The space was big clean and aesthetic! The service was good and the server was attentive. We had a group of 12 people so it was a big group. I ordered this seafood dish that had lobster, small scallops and shrimp with this type of fried rice. It was really good! On the spicier side but very flavorful! For dessert we had crème brûlée which was served in a pineapple. Pretty good!

Unbelievably good key lime pie which I highly recommend.

Our last night in the Big island. Tomorrow we fly to Kaui. Sweet! Tommy Bahama Restaurant is in the Mauna Lani Resort. We wanted to sit outside in the patio but the sun was blinding. No problem. We were given a nice booth inside. We didn't want to order an entree because we didn't want any leftovers. I ordered the spaghetti squash which came with two half slices of toasted bread. Very good. My husband ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer. Delicious. The tortilla soup was also good. We were given a free dessert, key lime pie which was my choice, that was awesome good. Service was over the top excellent. Great dinner to celebrate our 46 years anniversary. .

This place turned out to be the perfect spot for a relaxed evening. The views alone make it worth visiting--watching the sunset from here was absolutely beautiful, with the sky changing colors as the night settled in. The live music added to the atmosphere without being overwhelming, creating a laid-back, enjoyable vibe that made it easy to linger. The food was well prepared and tasty. The menu had a good variety, and what we ordered came out exactly as ordered. Overall, it's a great place to unwind, enjoy good food, and take in a sunset while listening to live music. The waitress was nice and relatable. Perfect for a casual night out, a date, or just somewhere to sit back and enjoy the moment.

From the moment you walk into Tommy Bahama at Mauna Lani you can tell this place is special. The ambiance perfectly blends laid-back island vibes with upscale comfort -- casual yet classy, with warm lighting and a gorgeous patio that's just made for sunset drinks. The service was outstanding -- attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole meal feel relaxed and effortless. Food & Drinks: Everything we ordered was delicious, but the standout for me was the Lump Blue Crab & Avocado Salad -- a fresh and beautifully balanced dish with shredded romaine, creamy avocado, juicy tomatoes, tangy feta, red onions, and a bright lime-caper vinaigrette that tied it all together perfectly. The drinks at the bar were just as impressive -- refreshing, creative, and perfect for sipping while you take in the views and island breeze. Overall - Whether you're grabbing a leisurely lunch, an early dinner, or drinks with friends, this spot delivers on every level. Amazing food, great cocktails, a relaxed but refined atmosphere, and service that makes you feel right at home. Definitely one of our must-visit stops every time we're in Hawaii!

I am shook by the incredible customer service at this restaurant! It came highly recommended from one of our sunset sailboat excursions -- we asked for a place with great food, a beautiful view, and the perfect vibe to celebrate a birthday, and this spot delivered everything. From start to finish, the experience was amazing. The staff was so attentive and friendly. We started with the crab cakes (a recommendation from our server) -- they were so good, we ordered a second round! For our entrées, we went with a couple of their suggestions, and they absolutely nailed it based on what we said we liked. Since it was a birthday celebration, we ordered espresso martinis -- honestly, maybe the best I've ever had. So smooth, perfectly balanced, and dangerously delicious. We were sitting on the patio with a stunning sunset view, and it was so romantic. To top it all off, they brought out a little piece of cheesecake for the birthday, which was the sweetest touch. It was truly a magical evening. I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're celebrating something special -- or honestly, even if you just want a consistently delicious meal with great service and a gorgeous view. It's definitely more of a date-night spot, but I did see families there too. It's Hawaii -- casual, classy, and total vacation vibes.

Pineapple crème brûlée One there and one to go. This is like my coffee, absolutely no sharing.

Twice a year, I treat myself to my favorite crème brûlée. I typically have a small meal so I can enjoy an entire serving of their pineapple creme brûlée. Normally, I'd split it with my husband and son but not this one!

Good company, good service, and consistently good food in a comfortable, welcoming, indoor-outdoor setting. Who could ask for more?

