Tomball Ford Dealership Save yourself grief from being "nickeled and dimed" to death plus the cat and mouse games of the con artists in finance, go somewhere else. Firstly, I understand the process of buying a car is not always perfect, but this is the worst experience I've ever had. This 2016 Explorer I purchased from Tomball Ford is the 19th car I've owned. I've been in dealerships many times. I'll spare my detailed complaint of the sales person who had a attitude throughout the process and didn't know 4 features the SUV had in it (which we specifically asked if this certain Explorer had during the test drive) I discovered a few days ago the vehicle was equipped with them. I'm mainly writing this as a heads-up for others. After hours of haggling out a sales price and right before finance, there's a "after-market" "rep" that comes to you with paper-work for a "apex" tracking system (I told all of the sales people many different times, for hours, before this rep came to me, I didn't want the Apex system) it was somewhere around $700 I refused to initial anything this after-market guy had for me in his paperwork for a charge for the Apex system and a monthly tracking fee! He got an attitude with me with his tone stating the system pays for itself; he then left and he also denied already being aware that I already said I didn't want it. (My sales-guy was talking to the After-market Rep, right before the Rep came in to get me to sign!) When the salesperson came to me to tell me to go to finance, I had been there for 7 hours. My credit score is in the low 700's. After meeting the finance person, he puts a piece of paper in front of me with options for financing. Column One option for financing was 2.99% with a extended vehicle protection warranty for $525/month. Column Two option for financing was 3.99% without extended warranty for $545/month. The games began... I kept asking over and over, "why I had to buy an extended vehicle protect plan to get 2.99% interest rate" The finance person became completely aggravated with me for not dropping the issue and finally told me, """ I have coupons with the credit union you're financing through and I can CHOSE to use them or not""" So, there it was, out there in the open, he wasn't going to use his "coupon" (lol) for a 1% lower interest rate for me unless I agreed to put the extended warranty for $1600 on the loan. During this time I kept asking for them to take the Apex system off the contract. This is when both, my salesperson (that was in finance office) and the finance person both got heated as they told me "ok we'll take it off but it's going to be a $350 charge to remove it from the car" During haggling over these issues on the contract, the finance guy was slamming his hands about in frustration and upon leaving the finance office no one would help us (me and my wife) We stood in the showroom for 10-15 min, then we were brought the keys and the Explorer was parked just outside the door. The sales person gave my wife the key and that was it... We weren't introduce to anything with the dealership as far as Service Dept or a walkout to the car and not even a kind farewell or a walkout. We both felt extremely unwelcome from being obviously ignored from everyone. So yes, I bought the car, they got me.....they knew my wife really wanted the car and I was backed into a corner. I called two weeks after the purchase and spoke with the finance manager, I told him all of the above, he had nothing to say, except to justify the Apex tracking system removal charge of $350 and the tactics of the finance guy for holding a better interest over my head, that wasn't available to me without buying His Extended Vehicle Warranty. I asked him why the finance person refused to give my a copy of the "finance options column page" he said that was an "internal document and he couldn't give that out." There was no sensitive information on this paper, from me, or the dealership, just payment options and interest rate options. I also asked for a copy of the "lower interest rate Coupon" the finance person gave my Credit Union to get me 2.99% instead of 3.99%, he told me """"I'm not going digging through your file to find it""" So, if you are shown the "column page" with finance options ( which I'm sure is common thing ) ask for a copy of it, lol. This is when the finance guy will start getting pissed. (This is the page that puts the extended warranty in the lower interest rate column. So they won, they got few hundred for the worthless Apex Security Tracking System and a few hundred for the Extended Vehicle Protection Warranty. Seems there's more profit in extended warranties and worthless tracking systems than the Vehicle Looking carefully at all the reviews on Yelp and other sites, I found I'm not the first to go through this with this dealership. read more

