Complete rip-off artists. Beware of this service department and this dealership in general. I went in for an oil change and to have a rough idle checked. They charged me $205 just to tell me the cause was worn engine and transmission mounts on a vehicle that's only 6 years old. I previously worked in Toyota service, and based on my experience, this was not a mount issue and certainly did not match the symptoms I was feeling. This was on top of a $100 oil change for a 4-cylinder engine. If you simply want to throw money away, then take your car here. Otherwise, I'd recommend finding a dealership that values honesty and accurate diagnostics. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this dealership's service department. My vehicle has required not one, but TWO engine replacements under their care, which already raises serious concerns about the quality of work being performed. After the most recent engine installation, I was told the vehicle was ready for pickup. However, upon arrival, the car was clearly not in proper condition and was making abnormal noises. I dealt directly with a service representative named Alex, and the information I received throughout this process was inconsistent and, at times, concerning. Instead of properly addressing the issue, I was given questionable guidance. At one point, I was even advised to remove catalytic converters that had been replaced less than six months ago and were still under warranty, which makes no sense. Now, the situation has worsened: the vehicle does not start at all. Despite this, I was told to "drive it," which is not only unrealistic but completely irresponsible. A non-operational vehicle cannot be driven, and suggesting otherwise reflects a serious lack of professionalism and accountability. At this point, I have lost all confidence in this service department. Multiple major repairs have failed, communication has been poor, and no real resolution has been provided. This has resulted in significant inconvenience, wasted time, and ongoing uncertainty about the reliability of my vehicle. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Tom Gibbs Chevy. We purchased a used vehicle and paid an additional $3,000 for what was presented to us as an 80,000-mile warranty. We were led to believe this meant coverage for 80,000 miles of use. However, the dealership wrote the contract so that the warranty expired at 80,000 miles total on the odometer. Our car already had 65,000 miles at purchase, which means we essentially paid $3,000 for only 15,000 miles of coverage. Now, with just 82,000 miles on the vehicle, the warranty has expired, and the repairs we need--over $2,000 worth--are not covered. In total, this feels like a $5,000 loss between the warranty cost and the uncovered repairs. This practice is misleading and unethical. Buyers should be very cautious and carefully review every detail of the warranty paperwork before signing. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

Find a car on cargurus, ask for a shipping quote, fill out financing, and they send you a quote that's a couple of grand higher than what's on the cargurus. Ask a couple of questions about price and include a screenshot of the cargurus price. All of sudden the car is "unfortunately sold," and they're "SUPPOSED" to pick it up tomorrow. Nudge and a wink, maybe they won't! Law of the jungle, baby. Okay, just another car dealer. Be prepared. To be fair it might be a small town dealership and they treat folks they live around great, but if you're not _from_ that town, you should expect the standard dealership experience. While going through a very difficult time, we found the vehicle that we needed at this dealership, but down the deposit and electronically signed the paperwork. Due to having all the kids and work, we were unable to get to the dealership for several days - and they called us the morning before we were able to go and sold it to someone else. Never again. Bought tires 2 years ago guaranteed for 80,000 miles. Terrible shimmy at 78mph. Took the truck back twice but it never completely went away. Finally went to a tire place and was told the tires have dry rot and are wearing unevenly. Back to Tom Gibbs. Nothing they can do! Wouldn't even address the dry rot or uneven wear. I am not impressed with the service department. They failed to c orrectly reinstall the tire sensors on my car. The failure to correctly reinstall the sensor resulted in me having a over inflatted tire. I had to locate something in which to deflate my tire. Then try to figure out which tire was actually going flat. This was all done while standing along side a road in the temperature of 93 degrees. read more

