Check the expiration date before purchasing, which I failed to do. Came home and took off the lid. Noticed a bunch of freezer burn on top. But it was hot outside and I needed something cold. I scraped the top layer off and took a bite of the ice cream underneath. Tasted off. I looked at the expiration date and it is 3 months past due. I chucked it in the garbage because I already knew how hard it was going to be to try to return this. The $4 wasn't worth my time and argument with the staff.

Gray and rubbery chicken. Not even chewable.

Got their sweet and sour chicken and it had the texture of jerky. Hard and must've been made the previous day and refried. Absolutely disgusting.

Amy's almond cookies tastes like outdated a year.

Bought these Amy's almond cookies over the thanksgiving weekend. Low and behold they tasted outdated by a year. I looked all over the packaging and could not locate a sell date.

They deep fry your fish for you!

I see low ratings but I loved this store compared to anything we can get in Hawaii as well as the prices! The produce section is huge! You can get big bunches of perilla leaves as well as all the other herbs we bought. Fish balls, shrimp and meat balls everything we wanted for pho and shabu nights! I want to say the live dungeness crab was $8.99/pound? We pay $16.99 in Hawaii.

I wish I could give this store more stars because it really is a good place to buy Sea food, poultry, Beef, Pork and fruits cut theres a few things that I dislike tho. I like that they always have mangos for a real reasonable price when mangos are in season. I like that they have all kinds of fruits and vegetables some that you cant get all your local american grocery store. I dislike the fact that when you walk in here the lights are super bright to the point that it hurts my eyes, i dislike that no one understands english and its hard to find what you are looking for if you dont know the stores lay out. One thing that I discovered when coming here this past Friday is that, THEY SELL EXPIRED STUFF AND TRY TO HIDE IT! I was looking to buy the liquid seasoning and most of them were expired. Theres one thing if maybe they forgot to pull the expired merchandise off the shelfs and its another thing that they try to cover it up and bamboozle us into buying expired merchandise. The erased the expiration year on the liquid seasoning but you could still see that it says 2019 thats some shady stuff! CHECK THE DATES, check out the pic that I posted if you don't believe me.

The store has a terrible smell and it gets worse as you approach the meat department. Wanted to ask a question at the meat counter and the service is terrible. It's like you are bothering them. Kids had to use the restroom while we were there...the most disgusting thing I've ever seen and smelled. I wouldn't eat anything that came from here.

I was not too fond of the place here. It was smelly and also sold expired goods. So be aware to check the expiration date.

like a previous yelper said, you'll find some things here and not at the other store on 65th, and vice versa, but the prices are definiltey better here.

They had lots of produce and preserved veggies in jars! They also had a sample area where you could try various apples, pickled veggies, fudge and apple cider! We decided to have sweets before lunch and ordered their strawberry ice cream sandwich and strawberry pie! The strawberry ice cream and donut combo was delicious!! We would order it again in a heartbeat! The strawberry pie tasted like it was just strawberry jam as the filling and we didn't really like it much. Their burgers were so delicious and the sauce they offered were so good!! They had a chipotle and BBQ sauce that was so good that we regretted not asking if they sold it there to bring home with us! Can't wait to be back in the fall for more!!

First time visiting here was for the Watermelon days event. Indeed felt like a scam. I was…read moredisappointed that they barely had any watermelons for sale, and I was told they were imported for Mexico since it's not in season in California. The selection for watermelon flavored things were small too. I only ordered the watermelon ice cream, which tasted good. It was an artificial creamy watermelon flavor. The lady who took my order wasn't very nice though.. It was nice getting to try the free samples of apples, and other things. The watermelon sample wasn't sweet at all, so I ended up not buying a watermelon from here. There were a few vendors that had some cool things but I didn't end up buying anything. Totally not worth driving an hour for this event. Maybe I would come check out these fruit themed events if I lived closer. I ended up buying a watermelon at Costco instead..

Those are all very valid reasons to love this place alone, but for me this place has a few sentimental reasons that I enjoy them and value them so much. One I remember when my children were quite young and they would stay at their grandmothers in the Bay Area for days at a time and when we did the kid exchange it was always done at the Pedricks parking lot and then the kids and I would walk into the market and they would each pick out a treat-I cherish those memories. The other thing I think about Pedrick is way back when, during the time when the Covid-Era lockdown was coming to an end,I remember the 1st day they told us we could begin going outside again, the very 1st place the wifey and I drove to was Pedricks. We jumped in the car in Natomas and beelined straight for some fresh fruit and veggies and whatever other treats we could find that day at Pedricks. It was such a joy to see them open and fully stocked that day,I might as well have been going to Disneyland,we were so happy to see people again. Fast forward to today and I find myself going here about once a month, whenever I'm either driving to or from the Bay Area usually visiting relatives. It's a great spot to pick up the freshest and tastiest fruits and veggies to bring to events. I am also a certified ChiliHead,so their vast collection of hot sauces is unmatched in the area-a true must stop spot for anyone who considers themselves a hot sauce connoisseur. Yep other things that really stand out at Pedricks is their wide variety of fresh nuts available for purchase-they truly have so many varieties and flavors at pretty decent pricing. I also really enjoy their candy selection,I truly need to use extreme discipline when I gaze upon their candy offerings as they have so much and as much of a sweet tooth as I have,I have to learn often to just say no and walk away-I'm glad it's here though. In closing,In case it's not obvious,I really truly do recommend Pedricks as it's a great market offering some of the best fruits and veggies in the area, along with so much more. Love this place.

Parking here is a breeze as they have their own open lot with plenty of spaces. Walking in,it's tough not to just be instantly mesmerized by the pure beauty of the local fresh fruit available. Beautiful peaches, nectarines, cherries and berries-it all look so gorgeous. Inside was a little cramped and I went before they were named the #1 pie shop in America,I'd imagine those tight quarters are having a time handling the crowds it's getting now. My top 3 things I love about Ikedas are as follows. 1.I've always loved the availability of their yummy tamales and really tasty chicken pot pies. Both are generally available fresh or frozen if you want to enjoy these goodies at home. 2.I've always loved the massive availability of hot sauces and snacks that both locations of Ikedas have always had on hand.I always made it a point when I was coming down the hill to stop at Ikedas in Auburn for a tasty tamale-now that I realize the Davis location is so much closer,I can see being able to enjoy those tamales and pot pies so much more often. 3.Pies-enjoying a pie from Ikedas always felt like something that locals knew and they shared with us out-of-towners whenever we happened to visit one of their 2 locations. With the recent award they received naming them best pie shop in America,I imagine those days are over and the secret is out.Now everyone will know what we knew way back when and hopefully this doesn't change them,I hope they can keep the high level of quality with what I'm sure will be a huge leap in demand-I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can. A bonus thing I love about Ikedas is their fruit freezes-they are so good,my niece hipped me to these and man are they worth the price of admission alone-they are so yummy-do yourself a favor and make sure to try one of these on your next trip to Ikedas. In closing, I'm so happy that Ikedas is finally getting the flowers they deserve with their recent award and I am proud to say I voted for them myself. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting one of their two locations,do yourself a favor and get out there and grab some yummy fruit and a piece of pie-it's a good day spent for sure.