This place always hits the mark. I am never let down. The bisque soup?! Fuggetaboutit it. The food is always on par. The cocktails are well crafted. The servers are always on top of things This is regular "date night" for the family who lives in the village. Jason, the manager- super friendly. Makes you feel at home. James, the chef- super thoughtful about his menu. He greeted the table to make sure we were all happy. Both are stellar employees. That coconut shrimp... it's everything they say it is! This is a great spot!

Food amazing, tasty! Drinks were the best in the whole island. Best mai tais - frozen mai tai you have to try! Service fast and friendly, inside restaurant was calm, not loud, good to talk. Higher recommended- we were here 3 times in a week! Great happy hours deals.

This restaurant was recommended and it didn't disappoint. From the amazing service to the high quality food, you cant go wrong here. It's more on the pricier side but if you want a great experience and amazing food and drinks, you should check this place out. They are on OpenTable also. Shout out to Tina. She was a great server!! The photos don't do this place justice in how yummy the food was.

Can you eat outside with your smaller dogs?

I believe they allow that for lunch but not dinner.

Any vegetarian options other than the shareables?

There are no vegetarian entrees. There are salads and several vegetarian appetizers.

    How much is Corkage fee?

Aloha, our corkage fee is $20, and cannot be a wine we carry on our menu. You can view our current menu on our website. We hope to see you soon.

Do they have a happy hour?

YES! And it is a great one! Start there and finish down the mall at With Chris' happy hour!

Do they have a kids menu?

I believe they do. We brought the grandkids there for New Year's and it was great.

Anyone know what's on the children's menu and how did your kids like it? It's fine if I like the food, but it's a MUCH more enjoyable meal if all the kids are happy (and quiet!) too!! :)

Hi we went last night. They have kheiki (kids) pasta with cheese sauce and or marinara. They also tenderloin steak medallions, hamburger, pizza, mini sliders... great menu for kids and adults

Valet is free if you're dining at their resort, just let them know. We checked in about an hour before sunset and were seated at a table along the edge with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The sun was a bit glaring initially but as it began to set the trees to the west provided shade. The table bread loaf was served with black sea salt sprinkled whipped butter. The old fashioned I had was very well-made! For appetizers, we went with their fried Brussels sprouts and island tomato soup. The generous portion of sprouts were prepared with fennel, white balsamic, and li hing powder. I wish I had a grilled cheese sandwich to go with the delicious tomato soup! For the mains, the seared wild caught Hawaiian ahi was excellent! I ordered this the last time I dined here too. The ahi was cubed and seared medium rare. It was served with baby bok choy and a side of ube puree. The Cedar Creek prime ribeye was a big slab of beef! Although the steak was quite flavorful, for "prime" I expected the fat to be a bit more marbled. Instead we were cutting out big chunks of fat. For the last main we decided on the kabocha ravioli which came with 6 pieces. The sauce was amazing! I'm always a fan of mashed potatoes when I see it offered as a side. They call it called "potato puree" here. This complemented the sauces in our mains perfectly! The one disappointment was the creamed corn. The kernels were tough and the flavor was off. For dessert, the Manta chocolate souffle was excellent!! It was served with a side of Kona coffee ice cream. The service was attentive, friendly, and welcoming! Will definitely be back the next time we visit the Big Island!

The restaurant is located inside the Mauna Kea Resort and just above the beautiful Mauna Kea Beach. They have a nearby location where you can see Manta Rays at night. The service is always very good at this restaurant and the food is amazing. During my last trip I got many fish dishes in Hawaii and they didn't exactly impress me so this trip I am going for other proteins. I got the bone in New York Strip and my wife got the dried aged pork chop. Our server recommended the pork chop to be cook medium and I already knew it'll be pretty good. My ribeye was very good. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare and it comes with a side of purple sweet mashed potato. However, my wife's pork chop was the most impressive dish. It was tender, sweet, and savory. I had some of her pork chop and I wish I ordered one too. I stripped that pork chop bone clean. The dessert was pretty good but I do wish there were other options. We ordered the Soufflé and the Chocolate Mille-Feuille. The Soufflé was very good but the Chocolate Mille-Feuille was just ok. Our server did recommended us to get the Bombe Alaska but I already tried it during my last trip. After dinner we all went to the cliff to watch the Manta Rays. The kids especially enjoyed this activity. I am not sure when I'll return to the Big Island but if I do, I'll probably be visiting Manta again.

