The staff member we had taught us the basics of axe throwing. She was very skilled and could get multiple bulls eyes in a row . She was so nice and tried to help us the best she could (even with our skill level). We had never tried it before and this place made us want to go again. On week days it's the least busy, but you can usually get a last minute run in as long as it's within their hours. Loved the experience and the staff members are always cracking jokes and adding to the experience!

This was a surprise b-day party for my kids (you blink and now they're on the cusp of driving... I'm afraid the next time I blink they'll be committing me to a nursery home!) and everyone had a blast. (And it's so much more fun when you finally figure out the proper way to throw so the axes actually sink into the wood instead of just bouncing off of the wooden targets.) Our guide/host/ax master - the absolute coolest. She was fun, engaging, informative and would once in a blue swing by to see how we were all doing. The place has that 'artisanal brewery' vibe to it. Kinda open, kinda chilly, a balance between odd/silly (Birds Aren't Real - awesome!) with more 'established' stuff (sports-related memorabilia). Being completely honest: these types of places are always tough to 'grade'... Was it wildly overpriced for what "it" is? Without a doubt. Did my family have a great time? Without a doubt. Would we do it again? Without a... (well, if someone else was going to pay for it the next time around!) Street (metered parking). Free firewood! (We'll definitely come back to partake of this, for sure.) Lots of other 'distractions' available (massive Jenga and Connect-4 sets scattered throughout). BYO (booze and food - which really helps offset the cost to rent a 'lane' here). One of the nicer/larger/cleaner bathrooms I'd ever seen for a place like this. Friendly staff.

Had a fun time here as a night out activity with friends. I love that they are byob and byof. We booked a private lane for 2 hours and it came out to about $40 per person after taxes and fees and a Groupon discount. The staff here was helpful in teaching the first timers how to properly throw the axes. They also have a variety of games you can play as well as an iPad for you to keep score.

This place has all the necessities for throwing an axe at the wall. - varies types of axes - cool "kill shot" challenges - safety fences and floors They also have cute picnic tables so you and your party can enjoy food and drinks after. The instructors were really helpful, and gave great tips towards success. They were also very enthusiastic and made what I thought would be a boring activity very fun!

Came on a Tuesday evening with one other person, and were the only ones there which was awesome! Jay was helping us through the hour and was super helpful! Kept coaching literally the entire time and was great with guiding us. This is honestly the person activity too on a date or as a group. Definitely recommend this activity! When I booked, I was able to do it through Groupon as well and that process was easy, although the BtH website does charge a booking fee (which wasn't an issue).

Honestly, I didn't expect to have as much fun as I did. Bury the Hatchet was all over Groupon so I caved in and bought a package. I had a group of 8 ppl so we were paired with a group of 4 ppl once we got there (you need 12 ppl if you want your own lane). Our instructor was nice and very helpful through the entire night - throwing hatchets isn't as easy as it looks. We ended up having a tournament between our group which made it a little more exciting. The best part is... its BYOB!!! No hard liquor of course and we had food delivered directly to us. The only issue, because of where we were stationed was the lack of table space. There was only one picnic bench for two lanes with a total of 22 ppl but we made it work. In the entry way there's a small waiting area with oversized jenga and connect four. They do have a parking lot but it's pretty small and street parking tough.

I had the opportunity to check out this spot with a friend as part of a Yelp Elite event and it delivered! We did the escape room and Axe Throwing and it was so much fun! I had never done either and throughly enjoyed their well thought out spaces. I'm not sure if service is always the same but it was a little less enthusiastic than I expected but overall the staff was still informative and helpful. Both my friend and I agreed that it was an experience worth returning to.

Nicco was awesome !! Great experience and fun time, convenient with the BYOB and food, just a good time overall. Thank you!

This was so much fun. I will admit I was a little scared at first but the employees were there every step of the way and guided us through the process. They were extremely helpful and gave me pointers and tips and helped me to get it right. The space was fun and airy. I loved the small games they had throughout the place (checkers, tic tac toe, etc) I would definitely come back.

Me and the girls got together for a friend's birthday and wanted to give this a try. I never been so wanted to try it. Our reservations was for 7pm and it was a little over $30 for an hour. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and had to sign a waiver. They then they took us to our area and taught us how to throw. It was only 3 of us so it did get hot and tiring but it was fun. We kept score and I did win lol!

Fun place. Was here as a elite experience. Staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. The only reason for a star being taken off is that there is no parking so you may have to park a town away. Otherwise great place for a party.

Great customer service lots of fun and you can bring your own bottle,Thank you Shamar

For our Holiday work party this year we decided to try Bury the Hatchet. I've wanted to try one of these places for years, but could never generate any interest with the family. We had a Groupon and got a two hour time slot starting at lunchtime. The guy running things showed everyone how to throw both two-handed and one-handed, suggested a couple games then kind of left us to do our thing. There were eight of us who played and it came fairly easy to me, but if the rest of our group had to protect us from a zombie apocalypse humanity would be doomed. They don't serve food or drinks here (you can buy chips or soda) but it IS BYOB and you can have food delivered-we got three pizzas from a place that was very close. There is also a Bottle King nearby, but I think the rest of my group would have worried about killing each other if we were drinking so we didn't partake. Overall, I think everyone had a great time. Some frustrations from some who couldn't get the hatchets to stick, but eventually they got the hang of it. I'd definitely love to do this again with friends and a few beers!

