We love Dr. Fox and the other doctors at this Pediatricians Office! Highly recommended if you are looking for a good baby/kid doctor. The only issue I have with them: when I call their office I am immediately put on hold for about 5 minutes or more. Maybe they need more staff because they always seem too busy to take calls. This is especially frustrating when I take time at work to call them "quickly" to schedule an appointment or when my baby is sick and I need to talk to a nurse asap to discuss the symptoms! Other than the inattentive office staff, their nurses that call back and the doctors are AMAZING, patient, very knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to discuss concerns and are very gentle with my son. If they fix the office staff issues they will get 5 stars. read more

More complaints about this place. I finally changed docs and they ignored evey single call i made asking for my sons records. After begging they finally sent it through USPS with my tracking number. Its been 2 weeks and my new doc have not received the record. THIS is the worst place you can take your child. Between awful rude nurses and terrible care they also pretend you don't exist once you leave. This place should be closed! read more

We are blown away by Pediatric Associates. 1) Dr. Griffith is excellent. He is practical and no-nonsense. He explains everything, asks questions, and always asks what questions we have. It always feels like a conversation rather than a doctor's visit. 2) We have also seen two other doctors, and they were also great. It's nice that the practice is large enough that if you can't get in to see your primary doctor you can usually see another one, and they seem to have similar approaches to medicine. 3) All of the staff are friendly and helpful. They also don't rush you out of exam rooms. They have offered multiple times that if I need to feed my newborn I can use the room. 4) The practice uses an app that allows you to ask questions, and a nurse usually answers quickly. It's helped me avoid some really silly phone calls. (Is poop supposed to be green?) It also keeps track of appointments, vaccinations, etc. 5) Billing has never been an issue. 6) Weekend hours are a huge help. read more

This place had my doctor pierce my ears when I was 8 years old, so I was not of age to consent because I didn't have the knowledge that my 40 year old male doctor should not be piercing my ear. My mother is an older woman and has no experience with piercings, so I do not blame her for this experience - she was trusting that the doctor knew Best. As someone who has many other body piercings and tattoos now and has respect for the training that professional piercers receive, I am absolutely livid that I experienced this. Not only did this man not have any training in piercing ears, but he pierced it with a piercing gun and had me lying down for the process - both absolute no-no's! I cannot express how glad we are that we picked this practice (and Dr. Griffith). They are incredibly nice and always willing to be there when needed. I have called many times overnight with probably paranoid mom questions and they never seem to mind and call to check back the next day. I never felt like just another patients mom here. We have had multiple children, some special needs as well, which put us in the office a lot and needed a lot of paperwork. They have always been on top of things, pushing to give us what would make our lives easier, etc. We have seen all of the providers in this practice and they are all great, well educated and great to work with. Many different personalities but if you fit with the provider you pick you will be more than happy. I also love that they see patients 7 days a week and I never have to wait. The nurses are also wonderful and so sweet and remember you and details about you...amazing! If you're looking for a pediatrician I highly recommend them! read more

