Bread sticks alone is worth the trip. Local craft beer is a plus especially since the town is your typical 30 pack of high life community. Pizza is average at best. Service is normally decent and courteous, but our main complaint is there is only like 4-5 tables in a cramped space and always have to get lucky to find people leaving or stand and hover over them to finish so we can grab a table. We ordered food and drinks recently and was told we can utilize the party room. It smelled musty and and like a shed. Floor was soft like it was rotted out. While waiting for the only staff member over 21 to bring our craft beers we were told we can't drink in this room. Went back in the main dining area and had to ask for cups for soft drinks since we can't drink our beer unsupervised. They offered to let us sit on a patio area a dusk in a mid 40 degree evening to which we declined. Finally got lucky and saw a group leaving and had to stand by their table for it to be bussed so we could sit. Waitress said she'd bring our beers since we got a table.... they never came. I really want to recommend this place but honestly I can't unless you want to order breadsticks as a carry out! read more

5 Stars for the food. 0 Stars for the service. Met our godchild and his momma for lunch at Tomato Pie for our first visit, we dined in. The older lady behind the counter was completely incompetent in performing her duty. Their menu states that they offer by the slice pizza until 2 pm. We were there before 1 and were told they only had 3 pieces left. After we had ordered, she did finally say that they would make some more and asked what the rest of our group would like. We ordered 2 pieces per person, we went back up to order and pay for some of the fresh pizzas that she agreed to make. Each slice arrived to the table individually with several minutes in between each delivery. One slice that she brought out we didn't order and she insisted that we did, out Godson's 2 slices were stacked on top of one another and gooey cheesy mess. Eventually she did take the incorrect piece back into the kitchen. Before she brought out the last couple of pieces she said that our order wasn't adding up and questioned whether we had paid for the pieces we said we hadn't received. We had to show our receipts before she finally brought them out. Horrendous service. Good pizza. I hope they find an attitude adjustment for their front end staff because their food deserves a better review than I can honestly give after our first visit. It's always worth the drive for the friendly service and outstanding pizza at Tomato Pie! We appreciate the evolving menu as well such as a fairly nice craft beer selection. My only critiques are the discontinuation of table service and a menu that's a bit pricy. It's a small space so ordering next to the main entrance can get crowded quickly. If the prices were lower we'd come more often but between the food quality and staff friendliness it's still satisfying when we do stop by. read more

Great food. We would go once a week until they quit letting us order ahead so it would be ready when we got there. Now that they aren't letting us order ahead it takes 60 to 75 minutes to get your food on a Friday or Saturday night. You have to individually place your orders at the counter while they take phone carry out orders. By doing this you parties orders get interspersed with carry out orders. The first to order in your party get their food in 45 minutes. The second order in your party gets their food in 60 minutes and the third party to order gets their food in 75 minutes. We sadly don't eat there anymore. We now go to Mother Bears on the west side of Bloomington. We would love to go back if they ever fix their ordering system. read more

My husband and I went there tonight for the first time. We loved it! We live in Bloomington, IN and I was looking at restaurants to try when Tomato Pie Pizza popped up. We had some family that ate there a while back and commented about how good it was. We got the Ultimate Pie and breadsticks. It was so worth the drive even in construction traffic on Indiana 37 to try it. We will definitely be back. We have a favorite pizza place about 1/2 a mile from where we live and we love their pizza and breadsticks. Tomato Pie Pizza have them beat! read more

Went with my niece and her friend for lunch while I was visiting from out of state. Was disappointed. Took like over 30 min to get our food, when there was no one else in there before us. I took a pic after we grabbed the pizza, and wish I would before. The pizza is the size of my hand. A small pizza is WAY smaller than a typical small pizza. It's cut in 4 pieces, and I swear it tastes and looks just like a frozen digiorno pizza. We also got 2 stuffed cheese sticks, and I don't see how they consider them stuffed when they are just a breadstick cut in a V with cheese in the middle. Spent almost 25$ for those two things, and some bread sticks. Could have just got frozen stuff from Walmart and would have tasted the same, would have been cheaper, and probably would have been more food. Also, they have signs saying they're short staffed up, and sorry for the inconvenience. I don't see how they are short staffed. There was like 5 people walking around in the kitchen, and standing around talking, but yet still slow service. read more

Worst place I've ever been to.They do not stay open as advertised and the owner is extremely rude and dirty. The price is extremely unreasonable ( doubled in price since the last few years) and way over priced for what they offer.
