento, and shares the same parking lot as Costco South Sac, so it's easy to come by after regular grocery shopping. Taj is a really good-sized Indian grocery store that focuses on providing what you won't find in regular stores. It's pretty well known for its extensive selection of spices, ethnic snacks, fresh produce and specialty items from India, Pakistan, Fiji, and other South Asian countries. I like to come every once in awhile to refill my spice jars bc they sell spices by the bag so it's more economical and they offer so many different spices! Some popular features that I notice their regular customers really like include an in-store bakery, their sweets section, and food trucks serving authentic street food right outside the entrance. The service is efficient and they always have complimentary chai tea which is nice when it's cold out, and even in warmer weather, it's a nice gesture even if it's too hot for steaming hot tea. The staff are usually busy helping or checking out customers or stocking or organizing shelves, but they are available to help find items and for questions if you just ask. Overall, it's a great and large supermarket that I find convenient for finding specialty ingredients like curries, ginger powder, garam masala, etc for cooking Indian cuisine or to add some Indian flavors to my home cooked dishes. You will notice that I took pictures of unique veggies that are usually not sold at a typical supermarket, and also of my favorite Indian snacks and sweets.

We dumped them out and brought them in. 2 is better than none. As it turned out 99% of our items fit in those two bags. $56 gets you a lot of food, but not too much that we couldn't cart it out. The times that didn't fit was the aloe juice, rice crackers and box of lychee. I was so excited that I forget to take a picture of the box of lychee I picked up. It was I believe $7 for 1.8lbs. Expensive still even with the $1 discount off as it was regular $8. They had another variety for $2 something a pound, you but you had to buy a to more. I love fresh lychee but rarely buy it because it's usually out of season and so expensive. I want to report back that the lychee is very good. Sweet and the pits aren't too big. I'm glad I got the box. I wish it came in a recyclable paper box so I wouldn't feel as guilty about throwing it out. It came in a cute plastic basket with a lid and a handle. I'll have to find a use for it afterwards. Our main reason for coming in today was in search for salmon and a vegetable to cook for tomorrow's dinner. Mexico s playing to Moro a for the world cup and we're hosting a watch party. They had 3 cuts of salmon. We got two of the three. Steak and a thin filet. It's going to be so delicious. My husband marinates it for hours and it's so good. We got some Choy to along with it. And egg custards for dessert. We. Each got our own so we don't' have to share. The mini egg custard tars were $2.99 each or 2 for $4.99. We only bought 3, one for each of us. They have so many choy options. He wanted one more leafy when steamy. So we got a bag of the leafy kind. They were a good deal. There produce for the most part is reasonable. With the exception of their boxed fruit, that's expensive. Or it's just too much as they all will ripen at the same time and who can eat 24 mangos? One thing we are out of at home was cheddar cheese. We didn't even look to find out if they had it. The deli was closed when we arrived around 6pm. Sadly no bao for us. I was really hoping for some to take home and east as snacks for later. I looked at the ones in the freezer section ,but you need a steamer for those and I believe they are uncooked so I passed. I just wanted some so I could nuke them. We looked at the ones in the fridge section of the deli but, my husband vetoed them. We'll have to find somewhere else to get them. They had two kinds of Aloe juice with crunchy pulp. Regular and pineapple. The pineapple sounded so good, but. I'm cutting gout drinking stuff other than water in the hopes of getting. healthier and losing weight. No more empty calories. I really do like the crunchy pulp. It reminded me of boba and so much cheaper than a boba drink. Clearance section. I didn't see any outstanding deals. I was so disappointed as my parents always find the amazing deals on those shelves. We totally scored on parking. We got the first spot. We had to drive down to the next isle, but abt was ok, it was closer to the front door. There really is plenty of parking as they have a whole shopping center they share parking with. Carts. Before I found it, I was picking small bones from my mouth that matched the vertebrae I saw poking out of the tail. Needless to say I will never be going back. Maybe the place will still be good for prepackaged groceries or produce... for other people. I'm scarred, probably won't be eating from ANY restaurant any time soon.

This supermarket is known to sell rotten or expired food especially the soy bean drink…read more Bought 1 before and it was rotten, we thought maybe just bad luck but when we came back the other day and bought another one it was rotten as well when we brought it home. We bought it on 6/16/26 and the expiration says 07/05/2026 so we would think it's still very good but no it's rotten. They might of just pretend to place a new tag to show it's not expired yet. Wasted our money for nothing. Not very good for business. They need to change this up or else they will lose lots of customers.
