After hours of driving whilst moving across the country, our car's transmission went out. When we were finally able to pull our vehicles into their massive parking lot to switch cars, the owner came out to yell at us. Told us we could have done so on the side of the highway, asking us why we had to do it right in front of his business (We were not blocking anything, as the empty lot was indeed, empty) and not to leave any trash. Understanding "Business is Business" aside, wouldn't helping people who are in the middle of an emergency situation benefit said business with more positive engagement? Instead, I have to leave this one star review, as my true feelings on this matter require a zero. Perhaps a better approach in humanity is needed, but is lost here. Based on the number of negative Reviews, I would go to Springfield when shopping for an RV/camper. read more

We were moving across country when our car's transmission stopped working. We pulled into the parking lot so we could figure out what to do, when the owner came out and told us to leave. as if we wanted to be there dealing with this. He said we should use the shoulder, of the highway... which we had been drifting for ten miles. We had to switch which car we were towing and which we were driving, there was no room to do that on the shoulder. It was scorching outside, we were a day from where we departed and we were a day from our destination, but twenty minutes it's too much to spend without spending any money. Not to mention the parking lot is like a football field, and we were the only people there other than him. but "business is business" and that means humanity takes a back seat. I guess by the other reviews on other sites having the exact same experience with this man, this is a pattern of his, and based on how he replies to those reviews he'll call mine bull too, and say his favorite line, business is business. read more

While traveling, our tow vehicle electrical plug disengaged. Of course it bounced around on the interstate and was damaged. We stopped at Happy Trails and their techs were able to splice a new housing and secure it so it would be less likely to come loose in the future. We were on our way within an hour. It was late July when I noticed my rv plug had partially melted. I unplugged it immediately to avoid a fire. I live in my rv full time and there is no way I could have gone without a way to power my AC. I called Happy Trails RV desperate and hoping for a miracle. A miracle I was granted. Despite being backed up with work for weeks, they squeezed me in and fixed me up with a fresh rv plug to ensure I wouldn't be doomed to the same fate as my plug. Thank you! Thank you! We rented an RV for a family vacation this summer, and while we loved the convenience of packing everything in and having a kitchen on our trip, the rental experience left much to be desired. First of all, the second day of our trip we discovered the RV leaked water on the full bed, so after a day of hiking we came back to a soaked bed which made for a very uncomfortable night of sleep. Since it continued to rain almost our entire week-long trip, we ended up covering the bed with a trash bag and putting a bowl under it (It was coming through a light in the ceiling) while we were parked. It also leaked on the bed above the cab, though not quite as severely. However, the night before we took it back to Happy Trails, it had stormed so heavily that the water pooled enough to dump a bucket-worth on my husband's head as we pulled out of the driveway. Thankfully, it was a short drive to the lot, and he only had to drive with a soaked back and seat for an hour. Since we had taken it home the day before to unload it, my daughter wasn't sleeping in the bed she had slept in all week, otherwise she would have awakened soaked and cranky. But, after telling them of the problem they insisted we made it up and that they had done a "raincheck" with no leaks. So, if you do decide to rent from them be prepared for a wet bed and possibly other items getting wet as well. Second, the sewer drain leaked every time we drained it, so we ended up not using the shower and avoiding using the toilet unless it was an emergency not exactly convenient when the point of renting the RV was having the convenience of a bathroom among other things. Third, not quite as big of a deal but one of the tv's didn't work at all. We would have brought our own DVD player, but I asked in an email and on the phone multiple times if the there was a DVD player or a way to play videos while on the road and I was told yes and that there were 2 of them. Apparently I should have specified whether or not they were working. So, if you rent form Happy Trails be aware they may not be forthcoming with accurate information. Unfortunately, after turning in our complaints the response we received left much to be desired. We were offered a discount on our next rental. However, we probably will not use it since it appears they will not be fixing any of the problems on the RV we told them about. They denied there were any problems. Realizing that if we rent from them again there's a high chance of dealing with wet beds, leaky sewage, and whatever else they are not fully honest about, we'll choose another rental service like Outdoorsy or RV Share. The cost was less at Happy Trails, but I suppose we got what we paid for. read more

I can't say enough great things about the staff at Happy Trails RV Center. We didn't know quite what to expect in purchasing our new Motorhome but we were so glad we chose Happy Trails. The entire staff made us fee welcome and answered all our questions. read more

Purchased our very first Pop-up Camper from them in 2011.... didn't know what to expect back them and we walked away with a "Good Deal" in our minds, Of course the Sales staff were polite and nice... I will give them that. That is pretty much where the Quality stalled out at. Repair and Service department is lacking IMHO, before COVID and now... we have used more than once over the years and I cannot say it was the greatest service. Even referred a friend with his 5th wheel and they forgot to install vent covers on it that he had purchased... They told him to come back but, he is going elsewhere. Last year Our Pop-up Roof calking was redone and it looked like a child did it... the old calking was not even removed or cleaned and it of course the bill was not cheap at all. This year we had a pump go out in the cassette toilet. They replaced the pump, called us to pick it up and charged several hundreds of dollars only for me to open the camper up later at home and find out parts were left unhooked, the toilet was not screwed back together and tub seals were not calked and separated from the wood. I didn't want to waste the gas or the time to return it, so I fixed it myself. I will be using another RV service center in the future. read more

Don't do business with these people. I unfortunately bought a new pop up camper from them and upon getting it home found multiple defects. They handed me a signed checkout stating everything worked. When expressing a desire to bring the camper back to get my money back they refused to offer a refund. I then asked if I was going to have to get a lawyer involved and they hung up.
