We loved Coastal medical! But, we adored Dr. Laura Dawson!! She is far and away the best pediatrician we could have ever asked for. She is thoughtful, attentive, proactive, friendly, intelligent...I could go on. She has always listened (really listened) to any concerns or thoughts I have voiced. She has insightful solutions to questions. And, I have always left feeling supported and empowered as a mom. Can't say that too often! She takes her time with the kiddos, involving and engaging them in their check up, treating them like smart little people, which makes me (and them) super happy. She also obviously loves kids. I know that seems like it should be an obvious, but not in my experience elsewhere. We had her as our pediatrician for four wonderful years, and unfortunately just moved. We will all miss her more than I could explain. My kids actually liked going to the dr!!! The office has always been able to fit us in. They are great about following up. We really had a wonderful experience here. read more

I've been going to this pediatrician my entire life I'm 26 years old now so I go to an adult doctor But for the time I was here i had two wonderful doctors Docter Hicks started me out she was a doll an absolute pleasure to deal with and after she left Docter Dawson took me over and she was wonderful too so kind and she understood what I needed as far as health care. As for the nurses they were the best so gentle and sweet. Miss Cindy was very good at what she did. Miss Lesley was kind. But I'd have to say it was miss sue who has proven to us all that you don't need a pulse oximeter when taking a pulse in children you can get the same results with tender loving care that you will with any machine. Let me explain it to you. When I went into an exam room she'd have me stand on the scale she'd check my height that sort of thing. Then she'd have me sit on the table she'd check my blood pressure then she'd gently put two fingers on my wrist and keep the time with her watch but with the other hand she'd hold my arm in a nice secure hug as if to say " I love you everything's gonna be fine you have nothing to be scared of. Also sally at the desk when you check in is very helpful she'll smile say hi to you and get your information. Then there's Jane at the checkout desk she's a chatterbox but she'll make your next appointment in a timely fashion she even has stickers when you're all done. Way to go tollgate keep doing what you're doing because you're the best and the people appreciate it read more

I love Dr. Hunt, all of the nurses, and the office staff. Coming from a horrible pediatrician's office in another town, I never knew how good it could be. Everyone is SO nice, and there's no waiting around for an hour while your dr who thinks they're better than you ignores you and plays on their computer chatting with people.. Wish I had come here sooner, I just about cried the first time I left wishing I hadn't put my kids through so many years elsewhere. read more