Complaint Regarding Poor Service and Mismanagement at Tomball Ford I purchased a used vehicle from Tomball Ford, which turned out to be an extraordinarily unpleasant experience. The vehicle, with low mileage and under two years of use, was misrepresented and handled poorly from the outset. 1. Unprepared Vehicle Upon Pickup: On my first attempt to pick up the vehicle, it had not been detailed as promised, and blacked-out hubcaps, which I did not request, were still installed. I called the following morning to confirm these issues would be resolved before I arrived. Despite this, nothing was addressed: the hubcaps remained, the vehicle was dirty inside and out, and the oil had not been changed. Furthermore, I was informed only one key was available, and I'd need to return on a Tuesday to have another made. Considering the vehicle had been on the lot for over 60 days, these issues were unacceptable. Tomball Ford suggested I take the vehicle as-is and return another day for proper cleaning and hubcap removal. I refused and left the vehicle for another day. 2. Repeat Failures in Vehicle Preparation: On my second visit, the vehicle was still not detailed properly. My specific requests to vacuum out potato chips in the trunk and clean under the hubcaps were ignored. The vehicle's exterior condition worsened, with the trim on the front and rear doors severely scratched, likely from improper cleaning methods. I was assured the trim would be replaced and that the pillar molding on both sides of the windshield would also be replaced. 3. CarPlay Issues and Unfulfilled Promises: On my third attempt to pick up the vehicle, the CarPlay system was nonfunctional. While this was repaired, the promised replacements for the trim and pillar molding were not completed. I was told to return another day. After multiple assurances, I refused to pick up the vehicle until all issues were resolved. Later, I was informed the pillar molding was on backorder or recalled. Upon investigation, we found the parts were readily available. Furthermore, Tomball Ford provided a receipt indicating parts were in stock and charged over $500 for replacements that were not installed. 4. Deal Cancellation and Continued Mismanagement: After repeated failures, I accepted their offer to void the deal. However, this process was also mismanaged. On December 30, 2024, the finance manager, Sherif, assured me I would receive confirmation that the deal was reversed by 10 AM. This never happened. Shockingly, Tomball Ford re-listed the vehicle on Auto Trader while it was still under my name. I reported this multiple times to Auto Trader and the finance company. Additionally, they falsely reported to Sirius Radio that I had sold my personal vehicle, leading to the cancellation of my service. Tomball Ford denies responsibility for this. 5. Lack of Accountability: Despite numerous attempts to escalate the matter, I was unable to speak with General Manager Brent Christensen. On one occasion, a receptionist falsely claimed he was in a meeting when he was on vacation. Follow-ups with other staff, including Sales Manager Servando Diaz and Salesman Mike Zorro, yielded no resolution. Conclusion: Tomball Ford's lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and repeated failure to meet basic obligations have made this the worst car-buying experience I have ever encountered. Warning: Do not buy from this dealer or any associated dealerships... Software Tomball Dodge/Ford uses does not allow most negative reviews to post so I am leaving on any and all related businesses. I own a successful landscape company in the Houston area and buy several new vehicles (trucks) a year. I have purchased many ford's and chevy's over my 25 years in business, but heard on the radio and verified on their website some great prices advertised at Tomball Dodge so I figured why not try a different product for a change. I emailed them first to make sure there was not a misprint on the price or some other trick some dealers use to get people into their dealership (Bait and Switch). They emailed me back stating the price I seen is the price I would pay, BUT here is the catch... The email was not signed and did give a contact name. So I went to the dealer and explained to the salesperson who greeted us... all of the above. He started claiming some of the discounts I do not qualify for and such. I explained that I do qualify for all the bonus and end of year discounts because the only disclaimer to these were you needed to live in Texas. Salesperson was courteous,but after purchasing a number of vehicles over my time in business; I am not at all used to having to argue over an already settled advertised sales price - especially after getting an email as back-up to the advertised price so I promptly walked out. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone and I am writing this review as a warning to people that are not as well versed in buying cars as I am ... to stay away from this dealer and any associated dealerships. If they tried to scam me, then the average buyer has no chance at getting a fair deal here... I experienced almost the same advertised price game playing (Scam) at this companies Ford store a year or so ago so it must be the Management/Owner training the sales staff,ect. on this deceptive trade practice. read more

"I have had a very positive experience with Tomball Ford" I have had a very positive experience with Tomball Ford Sales. I took my 2011 F150 in for service and while waiting, I decided to look around on the lot at the new 2014 & 2015 XLT F150's. Eric Galyean happens to see me and asked if I would be interested in possible trade in. I told him I did not see how I could afford a new vehicle at this time however, he said let's take a test drive and see if the new features and performance would help me with a decision to upgrade. Well, needless to say, I was sold on the idea of an upgrade however; we needed to agree on a reasonable purchase price that would fit my budget. Not only did they offer full trade in value for my 2011XLT F150 but they also added a full new extended warranty on the 2014 XLT F150. I decided to go the next step and talk final price. Everyone from my salesperson Eric Galyean to the finance department Janete Felicia was very helpful! I was not in the mood for any back and for negotiation with finance. I was very pleased with the quality of professionalism and work ethics that was received on the purchase of a new 2014 F150 XLT from Tomball Ford. Having said all that, I told Eric I wanted to also trade in a 2009 Ford Mustang GT and get a new custom built 2015 Mustang for my wife. Eric assisted in generating the factory custom order and the vehicle arrived mid December. Again, I told Eric the deal must meet my wife's requirements for comfort, ease of driving and most of all total cost of deal. We went back and forth with finance a couple times but finally agreed upon a purchase price that also included a full extended warranty. Overall my experience with Sales and Service has met my expectations and I would recommend Tomball Ford. Those employees I have had contact with have always made me feel that I am important to them as a customer. read more