My husband and I went to Tom Gibbs and my husband just wanted to drive around, but I said we should park and went to look at used vehicle, a salesman came right out and asked if we were working with anyone and we said we were told to see Raymond so the salesman went to get him. Raymond came out and asked us to come in and look on the website to decide which vehicles we truly wanted to look at when he was finished with the customer he was with we requested to look at a Nissan rogue and a 2022 Mazda CX 30. We test drove the Nissan rogue and then we test drove the 22 Mazda CX 30, we liked how the Mazda rode and drove. When we came back, my husband was asking about factory warranty and was told that it was void, but they offer 3 month/3000 mile warranty. It only had 17,000 miles on it, that didn't sound right and then the paperwork was brought out and the dealership fee said $1195 and we saw online $995 for dealership fees. That's when Raymond told my husband well it's only $200 difference. My husband was feeling scammed at this point so he was on their website and he found a 2025 Mazda CX 30 and said we wanna look at this one because it has less miles and only $2000 dollars more. Raymond went to go look for this, but my husband decided that we were leaving as he just felt not right about the whole situation. We went out to our vehicle and as we were backing out the manager, Joe came out and spoke with us about the dealership fee, just being changed at 10 a.m. and also told us no factory warranty is ever void, give us another shot so we decided to go in and look at stuff. Two days later, I called and requested a call back about the floor mats from the 2022 vehicle but no one called me back so on the third day I spoke with Raymond and asked him about the floor mats and he said they won't fit in your vehicle and we can't do that and he had another manager get on the phone and was told they cannot take floor mats out of another vehicle. I then asked about getting brand new floor mats but was told since they are a Chevy dealership they can't get these we have to get a hold of Mazda to get them also we want to make a note that we did not negotiate with the price of the 2025 Mazda CX 30 at all. Raymond told us that if we wanted to adjust the price that would all have to go through financing which we were told that would of been done with Raymond. At this point we had been there over 5 hours and ready to leave. i then told them I wanted to return the car and we would go somewhere else and we were told that there is no grace period and we are stuck with the car because of our contract we signed. I decided to put up a Google review about our experience and within two hours Joe the original manager we worked with called me and said we can definitely have the floor mats from the other vehicle as long as we can take down the bad review that we had given. I did take down the bad review and today I went to pick up the floor mats and asked if we could just have the fuel topped off since we had been lied to on multiple occasions about the floor mats and the warranty and the dealership fees, but Joe told me that since we were given two additional oil changes and the floor mats, there was nothing else additional he can do. I can't remember ever feeling less valued as a customer. I don't typically write reviews, but after the treatment I received I feel compelled to warn people away. I brought my Wrangler in for a simple oil change. I had an appointment. I waited nearly TWO HOURS. When the service guy came in to tell me it was finally ready, he said the tech over-tightened then broke a part on my Jeep but didn't realize it until he had started the Jeep; oil went everywhere. It took 2 hours because he was "replacing the broken part and cleaning up the mess." When I got home, oil was dripping in my driveway from under my Jeep, so much that I couldn't tell if it was from the mess or if it was actively leaking. I called and was told to bring it in the next day to get it cleaned. Brought it in and was not permitted a loaned vehicle because "it would take longer to check out the loaner than it was going to take to clean it." Hmm, so that means you're not planning on spending a lot of time on it, undoubtedly doing a poor job. Waited AGAIN, with no offer to recompense my gas for driving back and forth to the dealership or my time. I spent a total of five hours getting the oil changed in my vehicle, a job that should have taken 30 minutes. I had filled up my gas tank just before heading to the dealership; now I have about 3/4 of a tank. It just sucks. read more

The experience of remotely purchasing a Mercedes S600 from this dealership was a disappointing one. The communication was not great from the start, but we finally got everything going, agreed on a price, and finalized the logistics. The next day, when I was ready to wire the funds, I was told that the car had an error message (light lit on the instrument panel) regarding one of the airbags. The dealership informed me that they did not plan to address the issue, and that was odd because airbags are considered safety items, and I expected them to have it fixed. After spending some time with the dealership's service lead, I involved my tech, who brought in a Mercedes technician to help resolve the issue remotely. Along the way, as the car's system was scanned, we discovered multiple other error messages, including an inoperative pump for the contoured seats. My team here, spending over 6 hours trying to figure things out, determined that they could "solve" everything over here, so I gave my salesman at the dealership the go-ahead but asked for an additional reasonable discount (around $1K) to cover at least some of the expenses I was going to be incurring. My request was refused (strangely) quickly, and I foolishly decided to elevate it to the attention of the owner, Tom Gibbs. Tom was responsive but practically uncooperative, stating that he preferred selling the car at auction to another dealer in Florida (one with a poor reputation, I might add) rather than selling it to me with an additional discount. As we faced an impasse, the dealership (Tom, specifically) ignored all the time and effort me and my team here, as well as his own team there, put into the deal and sold the S600 to the other dealer in Florida. I found that course of action unprofessional, and Tom's unwillingness to work with me was pretty disappointing. read more