We were only $20 short of reaching the $300 spending requirement for the free gifts, which should speak to how frequently we visited and how much money we spent at this store. Despite being repeat customers, every visit was met with the same poor customer service. All of the cashiers who helped us were rude, curt, and could not even acknowledge the smallest greetings. The customer service was so unpleasant that it was not worth the experience. The food is not amazing, the prices are not great, and the only thing this place has is convenience--nothing more to offer. In one instance, I got a burger and a black milk tea with boba. I specifically told the cashier that I wanted boba, but she did not ring it up. When I inquired about the missing boba, a young employee addressed the matter with the cashier. They talked, and I said that if it cost more, I could pay for it. She rang up the boba with zero acknowledgment of her mistake. Nothing came out of her mouth. Complete silence. In another instance, I asked a cashier what the gifts were if we reached $300 in purchases. She did not say a word. She simply reached for a card with images of the gifts and placed it on the opposite side of where I was standing. She said nothing. I asked if those were the gifts, and she said yes. She then pulled out her phone while I looked at the card, and I simply said, "Okay, thank you." These are just a few examples of the many disturbing encounters we had with all of the cashiers. While on vacation in a tourist area, this is not the type of conduct or customer service one expects to experience. It was disturbing, and we dreaded going there despite the convenience.

Same would be corn tortillas, tomato based salsa, delicious gaucamole. Chips and salsa are not complimentary, listed as an appetizer. We ordered gaucamole which was a scoop plopped down on top of the chips, which was a bit messy, would have preferred it to be in a separate bowl to allow dipping rather than digging chips out from under the gaucamole. Differing would be chili verde is with tomatillos, refried beans are mostly whole and only partially pureed, and not cooked in ham or lard - all the seasoning is very mild. The tomatillo salsa has some heat, but that's about it. My wife had the poblano pepper, corn tortilla tacos. Nicely served (3) upright in side-by-side slots, but it was just chicken, a couple slices of poblano, some melted cheese over the top, no other veggies. Very bland, meat-heavy tacos. I had chicken fajitas, on the menu listed as 'non-sizzling', meaning the meat and peppers cooked on a flat top or skillet and plated. They were good, very lightly seasoned the small warm corn tortillas were delicous. The rice had the usual reddish color but no other spices that we could tell - very bland - as were the beans as per above. For dessert my wife had a sweet tamale...yes, I know...she liked it but I didn't care for it. Corn flavor came through, but sweet - maybe worth a try for more than one to sample. I had the flan which was pretty solid and topped with carmel sauce. Different, but a good difference. It is located upstairs (elevator or stairs) above a bar in a pedestrian shopping center, so you no one would stumble upon it by accident. Great staff, very helpful, willing to adjust to requests, small bar with about 10-12 tables. As long as you go without expecting 'the same I'm used to back home', and open to variations on the familiar, you'll enjoy at least parts of your meal...I'd go back, my wife said it was some of the worst Mexican food she's ever had. Low-veggie presence, mild seasoning, but focus on the friends you're with and the fact you are on the big Island!

The kids ordered chicken tenders and fries and said they were good. My husband ordered an ono sandwich, which he thought was fine, and I ordered the kalbi plate. The kalbi was probably the highlight of the meal--the portion was very generous and there was plenty of meat. The macaroni salad though, could definitely use some improvement. The macaroni salad wasn't very good, and both the rice and macaroni salad portions were about the size of a small ice cream scoop. For a plate like this, I definitely think they could be more generous with the rice. Our server was nice, but not very attentive, so the service was just okay. Overall, the atmosphere and live music were enjoyable, but the food and service were pretty average. I'd give it about 3 stars.

