I was informed that the Tombstone Motel used to be a stable or livery or something like that. One part of the building is older than the rest. Several locals recommended it as the place to stay. There is a Holiday Inn Express and Best Western (?) nearby but they charge $100+ compared to the $49 that we paid (ask for a AAA discount) and they are on the outskirt of town. The room itself was a little scary. Not because of the ghosts (which I was hoping for), but because it wasn't the most clean of places. The rug hadn't been shampooed in like 20 years and had that hard bristly feel to it. I looked carefully under the mattress for bedbugs and didn't see any, but my instincts told me that sleeping in the bed was questionable - so I slept on top of the covers. My mom told me that her sheets didn't seem freshly washed - most hotel sheets have that crisp bleach scent to them. The posters in the room were glued directly to the wall. The bathroom was a bit is disrepair. The toilet lid fell off and the shower area made me wish I brought shower shoes. While my mom didn't think it was funny, I thought it was interesting that the wall clock in the room only had a minute and second hand (no hour) - but then again, I'm easily amused. The room was inexpensive which I liked and although we didn't have a window in the room, the view from the driveway was spectacular - looking out onto a wide plain with a mountain at the end (where Geronimo had hid out). The people in the check in office were nice and helpful. They have Morgan's Pizza on site (which also serves breakfast), but we didn't try it. If it was so bad, will I stay there again? Actually yes and I'll bring friends. I wanted a ghosty place and ghosty stuff happened.

I arrived at Tucson International and my driver (Ted) was right at the baggage claim with a sign with my name on it. He was very nice! Looked normal and not like he was going to murder me. He loaded my bag on the cart and loaded it in the van. I was the only passanger which should have been awkward but Ted was great. He knew tons about the areas and filled me in on local history, things to do, and told me about some great places. He was exceptional even going out of his way to show me some stuff around town! It was a pleasant trip all around. Will def be reccomending them again ans using them next time I'm in town. **One thing to know is that they only accept check/cash**
