1/5 -- Repeated Billing Problems…read more I was a patient of Dr. Akhil Gupta at Skin Center of Florida and stopped seeing him in October 2025, largely because of my repeated frustration with the practice's billing. My experience was that I would pay what I was asked to pay, frequently in advance, and on more than one occasion I believed my account was fully paid, only to later be told that I owed additional money. On one previous occasion, I challenged a bill and the charge was subsequently removed. The latest incident happened approximately ten months after I stopped seeing Dr. Gupta. I received a call regarding an outstanding pathology bill. When I called Dr. Gupta's office and asked which visit the charge related to, the office could not identify the specific visit and instead gave me three possible dates: June 5, 2024, September 15, 2025, and October 1, 2025. I then had to track the matter down myself. Global Pathology/Sonic Healthcare's Miami office was ultimately able to identify records associated with the two 2025 dates and directed me to CCS regarding a balance of $183.62. I negotiated a 15% reduction and paid $156.08 to resolve that account in full. To be clear, my complaint is not that this final pathology balance was necessarily improper. My complaint is the repeated billing confusion I experienced and the amount of work required to determine what I was supposedly being billed for. Patients should be able to receive a clear accounting showing the date of service, insurance adjustments, payments and credits, and the actual amount owed. In my experience, getting those answers was unnecessarily difficult. After repeated billing problems, I finally decided I had had enough and stopped using the practice. Based on my personal experience with its billing and administration, I would not return and cannot recommend this practice.

my girlfriend went through a horrific incident involving her getting bit on both hands and arms and…read morewas rushed from jfk to st marys for trauma care. on discharge the hospital referred us to dr. saylor's office. when i called to make the urgent appointment last friday the woman from saylor's office told me that they do not take her insurance but because she was just coming from st mary's the only possible fee would be "if they needed xrays". we really just wanted her to see a specialists asap and since she say dr. saylor in the hospital we wanted to stick with him. i took off work for the incident, and two days. this 1:45pm appointment was the fastest we could be seen so we took it and i left work again because she cannot drive with the injuries. after waiting in the waiting room for 30 minutes i realized that something was wrong so i asked and low and behold, they missed our sign in because somebody screwed up. then the called us in and said "today's visit will be $300. he may be a great doctor but his office staff needs training in customer relations. the never said anything about a fee to see the doctor. so upset my girlfriend started to cry and we walked out!

He took his time and i felt that he asked all the right questions. I definitelywill go back to him again. I asked that, he send a summary of my visit, to two of my doctors, he then dictated a summary of my visit and had the office give me two written copies of my visit summary, which i will deliver to my doctors on Monday(today is Friday). His office is well managed and everything seemed very organized, much better than most high volume offices. I'd say the entire visit was a strong five star visit. Not one problem at at all everything was perfect.