I completely second Alaina, Rebecca and Mary's reviews -- Pediatric Associates is the best this area has to offer when it comes to caring for children. In addition to looking on Yelp, we asked a bunch of our friends where they took their kids for care, and the majority said to call PA immediately. Which doctor? It didn't matter -- they're all wonderful. We were lucky to be assigned Dr Griffith before we even knew this man had been voted RI's best pediatrician 20 years running, not to mention one of the Best Doctors in America (!!!). He visited us in-hospital the day my daughter was born and we immediately developed a great affection for the man; he was incredibly sweet with my baby, kind to me and very reassuring. In fact, he told us our daughter was perfect and that I looked great. I'll never forget it! We had a follow up visit from Dr Heinl before we left, and she was just as kind and gentle. A few days later and we went into the practice for another exam and when Lucy's bilirubin levels came back a tad high, Dr Griffith ordered tests and follow-up "just to be on the safe side". Immediately, my husband and I knew we'd made the right choice -- he was going above and beyond to make sure our daughter was perfectly healthy and had everything she needed. What more can you ask for? In addition to the exceptional level of care, the office is run impeccably. You never wait for more than a minute to be seen, the visits are well timed so you don't have to deal with your kid having a melt down and the place is spotless. There's also plenty of parking and current patients can be seen on the weekends, too -- there is always, always a doctor on call 24/7 so you're never, ever in danger of not being seen by your selected providers. Pretty awesome, right? I can't tell you how much I love these guys, not to mention Dr. Griffith alone. You need to be a pretty special person to be a great pediatrician, and I am so grateful to have this wonderful team of physicians caring for my daughter. Our experience with Pediatric Associates has been top notch since before Day 1. When selecting a new doctor for our to-be-born daughter, my husband and I did some research...but, mainly, went on word of mouth. For those of you doing your homework like a good to-be parent, here's the top reasons to choose Pediatric Associates. 1) Two different doctors visited us while in the hospital, each amazing at making sure that our baby was okay and doing wonders to affirm that we'd gone with the right practice. They were courteous when busting into the room (not to be overlooked), patient with our new questions, and sweet and diligent in caring for a baby that was not even their charge. 2) When we did go in for our first visit just a day later, Dr. Fox (our pediatrician) immediately put us at ease. His easy demeanor calmed all of our fears. He answered questions we didn't even know we had, but in a way that didn't make me feel self conscious or inept. My favorite thing about him? He frequently adds anecdotes from his own experience as a father. Hearing your pediatrician admit that he once melted a bottle when heating it up makes you feel immediately better that you did the same thing. Ditto for hearing about first time flying, giving bottles, etc. 3) The nurses are amazing. When giving shots - terrible at any age - they do their best to calm the baby and the frazzled mom. They never appear rushed, and take the time to soothe the baby that they just poked and prodded. 4) They respond in a timely manner to off-hours calls or 'should I bring my baby in?' calls. I've made both, and they patiently walked me through a list of symptoms, explained what it would mean if the baby had a few of them, etc. There is no 'hold on for 20 minutes while I find someone to talk to you' wait. 5) Speaking of sick babies...they got us right in on an hour's notice when her daycare told us she might have pneumonia. My infant son has been a patient at Pediatric Associates for only a couple of months, but I am already impressed. Their office and doctors are on the top tier here in the state, and I can easily see why. Their office is warm and inviting - staff greet you as you enter. The waiting area is large enough that if you want to keep your coughing sick babe away from others - you can. The examination rooms are clean and modern, and the nurses are top notch. They are incredibly efficient with giving babies shots - which is never a fun experience - but the quicker the better! If you have any questions or concerns, their staff is there to help you at anytime - any day. They even have doctors available for sick visits on Saturday mornings! Easy to get to, plenty of parking, and always willing to answer this first time mom's countless questions. I couldn't be happier. read more

If I could give this place negative 5 stars, I would. I called a few months back tried to get my son transferred to this place, the receptionist failed to mention the out of state requirement during our conversation, just told me I needed get my son's medical records sent over, which I did, after spending $25 on them. Fast forward to 2 months after his records were sent, no call, nothing. So I called to follow up, they claimed they never received the records. So I followed up with my current pediatrician and she said she did have the records sent and also called PA to see if my son's records were misplaced. PA still claimed they never received the records, and told my current pediatrician they're only taking out of state patients, mind you, that part was never mentioned to me to begin with! Two days after my pediatrician's call, someone from PA called me and indicated my son's records were actually received and was at the doctors mailbox for 2 months! Totally ridiculous?! Asked me if I still want to transfer since the doctor would take my son as she felt bad that they didn't see his records till 2 months later...then I asked the person from PA about the out of state requirement I learned from my current pediatrician, she confirmed, so I asked her to check with the doctor to see if she would still take my son since we live in state. And of course, after all the back & forth, the answer is no, she can't take my son because "we live in state". I guess they don't really feel that "bad" after all. I'm not sure how and why none of these people noticed where we live because I'm pretty sure that information is clearly labeled on medical records. On top of that, why does where we live matter?! But since it does matter so much as it's the make or break criteria, why wasn't it the first ask when talking to potential patients??! My bottom line is, if you live in RI, don't bother trying this place as they will only make you jump through all the hoops, pay all the transfer fees for nothing! read more