Don't buy anything from those people, I spend $31,000 for a truck that suppose to be able to pull 10000 pounds of load. It turns out that the truck they sold me missing a electric brake system so it cannot pull that weight. They said that they will take care of the issue, and 10 days later they called me to bring the truck to them. They installed the part but ask me to pay $140 for the installation. After some arguments I paired the money, but it's not good practice to charge me for a service that I did not agree to pay. No one said that it will cost money. I wouldn't buy the truck if they said that it missing a parts. Hope this will help you to make the right decision not to do business with those people. Mike read more

Not a pleasant experience! I exchanged about 2 emails with Keith on a Saturday. I then called and left him a voicemail asking for a return call or email. When neither of those happened, my wife and I decided to make the 2 hour drive to the dealership because there were 2 trucks that I was interested in. I arrived and was able to test drive one of the trucks. I was told the keys to the second truck were locked up in the Service Dept and nobody could access them today. I asked if he would look at my truck and see what it would be worth on trade. Now I have been to two other dealerships in the last month, one delaership offered 15k and the second offered 16.5k on trade for similar trucks with similar price tags. Keith returned with a trade in value of $7k. When I informed him of the other offers and was willing to show proof, asking why this one was so different, he repsonded with "THE REALITY IS your truck isn't worth that in retail". I informed him that the other offers were similar trucks with similar price tags and he stated that "I wasn't comparing apples to apples" even though I was. When I pointed out that at the end of the day, the amont financed is what matters and his offer was $8-9.5k more, he challenged me to walk into the other dealers and ask for a check for 15k or 16.5k to purchase my truck and not trade it in and see what happens. I did not bother to inform him that I have a KBB instant cash offer of $13.3k, from no less than 6 participating dealerships, to purchase my vehicle sight unseen. I did not bother informing him of that because I don't feel that I should continuing exhanges with an argumentative sales person who should be trying to sell me a $40k truck. It appears that he is the one out of touch WITH REALITY. I don't understand how he sells vehicles being so argumentative with customers after offering about 50% of true trade in value. He obviously did not want to be working on a Sunday. At then end of the day, I'll purchase my truck at another dealership. My advice to others is to know your vehicle's value before accepting their offer! read more

Do not buy a car from this dealership. They sold a car to my 80 year old father. Who wa not in his right mind. And they even had to call many finance companies to force this sale. He drove it one day. Was so stressed about making payments with money he didn't have. The sales rep, Robert Kaufman, even said to me he seemed disoriented and was on the phone with someone else that was trying to scam my father. They pushed the sale through. Dad goes into the hospital the next day. Yes he only drove it one day. 8 weeks from that day, he's was in the icu this whole time. He passed away. As soon as he went in the hospital I contacted the sales rep and he said they would take the car back. Well I just spoke with Mike Bufler, the sales manager, and he said car is only worth $24,000 and he owes $29,000. That math doesn't seem right does it. My mom has no money to take this debt on and I was just trying to see if I could get her the money for the vehicle he traded in and they take the car back. So now we have to go this route and get with the attorney to deal with a dealership that took advantage of an old man with dementia. Next post show you all the credit report of how many finance companies they called to force this sale through because his credit is horrible. This now becomes a legal issue and a reputation issue with the dealership. read more

