There's a lot of development still happening in the area so the area around CineVita looked kind of rough but there was a dirt path lined with some trees to get to the venue which literally faces SoFi Stadium. I can't imagine how congested it would be if you had tickets to a show and there was also something going on a SoFi. Picnic area/bar/food stations were outside the venue. Concession stand and bar was also inside the venue. The queuing to get scanned in didn't make sense to me and felt like it took way longer than it should and it was not even that busy yet. They have mobile ordering at the table so I ordered a slice of Pepperoni pizza. I've seen comments saying the food isn't good, but it's more or less the same quality food at a movie theater or at the stadium. It was expensive and fine for what it was, but I fully expected that. One thing I'll say is the wine selection was pretty good and so was the liquor selection. Clearly they could tell that the audience attending CineVita was not your typical sporting event beer drinking crowd. Show was supposed to start at 7:30pm supposedly but didn't really start until 8pm. There was a quick intro speech highlighting the venue itself which is a Spiegel tent. Thought it was a pretty well made temporary structure. Seating for the shared tables was very crammed. So much that even the servers had trouble passing by which seemed not great in case of an emergency. Given the larger size of Americans, don't think these small tables should have more than 4 max at a table for the most optimal experience. There were 8 of us crammed at my table and it was a pretty uncomfortable experience. Fortunately I was in an aisle so was able to spill over into the aisle a bit, but I felt bad for the couple that was at the front of our table and on the other side who was wedged between people from two other tables. Nobody wants to be that close to each other! Performances for Teen Beat Live definitely were nostalgic for me as someone born in the 80s. Lots of great classic 80s songs were performed throughout the show and seeing this is LA, the performers were excellent! I definitely was dancing in my seat the entire time! Restroom facilities are a fancy porta potty that are very tight inside. Knowing the venue was a portable tent, I thought they had the nicest quality of porta potties at least. Overall a great experience. I hope they take guest feedback about seating and the overall flow getting into the venue into account and work out the kinks as I definitely think the concept itself has potential.

It felt very Vegas or cruise ship, instead of clever and quirky LA immersive plays. Drinks and food are pretty pricy but they sell off the pizzas for $10 at the end of the evening (which I appreciate).

If you like immersive theater, this is the show for you…read more It's all in the details, and they are pretty cool. First, you get a "welcome to the ward" email the day of the event. Then, once you get onsite all of the actors are in period 1950s costumes--nurses uniforms, lab coats, etc. For the first 45 minutes there is a "pre-show" where you can explore the set and interact with the characters and there is a scavenger hunt type quest you can take part in that is ingenious and totally fun with secret rooms and such. The set is also wonderful and they have lots of great touches. For example, some of the drinks at the commissary (the bar) come in a huge syringe or in a blood bag. They even have vintage magazines and games around the room. At one part in the show patients pass out "medicine" and it comes in 1950s specimen cups! The show itself is well done and clever and the actors use the space well. Also, their lighting designer is a genius. There are two different prices: one for "chronic patients" who sit and observe the show and "acute" patients who get more involved. It is about $25 more for the more immersive experience, but it isn't that immersive once the show starts--but you do get to sit closer (actually on the "stage" which is the floor of the room). All of this was just laying the groundwork for the real event scheduled to happen a week later. As instructed, I found the parked car in the secret location under the 1st street bridge. After being invited, I reluctantly got in. It was filthy. It started out as an uncomfortable interrogation and I wasn't sure whether I should remove my hand from the door handle. "Who Are you?" "Why are you here?" "Is anybody with you?" I was overwhelmed with confusion. I was told people were watching us. I was shooed away, but not before I was given a packet with material that would lead me to the next part of the journey. Throughout the course of the day, I would learn about the Enola Foundation and its effort to draw people into the ranks of its mysterious cult. I traversed the L.A. area, searching for more information. I went to places in my own city I had never been before. I did things I would never normally do. I interacted with people with the objective of getting the most out of the experience. I spent the day with a heightened sense of awareness. I can honestly say, this was probably one of the best experiences of my life. It has been about 2 years since this experience, and I have been to every Alone event since. Sorry to day, they are not all hits, but I will tell you that they are usually unlike anything you have ever done before. I love the creativity of this group and their true desire to bring something special to their audience.

Not necessarily easy to find at first but I'm glad I was aware then there were signs too. The theater is pretty small with three rows in front then sitting on both sides. Perhaps a capacity of 100? Very intimate. Not sure how the view is from the sides however. I loved the play. A series of 6 plays is around $235 which is very reasonable. I'll definitely come back! The restrooms are ancient with doors that are wayyy too small, but I guess it's common for a school? Briefly met the artistic director who is clearly passionate about his job and doing his best to keep this theatre alive. I loved that.

