We've been going to Toledos for a few years now, and have never had a problem. Great meat cuts, salsas, and basic staples. Reasonable pricing, and ample selection given the size of the shop. I will say, I've never tried their hot food to go, so my rating is only for the grocery portion of the shop. read more

Tiny Mexican mart that's super convenient for EG people on the Laguna side who don't want to drive to South Sac for a big box store equivalent. I needed a few things to make al pastor tacos at home and I had no problem finding them here. In addition to aisles of shelf-stable Mexican staples (condiments, chili peppers, candies, etc.), there are sections for raw meat, fresh produce, and baked sweet bread (pan dulce). These sections looked alright, though the fresh produce section in particular could use some work as some items there were completely wilted. Easy lot parking. Very close to the Laguna Target, so if you can't find some specific Mexican ingredients there you could make a quick stop here. read more

On my visit to Sacramento, I wanted to visit a Mexican market because back home in Hawaii we don't have too much of the snacks, besides a place in town that I never have a chance to go to. Seeing that this was close to my family's home, I decided to check it out. I bought a whole bunch of candies & some mazapan to bring back home. Plus I wanted some conchas because it's rare to see them back home in Hawaii. They have many variety of snacks, candys and ingredients you would need for cooking. I believe they sell cooked food too. Smells very good inside although I haven't tried or made my way to go see. I did get a concha, and I enjoyed it very much. Customer service is good. The line went by quick. It isn't a big store, I had a stroller and it was a tight to move around in there. Overall experience was great I got what I wanted and left with more than what I hoped to buy. read more

It's unfortunate how rude this store can be. We are trying to support a small business and yet they decide to act absolutely rude and disrespectful. We bought a product that was inedible we politely ask if we can return it for some store credit or money but understood if it wasn't possible since it's food after all and the staff raised his voice and rudely remark that they buy it that way and should "just swallow and eat them." Toledos is hands down, my go-to spot for Mexican food/groceries. I just noticed they're serving fresh food on the weekends, so of course I had to get the super burrito. It was HUGE! It's probably the only Hispanic shop in elk grove area. Pretty small but decent. Wish they had a little more variety of meat. P.s for the kings cake my mom bought one there and the cake did not have any babies in it. She called the store to let the owner know all they said they would look into it. This store has a habit of not only price gauging but also over charging the customers, I bought chicken NOT Ranchera steak, I was over charged by $58 dollars! I caught this once I arrived home and when I called they declined to refund me unless I came back to the store with ALL the items purchased, huge inconvenience. She refunded me after all however the butcher should have known what price he printed and the cashier should have caught this discrepancy at the register, there was clearly chicken in the bag with a ranchera price tag! We live 6 min away from this market, and my husband went and asked for 3lb of pork chops, and they gave him 5lb of smoked pork chops Instead, he didn't notice until he got home. He went back right away, and they told him they didn't have regular pork chops that they couldn't accept them or change it to any other meat. Small store that makes the most of their space. Well stocked with groceries aimed at cooking mexican recipes. Fresh food items also such as dairy, salsa veggies, butcher counter and a deli. I haven't tried the deli but several other customers were ordering so I'm assuming it's good. They also had prepared masa for tamales already bagged, ready to purchase. I went to purchase some steak and during the process a butcher came to help (not my usual butcher) and I noticed that his hands were stained in blood and had not washed his hands to attend customers. I kindly asked him to wash his hands before preparing the meat. He refused and kicked me put of the store. 9/8/18... If you are anything outside of Mexican "Do not do Business here." I went to this place looking for my grandsons birthday piñata. Mind you my grandson is half Mexican and African American and I want him to maintain his roots! I am African American and European. He picked one of his two favorite piñatas while we waited in a long line. We got to the front and I asked how much for the piñatas and if I could buy the Avengers one. She said yes and went to pull it from the ceiling. Some customer in the store went over and spoke In Spanish to the salesgirl. Then the the salesgirl said she could not sale the piñata because the Lady told her she put it on hold yesterday. I said ok well how about the Batman piñata? She said no I can't sale you that either because she put that one on hold yesterday too! I said yesterday! How does that work! And you allow random parties in the store control whom you sale to! TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, SERVICE. The butcher is friendly and gets you what you need, however the cashier at the front with the black curly hair and glasses is SUPER RUDE. I've greeted her and have been nice and all she does is give you this terrible tone back, such a bitch. My mom who is older asked her a question about the bread and she answered my mom as if she was stupid. She's also always on her phone and eating while touching money how nasty. Be careful when you get your money back and wash your hands. With all these COVID-19 stuff going around you'd expect them to be more careful and clean, nope. Also watch out for price changing. I've kept my receipts because I've noticed sometimes I get charged more for some things and with the receipts I'll be able to tell, but I do not trust them! read more

I went an hour before closing I asked for my meat cut a specific way he stated he had already cleaned everything up and couldn't do it. The lady at the register is not the friendliest and always in a rush to get you out.
