Nice course. You get good quality for what you pay for. I play this course about 5 times a year and I've always enjoyed it.

One of the cheaper courses in the area. This course has potential and they are investing in making it better. Tee boxes did not have tee markers. Starter was a nice guy but another worker pulled us off the course at 6:45 when it doesn't get dark until 7:45. Pros: Worth what you pay. Wish I could give zero, the marshall's are a bunch of old pricks, the pro shop clerk took forever to check me in and somehow I get yelled at for it. They send people to the back 9 and clog up play just so god forbid their senior women's league can get 9 holes in before it's dark, so yea let's send paying customers to the back knowing they won't be able to finish after paying damn near 40 bucks. The greens are the worst of all this. Fast? Slow? Lip out and roll off the green? All in all some serious staff rebuild inside the clubhouse and out would benefit everyone. read more

Beautiful course that is in marvelous condition considering the deals you get on the green fees. What really impressed me is how nice the fairways looked considering how many leaves have fallen around this time of the year. Nothing ruins a game more than spending 20 minutes looking for a ball under a leaf. The greens themselves were in very good condition as well. As mentioned by Adam, the 9th hole is a 140 yard par 3 with a very high drop. Probably one of the highest tee boxes in the metro (Higher than the par 3 hole @ swope) read more

One star because they are lazy and won't work past 659pm even when it gets dark at 9pm. All golf courses should be open until sunset especially in the summer. Even the range closes at 659pm. I could get in 18 holes from 645pm to 9pm. read more

Always an interesting play, today however I noticed the ladies tees were haphazardly set and not in good condition-on slants and very weedy. I expressed my concern to three team members in the clubhouse and was met with non-interest and excuses. For $45 green fee /cart this was a disappointment for this lady golfer. read more

I played Tomahawk Hills golf course with some friends recently and had a really good time. The course in not the best in the city, but it is very creative and offers something different on every tee box. The 9th and 18th holes are both scenic par 3s that have elevated tee boxes and look out over the driving range and clubhouse. Tomahawk Hills is a fun, challenging course for a decent price. Fill up at the start/turn on beverages and food, because they do not have beverage carts driving around while you are on the course. read more

Very disappointed. Drove from Ottawa KS to play this course. The course was challenging and well taken care of. However too many tee times stacked up on top of each other. Signs in cart said keep a 15 minute pace and we had maybe five minutes before another group was pushing us causing me a beginner golfer to hit more bad shots by feeling rushed. Decided to play the back nine and had the marshal stop us three times on tenth hole after we had let the foursome behind us who'd complained we were too slow play through, only to have two pairs pushing us again. If you aren't a single digit handicap don't attempt to play here. read more

This is not a very easy course and it is VERY hilly level shots are hard to get too but if you are a good golfer you will like this course if you are a beginner though you should learn to play elsewhere. I just finished the 4th hole and it has been an hour and 40 minutes. This is absolutely ridiculous and the course is in below average shape. The Marshall is great, but he isn't pushing anyone to keep pace of play. read more

Was really excited to check this course out when I visited my brother but I was very let down. For having a course that's not well maintained whatsoever, the staff was quite rude and acted like they were doing you a favor by letting you be their. My brother and I are good-looking, clean-cut, well-dressed and well-mannered. Not to mention, we are good golfers. I could understand some rudeness if you weren't presentable, loud, obnoxious, and wreckless on their course but we none of those things and I definitely don't feel like anyone should be treated this way. Let's put it this way, I downloaded yelp today because of how bad these people treated 2 high paying customers. I will never go back and I will never suggest this course to anyone. Lucky for me, the Kansas City area has plenty of options. I hope the staff gets to read these reviews and can work on their people skills. read more

Came out there this past weekend from San Diego to visit a friend. Guess this is the oldest course in Kansas, but not bad condition. The hospitality from Cindy up front was 5 star. Tomahawk Hills is one of the nicest county owned public courses I've played. They maintain it very well, and there are quite a few challenging holes. The staff inside and out are all top notch. The scenery is beautiful. Don't be surprised if you see deer, turkeys, turtles, coyotes, or a fox. Bluebirds are plentiful on the course because they've put up nesting boxes for them. I always look forward to the 9th and 18th holes high atop the hill overlooking the green. Choosing the right club is the tricky part. They've been keeping the place going for over a hundred years, so I'm pretty confident they'll be around long enough for me to get plenty of rounds in. read more

nice course, but very UNFRIENDLY to women. I've never met so many rude men on the course in my life! we were a foursome of women who played 18 holes in a little over 4 hours, so we weren't bad players or slow. However, men kept hitting into us. we let one foursome go ahead and then they slowed down and held us up! the sixsome (realfollowing them kept hitting into us, as well. we finally told a marshall and he said he'd "talk to them", but it was obvious they don't want women playing there. I've been golfing over 20 years, in several states, and never felt so UNwelcome. read more

Very scenic, fairly short, narrow golf course! To me it's a shotmakers course where keeping the ball in play is critical. I am a 1 hdc and walked 9 in a light shower today. One of the staff watched me play a few holes and gave me a ride up this steep hill, very cool staff!! I will definitely be back. Shot 36...2 bogeys 1 bird 6 pars. 18 holes next time, then head to Firekeeper!! read more