Bought a 2015 Explorer Limited off the showroom floor last weekend and am very satisfied with it. I happened to have rented one on a business trip and really got to see how it worked. I rented it for about 800 miles worth of driving and really put it through a thorough test. I had previously rented a Dodge Durango a month earlier and even though I liked the Durango, I loved the Explorer better. This thing does everything but fly! Since I did my homework outside the dealership, it was only a matter of getting the best price on what I wanted. Word to the wise...IF you want the best deal possible on a new vehicle...you must go on the LAST day of the month...period. Why? Dealerships get paid incentives from the manufacturer on volume versus profit, so they are more than willing to slash the cost to get the vehicle off the lot. The sales rep will make his money on the back end, so don't give in, ask for a low price but be prepared to stay a while and haggle. If you don't want to haggle, then pay a higher cost and be disappointed. Knowing this fact, I was fortunate enough to meet with Greg Hall at Tomball Ford. He was polite and attentive to my questions and concerns. His job is to sell me a vehicle for as much as he can and I am trying to get it down as low as I can. Simple fact of life. Greg was very helpful in explaining features and how they worked and asked me plenty of questions so that I could make an informed decision. When I asked for more money on my trade-in, they worked with me to get the numbers right for me. It's a process. No dealer is going to drop their price $10,000 off sticker unless you work for it. Anything worth having is worth working for. This is my second vehicle from Tomball Ford and I will be back again. read more

**Review for Tomball Ford Dealer Service** I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Tomball Ford's service department. My visit began with a mishap when I scratched my passenger side front fender against a metal swing arm they use for after-hours locking. Despite the obvious flaw in their setup, neither the dealer nor the manager took any responsibility, leaving me to cover the repair costs through my vehicle insurance. Regarding my truck's faulty shock issue, it took an unacceptable three full days just to get a technician to inspect it and a total of ten days to complete the repairs. When I finally got my truck back, it was covered in dust, inside and out. I had dropped it off in immaculate condition, but their dirt roads and lack of care resulted in a filthy vehicle. The least they could have done was to wash it before returning it to me. The disappointments didn't end there. Upon picking up my truck, I discovered that the A/C wasn't cooling at all. When I went back inside to find the service rep, I was told she had left for the day. I spoke with Valentin about the dirty condition of my truck and the non-functional A/C. All he did was apologize and suggest I bring the truck back another day. Since I didn't have a ride back home, he couldn't offer any transportation while they kept my truck for another week to fix the A/C issue. Overall, my experience with Tomball Ford was extremely frustrating. The lack of responsibility, extended repair times, poor condition of the vehicle upon return, and inadequate customer service have ensured that I will not be returning, nor will I recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

There's a reason why Tomball Ford has such low ratings. Their customer service is an absolute joke. I brought my truck in for an issue that Ford is looking at putting a bulletin out about. I explained that I'd already tried resetting it multiple times and that it kept coming back when I turned the truck on. So a few days later when I come pick it up they tell me they reset it so it should be fine. The same way I'd been resetting it. I reminded them that I had already been trying that and he said he was sorry and that he'd misunderstood and that if it came back, to bring it back in. Now I'm being told I'm going to have to wait again. Back of the line. I've been trying for a MONTH for them to make this right. I tried getting on for a rental but they told me I'd have to still have the diagnostics done first to make sure it's warrantied. The truck is new. Still under warranty. I just don't have time to keep messing with this issue I'd already brought it in and waited on. Now they're telling me the light wasn't even on when I brought it in. Funny because it has been there every single day since. Every time I turn the truck on. And why did he say he reset it if there was nothing there to reset? Sounds like a bald faced lie to me. Their incompetence is suddenly my problem? Our service provider, Jason, really had a switch up since I left with it. Shouldn't have left with it. I should've sent it right back to the back and waited there. Found a new Ford dealership willing to make it right. Don't come to this one. Go somewhere else. You'll be a lot happier. read more

