I am a single woman on a fixed income and I needed a catalytic converter installed in my jeep I…read morebought the part at an auto parts store took it to Sheldon to install I paid $600 for the part and 250 for the installation and they called informed me it was ready to be picked up, I took the car back two days later and told them it was not fixed and I needed them to pull the catalytic converter out because there was something wrong with it they claimed it was a tranny issue I got that checked out, not a tranny issue! they did this back in August we have gone back-and-forth I've asked them to pull it so I can return it to the auto parts store because there's something wrong with it and they refuse to do that! the things that they've claimed about the rotten egg smell in my car that I'm breathing on a regular basis is not happening! They claimed that it piped out the muffler supposedly I googled this and it's absolutely not true!! this company is a rip off to women! do not ever take your car there they owe me $850 and I am preparing a lawsuit for much more, due to health issues that have come up breathing all of the exhaust fumes in my car from the catalytic converter!!! they're outright thieves!!!!

Joe told me my vehicle 100% needed a new motor due to a symptom he found in my engine and that the…read morevehicle was worth maybe $1000 if I wanted to sell it without repairing it. I expected and planned to be out of pocket at least $5,000 and was really upset about it. I spent the money for all the parts Joe said I needed and it burnt a pretty big hole in my wallet. I then took it to Chevrolet in Springfield the very next day and they did an inspection of the motor and found the same symptoms as well. They then took my motor apart and told me to look at it with them. The head gaskets, timing chain, head bolts, and valve cover gaskets that Joe told me I needed to replace were 100% fine and needed no reason to repair. All it needed was a new thermostat housing and coolant leak to attend to. I don't believe EMS physically looked at anything in my motor and just gave me a quote for a new motor after finding one symptom that could realistically mean a lot of things that could be wrong. I ended up only paying under $500 for the repairs and the car had zero problems after the repairs and I ended up selling it for much more profit then what I bought it for. I wouldn't have a problem with any of this if Joe just took the time to physically look into the problem instead of just telling me that I needed a new motor after finding one thing wrong and then just stopped looking in to it. I just feel like they tried to cheat me in giving them $3,000 to order a new motor and pay the $2,000 in labor when all I needed was just a thermostat. I won't be taking any of my vehicles to Joe anymore. He's a very friendly man but only did half the job.

I was given a quote from a recommended shop, over the phone, without giving the quote from Aasby's, of parts and labor of "$360.00". I had my car back within a two hour period. I was told by the service mgr. of BBT, that he has many stories of Springfield auto shops charging prices that the dealerships charge and more. I will never go back to Aasby's even though 18 years ago I did go there. They lost my trust.
