I have used them as a provider for four months, but I'm breaking up with them today…read more 1. They were nice enough in my first visit, but scheduled my appointment with a doctor who told me during our visit that he was quitting. Why would they place a new patient with a therapist who was leaving? 2. They are incessant about their TMS option. When I told them that the approximate $4,000 (!!!) cost was way out of my price range, they "discounted" it down to $1,000 magically, and repeatedly called me to schedule an appointment, even though I told them that was still too expensive at this time. 3. They have required a monthly visit the first four months, even though I was seeing my previous therapist once every six months for a condition I've had under control for 4+ years. 4. On this last visit, I was told by the provider that it would be two months until my next visit, and wrote me a prescription for 60-days instead of 30-days. 5. I was randomly assigned an appointment for today, one month after my last appointment. I did not schedule it, I did not ask for it. 6. Their office charged me $75 for a no-show appointment this morning. 7. The front desk receptionist, who obviously hates her job, told me that I was wrong about my appointment date, the follow-up date, and had no response when I asked why I would be scheduled for a 30-day check-in when my therapist wrote me a 60-day prescription. Seems to me like one of those groups that is taking advantage of the mental health provider shortage by treating their patients like cattle, nickel and diming them along the way. I've already opened a credit card dispute, but wanted to hop on here to warn everyone that this may be a good short-term solution if you are in desperate need of an appointment immediately, but find a solid practice with ethics and morals for the long-term.

I have been a huge advocate for therapy and have been going for over 15 years. This is the first…read moretime I have ever felt obligated to write a review about one. I started with Jennifer recently in looks for an EMDR specialized therapist that took my insurance. Her website was very enticing and seemed to be a good fit with how she advertised herself. I began using her services and quickly I found out she was not a good fit. I wanted to give her some time to see if the rapport would build. I am someone who does not have a set schedule and she highly pushed for a weekly appointment. I also work with another therapist who does not take my insurance but absolutely have seen improvement and help with that one, so I was dividing time between the two of them. I am also in the travel industry and do NOT have a set schedule so my schedule changes weekly; some weeks are busier than others. I told her weekly would not work with me, and bi weekly would be best. She canceled the next appointment and I would continue with the following week. The following week ended up I needed to travel and needed to cancel that appointment as well. She makes you sign a cancellation policy which states cancellations you pay out of pocket, which is standard if you are cancelling 24 hours or less. I canceled my appointment 3 days prior with ample time within policy guidelines. I immediately got an email for rescheduling and I stated I would not be able to reschedule due to overloaded schedule. She then proceeded to tell me that since I cancelled I would have to pay out of pocket 140$ since she gave me a "free bee" cancellation already. Again she did not, that is when I told her I was switching to bi weekly because I did not want to continue weekly with her. I truly believe she is in this profession for self gain and not to truly help others. In 15 years I have never had such an absurd canceling process like it is a blood oath to go to a therapist that you reach out to for help. Do yourself a favor, unless you want to be burdened and bound to this therapist. Seek someone who truly wants to help and not find a way to take your money at any means possible. If you are seeking someone's services, you shouldn't be forced to. If you seek a hair stylist and you cancel an appointment within respectable amount of time, do they force you to go and get their services? No. I felt like I was in another forceful trapped relationship with my therapist. It's a NO for me.

Every single person at this office has been kind, caring, and attentive every time I have engaged with them, including Brenda, who is mentioned in a negative review here but was, for me, an essential part of my chronic depression recovery. Mind Care Services takes Medicaid/Medi-Cal healthcare, so the reviews you read here may be provided by people who are or were at their wits' end and may have been looking for more than a health care provider can give. I got my Spravato treatments at this office, and they let me walk myself home, which resulted in some terrifying side effects, but that was my choice to bend the rules. They did try to advise me against it, but I didn't want to understand what the consequences could be, so I insisted upon self-monitoring instead of securing a social support person to ground me. Like with some people's experience of ketamine, I am certain that the benefits of my recovery from depression significantly outweigh the drawbacks of the rare side effects I had with Spravato, even after needing crisis hospitalization twice. I can feel happy for the first time since I was a child, and I can manage my life in a way that I'm not embarrassed to bring friends into.

1-Star Review for St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach - Emergency Department…read more My family and I had an extremely disappointing and distressing experience at St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach Emergency Department. My mother arrived at the ER at 12:17 PM and wasn't checked in until 12:48 PM. Two hours later, she still hadn't been seen by a doctor. When I called the hospital, I spoke with Bertha in the ER, who couldn't even locate my mother in the system. After multiple calls and transfers, Rickie in admitting finally told me that my mother had been discharged for "not showing up"--even though she had been sitting in the waiting area the entire time. It turned out the staff had confused her with another patient and provided my mother's information to someone else, which is completely unacceptable. Rickie was kind enough to apologize and help get my mother re-registered, but by the time I arrived at 6:10 PM, my mom had already endured hours of waiting and confusion. She was eventually sent for a CT scan, but when the technician (an Asian woman whose name we didn't get) pulled on my mother's arm despite her saying she was in pain from arthritis, my mom was ignored and even laughed at. I requested to speak with a charge nurse, and Jason was professional and compassionate--he listened, apologized, and tried to help expedite the pending results. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were dismissive and rude. When shift change happened, communication got worse. The new charge nurse seemed uninterested and defensive, raising her hands as if we were a threat when we tried to calmly explain what had happened. To make things worse, there was confusion about a urine sample--staff claimed my mother "refused," even though she was never asked. Throughout the night, we were met with eye rolls, cold attitudes, and no empathy. We overheard other patients expressing frustration after waiting 3+ hours to even be seen by a doctor. Overall, our experience lasted over 8 hours, and my mother was subjected to errors, disrespect, and negligence. The only person who showed compassion was Jason, and we truly appreciated his effort to communicate clearly and advocate for her. This ER needs serious improvement in patient safety, communication, and staff professionalism. No family should have to go through what we did.

I understand that the filth is brought in by us, the patients, but regular cleaning, and upholding standards is a must.