My family has always purchased our cars at Tomball Ford, and we never imagined they would handle something as simple as a scratch this poorly. My husband took our vehicle in for an oil change, and while it was there, they scratched it. Instead of owning up to their mistake, the manager has been completely dismissive, ignoring the situation and refusing to take responsibility. Even after multiple attempts to contact him, he won't return our calls or come out to speak with us in person. I've never encountered such blatant disrespect at a dealership. If respect and integrity matter to you (and if you truly care about your car) I strongly suggest going elsewhere, because you won't find any of that here. And don't expect accountability either-if someone scratches your car at this dealership, they'll just blame you for it. Their excuse? Apparently, they "don't have cameras." Yeah, that's totally believable. Had they simply handled this like a responsible dealership and fixed the scratch they caused, this would have been a much easier situation for everyone-including them. But instead, they chose dishonesty and dismissal. I don't tolerate liars, and now I'm willing to spend more than the cost of the repair itself to take this through legal action and hold them accountable. This was my first car buying experience and it was fantastic!! I found the truck I was looking for and traded in my vehicle all within 24 hours. They didn't try to push me into a more expensive vehicle or pressure me into buying the one that I asked about. I drove 3.5 hours and it was well worth the time! Chantel does a great job of communicating in order to direct you to the right vehicle! Very personable and timely feedback. Andres went above and beyond what his job duties were by providing me with a fair interest rate and an excellent trade-in offer. He even went back to check for a second set of keys, which he found and gave to me so I wouldn't have to spend a few hundred more on a spare set. Also, the finance guy Mike sat me down and explained everything from the warranty to the interest and what each one meant. This was extremely helpful because it was my first vehicle purchase. I have been working with Tomball Ford for the past month, trying to obtain a brand new 2017 Ford Fusion. Unfortunatly, it is currently a very difficult vehicle to find, being just opened for orders by dealers. The sales people I was working with (Jana Baker and Buck), worked very hard every day to try to get a trade worked with other dealers around the area (even out to 300 miles away). But, it was not working, as only a few dealers had one in stock, and they were not going to trade for anything but another 2017 Fusion in return. They tried for about a month, to see if ones in transit would arrive at other dealerships, but that too ran into a roadblock due to a factory stop (missed QC issue). Unfortunately, I was not able to make a deal happen within the time frame I needed, but they were very kind to me, and even let me have a vehicle to drive while trying to get this worked out (since I did not currently have one anymore). I will definitely take all my future business to Tomball Ford when looking for new vehicles. read more

I am terrible at making big decisions and pulling the trigger on any purchase over $100. Todd Dorn, their Internet Sales Manager, did a wonderful job introducing me to the vehicle, working around my insanely awkward availability, and dealing with my inability to decide;. He was willing to work with me, without delay, over the phone, through email, via text, and in person without an issue. The sale took over two weeks due to my delays and indecisiveness but Todd kept in touch without be overbearing or pushy. The team handling financing was very accommodating and forthright about terms. I never once had the feeling that I was be pushed in a direction I did not want to go nor did I ever have the feeling I was being pressured to sign prior to my fully understand the terms. Overall the experience was great and, once finances are in order, my wife and I will be heading back to get an Explorer to go along with our 2012 F-150 FX2. read more

Mr Randy Rex came up and asked if he could help and asked my Dad if he wanted to take it for a test drive which we didn't expect at all !!! because we only intended to look and ask a few questions since my Dad lives overseas where they don't even have this kind of BIG trucks. I know for a fact that this made my Dad's day!!!!!!, and that this amazing act of going over and above to let him actually drive it with no intention to buy, is so special !!! one of the things he is now able to cross of his BUCKET list..all because of excellent customer service. My lighting wouldn't charge. They found the issue and rodents ate the charging components. I am in the process of traveling out of state and paying for my father's funeral. I am low on funds with all the expenses. They said I can use BDS. Which is 315 dollar fee. I asked for photos and the old parts as I am doing an insurance claim. My insurance company went there and then agreed on a lower price than what was quoted me. Jason told me all that will be owed is the deductible. I just want to pay that at this time and avoid using BDS. I can't pick up my car until next week. I do not want to sign paperwork saying I agreed to pay the higher price. Ashlynn working the service desk was the most condescending, rude person that I have ever spoke to and didn't try to assist. Spoke over me several times made this experience horrible. I don't have any fight in me as I am still dealing with my father's death. read more

I have been going to Tomball Ford for over 15 years and I've always had excellent service. From the actual buying experience from Tim Fowler (six vehicles and counting) to the service from Mitzi and her crew; namely Rusty and Wendy. Just recently I had some body work done by the collision service and Candy Fraser did a great job in making sure everything was taken care by an uncooperative insurance company. She went the extra mile and always kept me updated. The bodywork isn't finished yet but I know it's going to be good work since I've had several experiences there over the last 15 years (teenage drivers). I don't do these kind of ratings as a habit but I recognize how hard the people at Tomball Ford have worked to take care of me and want to give them a shout out For a job well done! read more

PLEASE!! Listen to the other reviews. This place is a Nightmare! They drained my A/C and the Service Manager Rick Boen called me a "liar that just wants something for free". NO Rick I just want my truck the way it was before it entered TOMBALL FORD! If I could select Negative-Stars for this black mark on the Ford name I would. I have called and called to fix the issue and they honestly have blocked my phone number. The GM Brent Christiansen doesn't even have the decency to return a e-mail. That's all you need to know. Now Please Run Away! Save yourself from this Infuriating nightmare!!! P.S. The Oil Changes are scams the say $39.99 but you never leave without that hidden $10.00 service fee. $49.99 if your lucky.
