Amazing fun fun fun place ... the only downer was the fact my boyfriend made a reservation over the phone and when he called to confirm they told him there was no reservation because it had to me made online .. so a bit confusing . Also the Tomahawk area doesn't open till 3pm .. But the whole experience with our instructor Natalie was awesome . They also let you BYOB which makes even more turn . Took my boyfriend here to let out some frustrations lol and have fun! It was a little difficult to find cause the sign is small but we found it. Didn't know they also have archery in the same space! Separated by a door. We had an hour to throw axes! Totally awesome. It's $20 per person. We got our own axes to throw and our own lanes. Some staff wore masks. They were having an issue with air conditioning when we went unfortunately so it was sooo hot. But we still had a blast! One staff member seemed like he didn't want to be there but explained how to do it and we eventually got the hang of it. I bought us t-shirts after cause we had fun and would like to return. Next time we will try the archery class! :) And hopefully air conditioning will be working again lol. read more

I bought a Zombie Tools Traumahawk some years ago and finally had the chance to throw! They share the building with the archery place and the space is fabulous. Lots of room, staff is easygoing and informative, targets are a it worn, but what do you expect? My son and I had a serious blast - you gotta try this. Now I know those guys in the movies are just full of it. It will take years to master this thing. Too bad you can't bring one of those the Firefighters use. read more

Save for a small sign on a door of an otherwise abandoned looking building, there is nothing that indicates you will find axe throwing on the second floor. Rest assured, it may be well hidden and in a seemingly random spot in Jersey City Heights, but it's well worth the trip. This was stop #1 for my dad's birthday celebration and it was surprisingly quiet for 12:45pm on a Sunday...in that we were the only ones there for the whole hour we were hurling axes at the wall. Music was loud, instruction was quick, axes were sharp, and in less than five minutes we were doing our best to hit the bullseye. I've gone axe throwing before in CT, and that was much more of a thing than this was. There were tons of lanes. Cages. A bar. A lounge. Instructors everywhere. Here? Axes, wood, and somewhere to sit. BYOB. BYO food. That's really all you need. Post up for an hour or three, bring some drinks and something to eat, and you'll be sure to have a great time. And if you're looking to avoid the crowds...12:45pm on a Sunday is a pretty good bet. read more

Good experience. An hour is more than enough as it can get boring. You get a nice 10 minute training and safety lecture; wood is sprayed with water; helps a lot with getting the ax to land and stick. Once the wood is dry again, it becomes hard to land a throw. Environment is relaxed. They have archery as well on the other side. Parking is street parking. No food offered. Only general beverages. BYOB. Wish the AC was working better, gets a bit warm after throwing a few rounds. read more

Affordable axe throwing with friends. The owner kept spraying the wood with water and I've never seen that before at an axe throwing place. Music was cool. Street parking is tight so carpool if you're going at night. read more

My girlfriend had a birthday and decided to throw it here, and so glad she did! It is located in the Heights, so parking can be a bit tricky here, it is all street parking. We got super lucky and got a spot right in front. It is located on the 2nd floor, in the back of the Archery business. So my girlfriend's husband covered the cost for the event, but I did see there is a Groupon available! We were a group of 10 and we reserved 2 lanes. The instructor was great, very informative and helpful, taught us how to properly throw the axe. Only complaint though was that the place was quite large, and it was busy on a Saturday afternoon and there was only 1 person running it. Overall, it was a super awesome experience, we'll definitely be back. Oh and a bonus, its BYOB! Please bring your own openers though, they didn't have any. read more

At first, I was apprehensive because I was afraid of having a sharp object so close to my head. However, after a few throws that fear quickly went away. I ended up having so much fun! The staff is great and helpful. They gave me tips on how to throw. I also love the theme behind the names of the lanes. It was like a history mini lesson as I threw an axe. The place was better then I expected. The place is fairly new and space was just right. Not a bar setting, just very chill axe throwing, hanging out with friends and family friendly. The highlight was the diff axes and knives you get to throw when you book for 2hrs, and of course the axe master was cool! read more

Came here yesterday for the first time. The place it's self is hidden. You'd may not even realize it's there. At first I thought I had the wrong address but it was cool once I found it. The set up is really comfortable. You get a couch, chairs, and a table. I loved that it was byob which made it a nice lounging experience. There was also an instructor there. I can't remember her name but she was really friendly and patient. However, I found the actual ax throwing to be too difficult to actually enjoy. I must of threw the ax 100x and actually it the target once. Same goes for the rest of my group. It made it more tiresome than anything. read more

I really loved this! Getting in can be confusing. They're on the corner of Sherman and ferry where the archery place is as they share the space. But, once we got in the guy running the place was super accommodating and funny. He was a great guide and the activity was well priced. Dope place, chill atmosphere, and a good time. We went on a Sunday to break up the day and wasn't disappointed. We've done archery next door (shared entrance and connected buildings) so heard about this place through them. You can tell they put thought into the ambience - engraved plaques showing the history of the tomahawks, the lounge seating areas to break up the axe throwing areas, and games setup once you start getting really into throwing. Great helpful staff giving many tips and pointers. It's a good spot to get a group together to have a unique experience. read more

Finally had a chance to go to Tomahawks ! It's a little confusing to get into but they share an entrance with the archery place. Our instructor (i believe his name was Phil) was awesome. He was very helpful. It is byob and was so fun ! Def gonna go again soon ! read more