I've been taking my children to pediatric associates since they were infants. I met and interviewed with Dr. Griffith prior to the birth of my first son and was so impressed by his personality and depth of knowledge. It's no wonder why he is a Top Doc in RI. The office staff and nurses who triage the phones are great. Anytime my babies have a fever, cough, trouble sleeping or any other symptoms, the office is sure to provide advice and willing to see my sickies as needed. I've called them on Thanksgiving for the stomach bug, Christmas for a respiratory infection and in the late night hours for ear infections and Dr. Griffith and his partners have made all the difference. Over the last month, I had to take my 10 month old to Hasbro for an ER visit as they had tools and equipment that the doctors office didn't, and Dr. Griffith promptly called to follow up and ask how the baby was doing. What I love most about Pediatric Associates is that they give parents the tools to feel confident in making decisions and giving the best care to their children. read more

Unfortunately I had to change my 4 star review to a 1 star review. My kids have been coming here since they were born, my son is now 13 and my daughter is now 9. The quality of care has gone downhill, my daughter was laughed at by one of the female doctors (not dr Townsend) as she tried to explain an ongoing stomach pain she's been dealing with, my daughter is very smart and very well spoken for her age and does not lie, for a physician to do something like this is completely unacceptable, rude, and disrespectful, I told mentioned this to her actual physician dr Griffith and nothing was done about it and he seemed to brush me off like no big deal. He seems like to be rushing through patients now after all these years and bed side manner went down too, when it came time for the pelvic check it was done abruptly, quickly, and without notice to my child, we were engaged in conversation but still, my daughter knows she has to have that area checked to make sure she's healthy and she never looks forward to that part of the exam, the dr usually let's her know but not this and that was the last straw for me. I'm sad to leave but not really. My children should feel comfortable and I should be at ease as a mother of 2. Just didn't feel like I was taken seriously, I've worked in the medical field for over 15 years and I had to ask for specific testing for my child to rule out certain possibilities, just ridiculous, I'm so upset with the patient care! read more

My daughter has been seeing Dr Griffith (primary) and others in this practice since we moved to East Providence in 2005. At each visit and during all of my occasional phone questions, we have received excellent care and guidance delivered with kindness. Dr Griffith has even managed to make my child feel comfortable, confident and respected throughout all phases of her transition from toddler to teenager. No small feat! Terrible waits on the phone!! Once I waited over 20 minutes and gave up. Many times i have called and been told "Please hold on" and then the long, long waits to talk to someone! I complained to the office manager about this, and also the inability to ever talk to the doctor. This practice seems to be overbooking, and very short of patient care and concerns. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Griffith since the birth of our son Callum in February. As a first time mother, you are always worrying, Dr Griffith not only was wonderful when we were at his practice, he would call us on the weekend to check in! I don't think I ever had a medical professional reach out on what would be his time off. I can't say enough great things about this practice. Dr. Griffith is my children's pediatrician and I have recommended him to other mothers. He is amazingly friendly, patient and kind. The whole practice is absolutely amazing. If I call with a question, they call back in less than 15 minutes, I've never been put on an infinite hold while calling and any time my children have had lab work done, Dr. Griffith has called me with the results himself. When I first had my daughter (my first child), I took her in a few days after she was born and Dr. Griffith asked me how I was doing. I told him that I had been a bit weepy and that I was worried that she wasn't getting enough to eat ( I was breastfeeding). This was on a Friday. He told me to make an appointment for that Sunday so that we could weigh her. It rained heavily that Sunday so I didn't want to take my baby out. Dr. Griffith called me on a Sunday evening at about 7 PM just to see how I thought she was doing and to find out how I was feeling. I was sold from that moment on. The staff is friendly, the office is inviting and the doctors are caring and give you all the time you need so you never feel rushed. read more