Wow, where do I begin with this dealership? If I could give them a zero star rating, I would after the shenanigans these guys put me through today. First off, I'm an online customer (beware: online customers are treated as second class at this dealership). I inquired about a particular truck they had listed for sale. It's been listed for awhile and I decided to pursue a possible purchase and asked questions and requested pictures and video (which is what you do if you're trying to purchase). They responded with pictures and video sent by a salesman named Keith. I was in constant discussion and back and forth with Keith getting information about the truck. Then, I had an issue with some pinstripes that were on the truck and asked if there was a way to remove those. All the sudden, I get a message from Keith, "Truck just sold to another customer. Let me know if you are interested in something else." No initial apologies or anything. Keith didn't even have the decency to tell me that someone else was test driving it at the same time I was trying to proceed with acquiring information and a possible purchase. So.. out of nowhere, the truck just happened to sell AFTER I was already inquiring and attempting to proceed with a purchase. Case in point, If I had been at the dealership, physically, this would've never been allowed to take place because I would've already pulled the vehicle aside and we were discussing a possible purchase. Why didn't this happen for me? I gave them every indication I was seriously interested. This rule, apparently doesn't apply to online customers! Apparently, if you're online, you're not treated seriously, fairly or equal to those who walk in. They made that perfectly clear today by wasting my time and leading me to believe I was able to buy the truck and then allowed someone else to take the truck and purchase it. Try doing that at a dealership if you are in person. See how far you get! EXAMPLE: Suppose you go to a dealership and test drove a vehicle and we're asking questions about it.. what does the dealership do? They set the vehicle ASIDE because you are inquiring and attempting to buy it. If someone else walks in after you and asks to see the same car, what do they tell that customer? They would say, "sorry, that vehicle is spoken for and someone is attempting to buy." If it doesn't work out with that first customer, THEN the vehicle gets put back out and someone else can then attempt to test drive or purchase. This is how it works and the same courtesy should apply to an online customer. I tried emailing the owner (I'm assuming) by the name of "Tom Gibbs" but (of course) he didn't care. All he cared about is that it sold.. not the unfair way it happened. This dealership was unfair to me as an online customer. Not only was my time wasted, I wasn't given the same rights and privileges as the customer who walked in and was able to grab the truck after I was making an attempt to buy it. Online customers are apparently not taken seriously and treated as second rate here. They made that abundantly clear today. EDIT: My response to Tom Gibbs reply: Again, I was already attempting to purchase the vehicle before you allowed the other customer to test drive the vehicle. The test drive shouldn't have been allowed if I was already attempting to purchase. It wouldn't have been allowed if I was there in person, correct? I would've made sure of that. You would've clearly told him someone else is now trying to purchase and I should have at least been asked first! I wasn't given that opportunity. Also, your reply to me through email earlier today clearly stated that the other customer didn't commit when he walked in your dealership. You now tell me he came from an hour away? I see. So, according to you, he had to "test drive" it and take it to his home first to see if it "fit in his garage." You're telling me that you allowed a customer (who hadn't committed to buying the truck yet) to take a 2-hour long round trip test drive just to see if it fit in his garage? That's one hell of a test drive. Hmm.. I wonder if he's friends with someone there. Makes me wonder. AND I'm supposed to believe he walked in 2 minutes before I responded to you? Sure he did. BUT.. even if he did, I was already showing more interest by then with your salesman Keith and he knows it. I wasn't born yesterday Mr. Gibbs.. but nice try. I'm willing to bet someone tipped that customer off that another customer was showing interest and he hurried and bought it. And AGAIN, what does it matter if I'm from California and the other customer was an hour away? The fact that I'm from California shouldn't work against me.. but you've proven it does. Never we're we told they were rerunning credit through many other lenders and we did not sign giving them permission! Next thing I know we were told the interest rate was mid 6% (ridiculous). Next came add add add in finance. when we called back within 12 hours to have it all cancelled, we were told that the finance manager did us a favor getting the interest down to 4.99% and if we cancelled all the extras we would still stay at the same payment though the loan would be almost 5k less.
