Such a fun time! My sister and I took my dad here for Father's Day and I'm surprised it wasn't more crowded. The spade is beautiful decorated in a lumberjack/ forest vibe. First time axe throwing. I will certainly do it again - just not here. As a first timer, I was expecting to feel a bit more secure or safe about wielding an axe but I didn't. The instructor/guide told us how to throw but when asked if she could demonstrate, said that she was unable to do so. She walked away several times during our session so when I had questions about the game or about the axe throwing movement, going looking for her was really annoying. Plenty of other games to play before/after if axe throwing isn't your thing but we opted to leave after our experience. They have food and drinks but we didn't have any. read more

Reservations are definitely recommended. Although I made the res for 4 pm (the time they open) for 4 people and tickets are paid during the booking in advance btw. Unfortunately, 1 person in our group wasn't able to make it. And we were told that since it was last minute, we couldn't get his portion refunded. =( Upon walking in, we were greeted w a warm welcome by the bartender Lawrence. Check-in by scanning the barcode they had in the front by the bar. Which was breeze. Afterward, we were introduced to Miller. Miller was our instructor the entire time. Since this was mine and another girlfriends' first-time axe throwing, he went over the safety instructions and showed us how to handle the axe. We had a few practice throws. Miller made the experience so fun and enjoyable, once our competitive game started. AND - We all managed to hit the bulls-eye! Awesome sauce! The entire game took a little over 1 hr, and we practically had the entire place to ourselves since we decided to come super early. Axe throwing is definitely an upper body workout. My shoulders are sore in a good way. They have tables to play Jenga and checkers. There was also a props section for photo ops. Shared a mushroom and garlic flatbread, which was so delicious. Lawerence went over the rules with us before the start of each game so you know exactly what to do. Kick Axe lives up to its expectations of all out fun. I enjoyed every minute of being here with my friends. We did not have a reservation and did a walk in but they accommodated us within five minutes of being there. It was a very smooth and easy check in process. Apart from the axe throwing area they are a socializing area with various seats and games that can be played. There was bear pong, connect four, hungry hippos, jenga, sorry etc. They give you up to a hour and a half of axe throwing, the instructors are very detailed in explaining what you should do and shouldn't do for your own safety. They do not offer hard liquor as well it's for your own safety, but they do have beers, wines and canned light in alcoholic beverages. There's various finger food options as well although I did not eat anything. The axe throwing was very eventful and we played various axe throwing games to compete against each other. After axe throwing we sat around and played Jenga and connect four. I love the overall open space concept and lounge are they offer even if you aren't there to axe throw. I must say they as well have a great music selection that's played while you're there. Overall I'll rate my experience a 10/10 and will be coming back. read more

Came here for a team building activity and it was the perfect thing. They have a happy hour on the weekdays so take advantage. We got there around 5pm on a Thursday and it was surprisingly empty. We had the whole place to ourselves and loved it. We wanted to try everything on the menu to share but unfortunately, sliders were not available. The Flatbreads specifically the pepperoni was good. I love that the crust is gluten free so we were able to share with someone who had celiac disease. The pretzel bites and wings were good. However I wish the wings had sauce on them instead of a small cup on the side of 8 wings. The chips and guacamole and salsa were ok. Again the portion size of the guac compared to the chips were way too small. The chips were tasty. Salsa , not so much. The Mac and cheese bites were not my thing. Very mushy not crispy at all. Now on to Axe throwing. CHRISTIAN WAS AMAZING! I have been axe throwing quite a few times and he was the best instructor I've had. He made everyone feel comfortable and actually helped us do well. Overall rating: 4.9 I've been here a few times, once on a date when it opened a few years ago and once with a group of friends. It's a great experience if you've never been Axe throwing before. Let's get this out of the way now -- I barely kicked axe but I had an axe-hilarating time! Miller, an Axe employee, got me off to a strong start. Miller was super engaging and friendly. He was also patient because I tell you, connecting the axe to the target took a hot minute. I eventually was nailing those targets with his guidance and instructions. Then it went all downhill and my aim wasn't as sharp. My axe landed mainly on the ground haha but I still had a ton of fun. I would definitely throw axes again. read more

What a fun time! I once had a golf club slip out of my hand and go sailing 50 feet away (no one was hurt, except my ego) so I had reservations about axe throwing. But I'm so glad I did this. It's like darts, except ya know, with sharp, bladed axes. The Kick Axe space was divided into three main areas. Shane, who was the manager, greeted us at the patio and told us that this is the first venue of its kind in the US to get a liquor license, a point not lost to us when we walked in through the front doors, into the bar. The open space in front of it had seating and felt like a mountainside lodge complete with a fake deer's head. There were axe puns on the wall to keep things fun, a performer singing acoustic covers of pop hits, and lots of games (board games, a huge connect four, a giant Jenga etc.) throughout. The back part had the courts, 10 stations with 2 axe lanes each. Mad props to our instructor Leivi who taught several of us noobs how to throw it down. He was really cool and down-to-earth. We practiced both two-handed and one-handed throws and by the end of the evening, most of us had gotten bullseyes. We put our skills to a test and played a game, the first team to reach 60 points wins. Nothing like friendly competition to make things even more fun. You can say I had an axellent time! My 1000th review goes to The BEST time had by all in my group here this past weekend for my eldest sausage's 14th bday! Ray, our axepert was totally chill and super duper patient and encouraging since we had an age group range from 8- 40 something with zero experience with holding and throwing a very sharp object to a large wooden board but after the 2 rounds of getting a feel for it, we all became slightly more than just novices, some of us possibly advanced :) They offer a couple of sizes of axes so the wee little ones aren't subjected to trying to throwing half their body weight overhead. Once you get into a rhythm though it's all gravy and then you start getting daring and start trying to throw one handed, which is totally doable but just not by all lol .. The space is very airy, open and modern with a hint of medieval tied into it. Staff was friendly and tried to be as accommodating as they could be because one of our party people was way younger than the age limit allowed for weekends. You get a free drink when it's your birthday and a group pic put onto their fb page where if you get the most likes, I believe there is a free throw session or another prize involved of that nature... So ask for Ray when you book your reservation! This is totally worth the money! read more