If my SUV could fit more people I would have asked more friends to join us. Parking was so easy, subterranean, safe and you walk right into the building from their underground garage. David the Managing Director was so personable and inviting, he seemed to know a lot of the attendees by name as regulars. Went…read morelast year for the first time and then twice this year to see both Production A (The Unnameable, the Chimes, and Cask of Amontillado) and Production B **new** (Casting the Runes, A Ghost Story, and The Body Snatcher). I brought a bunch of people with me to see Production A this year. It was amazing as always... Note to newcomers - if you are meeting people at the event, make sure that all members of your group receive the same color sticker on their program. You want to stay together in the same group. Also note that they have coffee, hot apple juice (which they insist on calling cider), and a few candy bars. $2 each or 2 items for $3. Bring cash, a jacket as you will be outside for a time, and comfortable shoes for walking and standing for short periods. The plays are immersive as you walk following the characters and story progression through the creepy and eeriliy lit long hallways of the mausoleum... and through the cemetery across the street. Most of the acting is great. Last night was unusual because they had BOTH productions going on at the same time. I was concerned that we would be running into each other in the corridors and we would lose the integrity of the individual plays with competing noise in the background. They actually handled it really well and there was only about 5 minutes when I was distracted by noise from another play. Production B was very good for the most part. I will not forget the images from Casting the Runes and The Body Snatcher. The Ghost Story however, started out GREAT but then the second half was kind of ridiculous. What annoyed me most was the fact that because it wasn't as long as the other plays and they all had to end at the same time, the guide read us "The Raven" as we walked back. Now, I take my Poe seriously and want it done right or not at all. This guy read it from the folder, lost his place a few times, used a voice that I assume was supposed to be funny (and wasn't). It just wasn't done well. If they HAD to fill up that time, (and I hope they read this review) they should have the poem read at the original site and read seriously by someone who can do it properly... by candlelight... with some thunder, rain, and lightning in the background. I was not only disappointed, but mad that it had been done so poorly. I could have read it better (and not from a folder). All in all, it's still a Halloween favorite and the location is fantastic and used well.

The black box theatre is a staple among the 99 seat venues that work their heinies off for little, if any money. It ain't easy, but they make it look relatively so. Theatre of NOTE has their own company, but other shows come here, too. They are one of the Hollywood Fringe Festival spaces, so there is at any time, several different shows in residence there. They have a cool lobby and bar, too. Some shows are PWYC (Pay What You Can), while others have a set price. I've probably seen five shows here over the years, and look forward to coming here. Modest, but comfortable seats and working A/C - gotta love that. Right off of Sunset, it's super convenient to get to and easy to arrange pre or post activities. Been a fan awhile, but just had never reviewed them before. So, go support local theatre. There's some great stuff out there, and very often, it's at Theatre of NOTE.

I was here to see a play on the main stage. Akuma-shin was in its second night of its world premier at Sacred Fools. As Michael T. said in his review, the company is a risk taker. It was a bad night in a way because it was the evening before Easter. There were more people in the cast than in the audience. That's always a challenge for the actors, I would assume, but it was a challenge to which the rose. The theatre itself is very comfortable and it's perfectly laid out. The production cleverly unfolded with actors in unexpected places. As it turned out, the script was not one of which I was fond. After a giant monster destroys Tokyo, the play is what ensues after the destruction and how it changes history. A shoutout to a very talented cast but especially to Corey Klemow as William F. Buckley Jr. Those of us who lived through the Buckley era could see how Mr. Klemow nailed all of Buckley's eye rolls, head movements, and his general disdain for people to be of less intellect than him--or so he thought. When I'm coming to Los Angeles again for a weekend of theatre, I'll always check to see what Sacred Fools has to offer. PS: I was told that Buster Keaton used to film in the building and there's a star on a sidewalk near the theatre. Hollywood history!

Plus you can text and order the snacks on your phone too for delivery to your vehicle. You can also bring whatever food you want - there are plenty of trash cans too. Screen resolution is great - even on a Smokey Fire day at 4:30pm the LED jumbo screen is clear - only a few night dark scenes fade out a little during the daytime but not a big thing. Everything else looks fantastic on the large screen even during the daytime. Sound is through two stations on your car stereo or you can also stream through your phone if needed from their website. They even do movie previews for about 15mins. All the covid precautions are put in place and well managed. Vehicles are even staggered and given plenty of space to get out of your vehicle to stretch if needed. A few even parked backwards to sit in the back of their open suv areas. Security staff riding around on bicycles and also to answer any questions. You can't beat this activity for $35 with two or more people while the theaters are still closed. Plenty of restrooms as well that they are constantly cleaning. Way to go rose bowl for being one of the first to do this!