Ask the Community - Bury The Hatchet

    Is it BYOB?

Yes we are BYOB! You can bring beer, wine, and the like (hard seltzer, hard cider etc) just no hard liquor. And you can bring your own food as well or order in to the facility!

    What was parking here like?

Good amount of street parking within a block or so. Residential streets 2 blocks over.

I've been to other axe throwing places that had refrigerators to store the beers and wine we bring in. Are there refrigerators?

Yes, we were there yesterday and had a fridge to ourselves for our beers

Does the place have a bar and food? its comes up in search as a bar, but the website shows nothing about a menu or food/drinks

Only some single serving bags of chips and maybe some granola bars. Nothing big, but there is a bottle king only a walking distance away.

She is not well suited to for dealing with children, especially those who are creative and think outside the box. When the first kid arrived, she literally tried to send the parent away with "I want the parents to be gone so I can establish my authority" meanwhile the kids go to a special school for behavioral issues. After some words, she finally agreed to have the parents stay but in the back, out of line of sight of the kids. Her tone of voice reflected her totalitarian approach. Multiple kids came to talk to their parents about how mean the teacher was. I understand wrangling kids who are neural divergent can be a challenge, but there is a impactful difference between setting appropriate boundaries vs "Rule with an iron fist" smack downs. The parents can hear how she was treating the kids from the back, no wonder why she wanted them to drop and leave. One of our neighbors had a much younger kid, who stayed in the same room with the kids the whole time, told us Rachel yelled "Shut Up" several times at the kids. I regret having exposed these vulnerable children to someone who is clearly discriminatory. Please learn from my mistake, save your kids from Rachel! If you want a good place with much more talented teachers, go to ArteVino in Milburn instead, so much more friendly, and less stingy about materials. I'm not affiliated with them in anyway, other than us having a kids party there 2 years ago, just wish I went there this time also instead; lessons learned!

Basically you will have to specifically aim to the head and hit those sensors to score point. This makes the difficulty more challenging... The games are fun tho. We came here as a big group that took over the whole session. They had multiple types of games: death match, re-spawn, capture the flag, protect the leader, etc. I would say the games are quite interesting. The advise that I would provide would be please dont wear too much clothing as it would get hot over the course of the games. I would suggest to wear tshirt as some running, crouching, jumping, dashing, and physical sport would be involved. I'd say if you have the chance try it out and i can guarantee that you will have some fun : )

The place is located in what looks like an office park of brick buildings. There are signs in the lot for all of the businesses so you will see theirs as you approach their building. Plenty of parking. Please be sure to download the app and create your call sign before arrival. Once you get there, you check in at the counter and then sign in on the tablets. IF YOU DON'T download and create your call sign before you get there, you can do it on site but it can mean a late start for everyone, and your team is not the only team playing if you didn't reserve the space for yourselves. This mean the staff may rush through instructions, you get less time to play, and you're making strangers wait on you. Also, I strongly recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early, as suggested by the business, so you have enough time to fully understand the directions if you've never played before, and also to respect everyone's time. They split our group of 9 friends between the red and blue teams. The husband was on the opposite team and I have to take a moment to point out that though my accuracy was low as was my total kills, I killed him twice There are several items to hide behind and turns to hide you. I think the farther end has the advantage though. They repositioned teams halfway theough. It takes a little time to figure your way around even with the maps on the wall, particularly if you keep dying before you get to the other side. It's dark and you don't leave your home base until the timer says you can, at which point you're trying to shoot the enemy so you may not be as observant of what is in the space or what's next to it or how far from the other side. All adds to the fun. Each game is 6 minutes and the staff fill you in on the next round in between each. This also gives you a few minutes to catch your breath. At some point you will appreciate that. I don't like that there's only one box to reup when you die or that everyone on the team can die if one person is shot in specific instances. I also think they should have vests instead of that head piece. I struggled with aim for a while but I think next time I'll be more comfortable with it. It gets really warm in there so dress comfortably. We were all sweating and I had to wash my face after to cool down. We had so much fun! I am definitely going back.

We did the "Lost in Space" escape room with two people and escaped with about 15 minutes left. The room was nonlinear, which I liked. This means that there are multiple things to do at once so it is less likely for you to have everyone stuck at a bottleneck with one unsolved puzzle. The decor of the room was very nice and they did a good job setting it up to look like the inside of a spaceship. There was no real introduction to the room - the introduction was that we were taken into the room and told not to touch the orange dots. We also actually legitimately escaped the room leaving a whole set of puzzles unsolved. And there was also one point where we solved a puzzle and it gave us a sheet explaining/hinting how to solve a different puzzle that we had already completed. There were also keys that fit into and unlocked multiple keyholes. All of these things add to confusion and should not be possible. We told the puzzlemaster we only wanted three total hints. We only actually asked for one but we were given five, probably because the puzzlemaster noticed how we were confused by these things. So, all in all, room was nice, but could be a little better organized. See the image for the ranking of puzzle difficulty. It's not on their website.