This place was so much fun. We chose this place for our first time trying axe throwing. The place itself has a very cool and hip decor and looks like a cabin in the woods. It is recommended to make reservations on their website just in case. It is $35 per person for a one hour throwing session. There is an instructor who will give you a safety lesson first and then afterwards will go around checking up on everybody. Our instructor was extremely friendly. All the staff here we encountered were very laid back in fact. In terms of the session itself, axe throwing is actually very easy once you get the hang of it. There are games you can play that the instructor will show to you. They have two axe sizes you can try too. There is the regular size and a smaller one that is meant for children but can be used by adults for a different feel. I recommend going on a weekday night when it is not too busy. This place comes highly recommend by me for those looking for a good time. read more

This is such a fun place to hang out and go axe throwing with friends! There is a hangout lounge area to grab drinks and food before or after your axe throwing session. It's a little smaller than I anticipated but the couches are comfy and there were some games. The food is nothing crazy, honestly worse than typical bar food, but hey it's still a fun vibe and you need food for that. Now for the axe throwing. I went with one other person and we were at a range with two other couples (one didn't show up so it should have been 8 but was 6 total). We were told how to throw the axe and after a few practice rounds we got into some games. It was a lot of fun! The instructors rotate around, but the one we had was a little too intense and rude. She was screaming in our faces, and I know it was meant to be a joke and fun, but it was a liiittttllllle too much. Don't tell me I failed cause it clearly didn't stick to the wall, but tell me how I can improve to have it stick. I would have appreciated at least some constructive criticism. Overall, it was a great way to spend an evening hanging out with my friend and we were pros by the time our session ended (we got multiple bullseyes)! read more

The decor is lumbar jack in a good way. They have games that you can play while you waut for your session to start and alot of space to hang out. Our session was $35 for a hour. Our lane help was soo cool, i think his nane was nick but he cracked our axes up...we shared the lane with another couple and he helped it not to feel akward at all. I had a wonderful experience throwing a surprise birthday party at Kick Axe Throwing. There is something both fun and liberating in throwing an axe, and this is a great activity that will surely be memorable for everyone involved. Plus, you'll be ready for the zombie apocalypse! A few things to consider when organizing an event here: -Up to 10 guests per throwing range, at the cost of $300/h per range. Honestly, unless it's just you and a friend, 1h is really short. I would say get a range for 1.5h minimum; 2h is probably ideal. -There are plenty of food options, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. We got pig in a blanket, empanadas (both beef and veggie), mac n cheese bites, and roasted pork sliders, plus a s'mores station for dessert. My favorite dishes were the pork sliders, the beef empanadas, and the mac 'n cheese bites, but really, everything was super-tasty. In retrospect perhaps I over-ordered, and maybe we could have done without the s'mores station. However, the s'mores station is actually a lot of fun, so I would definitely consider it. -You pay 50% when you sign the contract, and 50% 3 days before the reservation. Only at that point your reservation is secured. The amount is non-refundable, but it can be used towards another event if you have to cancel. - A 22% service charge (i.e., tips) is added to the bill, alongside the 8.875% sales tax. - Even though they don't have a full bar, there are plenty of drink options available, such as cocktails in a can, sangria (red and white), and an impressive selection of beers, both on draft and in a can. The organization was impeccable: they set up a table near our throwing range, and the food came out of the kitchen pretty quickly and at regular intervals. We didn't have to do anything about the food. I also appreciated that, once our time was up, we could still mingle around the table, finish our food, and enjoy more drinks. This is a great place for a fun, corporate event, a birthday/anniversary celebration, a holiday celebration, or a reunion. Everyone will have an amazing time. We were paired with a staff member who showed us the proper form and explained safety precautions, and set us up to play games against one another. Once we got the hang of it, our staff member let us play on our own and returned every few minutes to check on us. It was more structured than I anticipated, but in a good way. Surprisingly amazing workout--my core was sore two days after our fun outing of axe throwing. This activity involves a lot of concentration and force (especially for women). You can buy alcohol and enjoy it in the throwing range but I wouldn't recommend it. You won't be able to focus unless completely sober. DJ is playing Modern pop hits to make your experience chill and fun. Tips are encouraged for all staff members. No axe throwing experience necessary--a staff member will assist and train you. I was surprised at how quickly I grasped the technique and improved my aim. Wear comfy shoes, with leveled footing. You can borrow "shoes of shame" if your own aren't appropriately comfortable. You can reserve your time at the range in advance, online. You pay by the hour. There's a timer at every throwing range.