I WISH i could give this place no stars!! I have a lotttt to say about these people! My issue is, im 20 years old and i still see my old pediatrician for like stupid colds or physicals because ive been having issues trying to switch to an adult doctor! My family all goes to the same one and right now THERE NOT TAKING NEW PATIENTS! JUST my luck right? so im waiting. i call every few months to see if they can add me to there patient list yet but so far no cigar. well, i thought i had strep one time so i called on a saturday to my amazing pediatrician but they were closed so somehow i got referred to this place Toll Gate Pediatrics and i met the MOST IGNORANT people ive everrr known! First all, as im filling out paper work they had the nerve to say outloud to eachother (not thinking id hear) "oh thats the 20 year old looking girl!!!" like really...are you 5?????? YOUR ADULTS! just do your damn job doucheholes! ugh that was rude. then i saw the prissy nurse before the actual doc and she was like your GOING to through away that gum! i wanted to be like..or you could have just asked me to nicely?? then while she was taking my weight my phone rang and it was my mom, shes the nurse is like "NO YOUR NOT GOING TO ANSWER THAT, DOCS ALREADY WAITING FOR YOU!" like seriously????? F U LADY, could you seriously be any more of a serious bitch????? when the doctor came in i told him she was seriously rude! I dont give a shit how old i am im still a fricken patient and your SOOO FAKE to kids and their parents apperenly becuse these are NOT nice people!!! ****go to Dr. Johnny Chavarria!! oh my gosh i love this doctor. so sweet and he always welcomes me back! my family has been doing since my mom was little and i cant believe how much he is always there for us every time we call. He is gentle with shots and REAL, actually nice to all people. so genuine and caring. best pediatrician ever. i wish i was little forever so i could go to him! Let me start out by saying this. I give this place 2 stars because they are very good about taking you in and getting back to you. They made sure to call and check on my daughter, after she got out of the hospital for a condition. I really appreciated that. I'm sure there are many good doctors there. I just happened to, in my opinion, not get one. They gave us Dr. Dawson and I was happy, she was young and seemed nice. My baby was on nutramigan and she said ohhhh no nutramigan, try enfamil gentlease. OK, so I did. Second visit she said she needs a pacifier, and shoved her gloved pinky in my babys mouth... weird, but ok. So now my perfectly happy baby has a pacifier, whatever. Eventually the baby cries all day long and I go in. I see her practitioner, who says by the time we figure it out it will be gone, tells me to feed her less, and sends me away. The next day I look in her mouth and she has thrush. Now I'm a bit unhappy. So our last and final visit to doctor Dawson, was her 4 month appointment. I tell her the baby still cries a lot. So she asks me how I put her to sleep. I say I give her a bottle in her crib and give her a pacifier. This is a last resort, but I don't like the cry it out method. She freaks out, oooohhh no you have to let her cry it out. Tries to make me feel like I'm bad for this. Then she says I shouldn't give her her pacifier...... um, really????? After that she says try the nutramigan. Now I want to bang my head into a wall. The final straw is when at the end, she says, I'm going to give her shots. I say I want to wait on them, because she's already fussy...or at least wait until my husband can be here. She freaks out again. I dont care if he's not here. absolutely not! she can't come back if she doesn't get her shots. So I left. No doctor should mom shame someone. Especially when all the opinions are hypocritical. I'll take my baby elsewhere, where my parental rights are not stripped away. thank you! read more

It's unfortunate that my family will not be able to experience the wonderful care so many of our friends have told us about. Upon first speaking with woman in the office about switching our son from Anchor Medical in Lincoln to this office she was quite helpful. She asked for our medical insurance, and when I mentioned that he is our foster son, she asked if we had any 'other' children in the practice, to which I responded, 'no'. She began stumbling through her words and then asked if we would have him long term, or for just a short time. I explained that our plan was to have him with us for a very long time. In a condescending tone, she suggested we call Hasbro to get a referral for 'foster kids', and then asked if I wanted her to provide me with the number. I declined. To those of you with the type of family that the woman on the other end of the phone welcomes, please know, it is a privilege. The rest of us will continue to search out the highest quality care for our families. read more

This place is terrible! We had Dr mennillo for my 15 month old child. He made us wait almost 2 hours in the room, we had an appointment !! Anytime we would have an appointment we would wait at least an hour! There were a couple of times we had Dr hunt, he is the laziest Dr I have ever met! He just sits there on his computer, making personal phone calls, he does not care at all! He just cares about how fast he can be so he can get out of there. There's no women doctors besides one who you can't even understand. The nurses are awesome though! Very friendly and nice and sympathetic when we are waiting hours to see the doctor. Do not go here!!!! Unless you want to wait 2 hours to see a doctor! read more

We have taken our son to Toll Gate Pediatrics since he was born a year ago, and we have been consistently pleased! His primary doctor, Dr. Zarlengo, has been helpful in answering all of our questions about our son's health, medical concerns, and parenting practices. We have also seen Dr. Mennillo and Dr. Hunt for sick visits, and they have been great. We have never waited in the waiting room for more than a few minutes, the nurses have been welcoming and kind, and the doctors are knowledgeable and humble enough to ask one another for another opinion when unsure about a diagnosis. It also seems like all of the doctors we have seen are committed to keeping up with the latest research, which we greatly appreciate. In addition, our son has been referred to an allergist and a physical therapist by doctors at Tollgate, and we have been very please with their referrals. I highly recommend this pediatric group to any new parents or any parents looking for a new practice! I feel very lucky to have found them! read more