Had s fabulous time here . A bit on the pricier side compared to other restaurants in the area but…read moresuch a good meal with unique flavors and a beautiful view . The Tahitian crudo was great, shrimp ceviche was my favorite- I wish it was a bigger portion but it's very light , refreshing, citrusy, and came with casava chips . Definitely would get the ceviche double New York strip was cooked great, we asked for medium rare but came out more on the medium side, still a spectrum lol, still super yummy . The duck fat potatoes are great and the broccolini was my favorite side . Chocolate decadence was a super heavy thick cake and wasn't too sweet, just super chocolatey as you'd expect. Definitely recommend coming here if you can't find a nice spot out in Waikoloa

I was too busy getting photos of the view and eating. But luckily, the view is incredible. We had a really great time here. I went with the NY Strip and my wife had the scallops. Both were incredible and the steak was not only cooked perfectly but had a good seasoning to it. It was great! The area around the restaurant is great too. The resort has so many things to do/see. We were able to park and walk around before dinner reservation. Since we didn't stay at the Hilton, we didn't venture too much but they had a dolphin experience there that we wanted to take note of for next time we visit. This was such a cool experience and we would definitely come back again.

Had the chance to experience the Kahuwai Cookhouse, located in the Kona Village Resort on the Big…read moreIsland. the venue is about 7 miles north of Kailua-Kona on the way to Waimea. If you have the chance, you should check out this venue if you are looking for a memorable experience. Led by chef Junior Ulep, the restaurant is run with precision on all levels. Chef Junior is from Haliewa from Oahu's North Shore with experience at at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, CanoeHouse at Mauna Lani and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel all on Hawaii Island. He took the time to explain his process and his passion which is evident in all aspects of our experience. We decided to order the dishes family style and they were great at accommodating the splitting and plating of the dishes and firing them in perfect sequence. We started with the Ahi Poke Loaded Nachos consisting of Taro chips, scallions, furikake, Maui onion, chili oil, unagi sauce. Next was the off menu surprise from the chef of a curry based shrimp cooked over Kiawe wood. Not sure of the exact ingredients, but the presentation was amazing. Then the Broke da Mouth Asian Slaw Salad. Ramen noodles, Napa cabbage, avocado, carrots, red bell peppers, Kahiko Māla`ai herbs, macadamia nuts, wontons, sesame-yuzu vinaigrette After that we had the Carnitas Tacos. Kalua pork, corn tortillas, Pico de Gallo, avocado, ancho chili salsas, pickled onions And Finally the Get Shorty Sandwich. So delicious. 12 hr Smoked short ribs, horseradish aioli, aged cheddar cheese, pickled red onion Chef Junior really went out of his way to make our experience special, and to let us know of his vision for the venue and the future. We can't wait to be back and see how this evolves.

This was hands down the best dinner experience we've had on our trip. We are on day 5 of 7. Their…read moreservice was excellent; they touched the tables just right, gave us the option of still water or sparkling water, they provided the best focaccia bread with flakey salt and olive oil. We sat right by the kitchen and were able to watch them make our dinner. The chef came out and personally spoke to us about our dinner. I got the vegetarian cauliflower dish the adobo sauce was hands down one of the best sauces I've ever had, my husband got the burger medium rare and he said it was perfect and the fries were crispy, my daughter got the kids slider and thought they were delicious (easy could of fed two kiddos with a smaller appetite), my other daughter had the butter noodles which is on the menu but she's super picky and they accommodated her without a blink, for our youngest we got a side of fruit it was amazing fresh fruit with a good variety. At the end another chef came by and asked if our girls would enjoy dessert, we got the mango and coconut lime sorbet. They were so luscious , creamy, and full of flavor. We sat "inside" it was an open concept with no doors or window to the restaurant. The kitchen had screens to keep the bugs out. There was gentle music playing in the background. Most places we've been the music has been so loud we can't hear each other or think. It was right on the ocean so we got to listen to the ocean waves and watch them crash on the shore. If I could give them more stars I would.
