Arrived for happy hour during my stay in the Coachella Valley. I was taken back how busy they were since most of the snowbirds had departed in May. Parking is complimentary and there's a complimentary level 2 Tesla chargers available on a first come basis. We started off with coconut shrimp, blackened Mahi Mahi tacos and Stone Ipa beer. We tried an order of cioppino which contained halibut, scallops, shrimp, and mussels. The stew was yummy and went well with the toasted sourdough bread. We ended up finishing with the Pina Colada cake which was solid. Service was prompt and friendly from our waiter considering it was busy and included a large bachelorette party. Stopped by Tommy Bahama and had an amazing experience. The coconut shrimp was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, and paired with the sauce it was absolutely delicious. The sea bass was another highlight. Cooked just right, flaky and fresh, with seasoning that really enhanced the natural flavor of the fish. Every bite was enjoyable and left me wanting more. I love Tommy Bahama because the food is always SO flavorful and amazing! This time was no different, food was incredible and the pina colada cake was to die for. The only thing keeping me from a 5 star review is the service. Unfortunately it was very bad the night we went. The server wasn't very friendly, didn't ask us if we wanted drinks, took a long to to refill our waters, the wrong food came to the table, and one of our dishes was late because she had forgotten to put it in. Also the food took close to 40 minutes to come to the table. To top it off, when we were leaving she just came and grabbed the receipt. No "thank you for coming or have a good night". Always can rely upon Tommy Bahama to feed us well. Unfortunately the table we sat at, the bench seat was off by an inch or 2 which created a bit of a rocky experience but we made it through. Chelian Seabass was a bit salty. Recommend less sauce or sauce on the side so that you can season to taste. also recommend ordering it medium to medium rare. The table loved the filet mignon, fish tacos and crab cakes. I would recommend substituting any tequila for a Mezcal. We ordered all the desserts from mild to richest-pineapple crème brûlée, coconut cake, chocolate pie, Keylime pie. All portioned to take home whatever you don't eat. *Tommy Bahama Come on Pretty Mama* I have reviewed TB on El Paseo at their main Yelp page. But when I noticed they have a 2nd listing with much less activity, I figured I'd chime here too, for a family birthday dinner shared by me & my wife. Can't really go wrong with this TB location. The food is always outstanding and consistent, and their service is usually top-notch with a cherry-on-top. My favorite thing here is their full rack of grilled babyback ribs. Some of the best anywhere. Soft & tender and fall off the bone. The ribs are seasoned with a Jamaican jerk rub, rounded off with one-of-a-kind blackberry brandy BBQ sauce. Trust me, it works and tastes just as good the day after -- which is why you must order a full rack for only $9 more than a 1/2. I enjoy their mojitos, when someone bartending knows what they're doing. Mojitos is an art-form, and most places don't serve them because of not having the proper ingredients (such as fresh mint leaves) I love their Malted Chocolate Pie/Cake/Torte (whateva ya wanna call it) for dessert. This decedent tasty treat is just as great the next day too. All the above is Captain Fantastico, and one of my favorite meals when I choose to stir away from my clean healthy eating lifestyle. Went for dinner with friends and we all absolutely loved our food and drinks. It started off on not a great note as we put our name down and they said it'd be a 30 minute wait, only to learn they typed our number wrong and we almost missed getting a table before it closed as they never contacted us. However once we let them know we had been waiting they seated us and we had the kindest and funny female server. We started with drinks, where she recommended a coconut martini that was one of the best I've ever had. We also got the lobster spring rolls which were delicious and wish there was more of them. We also got a burger and fries which was cooked perfectly and the fries were so good and perfectly cooked as well. We had a great time and really loved the restaurant. Came here for lunch with my mom on a Monday. We got seated outside and the weather was perfect. Service was quick and they got us the food out right on time. Felt like we hardly waited. I got the coffee crusted steak which was very juicy and flavorful. The broccoli that comes with it is now my new favorite way to eat broccoli. It was charred just a bit and had a garlic lemon sauce. Delicious!! Mom got a special that was going on that day. Chicken with veggies, and it just needed a touch of salt and pepper but presentation was beautiful and taste was great. I stopped in here randomly on my way through town back home from San Diego because I was randomly craving some fish tacos and I had once been here to the location Las Vegas and I wanted to see if the consistency was spot on and I'm telling you they do not miss a beat. Previously I would have given it 4 stars based on the taste of the food, but our most recent trip was lackluster. Everything we ordered was bland. It seems like they changed chefs since our last visit. The coconut shrimp used to have so much flavor and now had no seasoning. The sea bass used to have a Latin taste to it, but now tasted more like creole seasoning. Even the chocolate mud pie wasn't as amazing as it previously had been. On a girls trip and made a point to visit the restaurant for happy hour. Because they have a rooftop and coconut shrimp. BUT you can only do happy hour INSIDE at the bar. No exceptions. Of course in Palm Springs you want to sit outside. So we did. And we paid full price vs the HH pricing. I wish they would empower their people to extend the HH deal to the patio. We had coconut shrimp, scallop sliders, and tasty cocktails. Food was great and the service was great. Just really stuck on the HH thing and we probably won't go back because of that. We sat at the bar, arriving around 12:30. There were plenty of bar seats available, but the outdoor dining area was full. Within 30 minutes the bar was full also. Mikey, our bartender, was fantastic. Pleasant, friendly and attentive. The Cuban sandwich was excellent. We ordered one to split, and they did the split in the kitchen, and delivered our sandwiches and fries on 2 plates. Classy. The meat was tender and flavorful. The NA wine, Giesen Sauvignon Blanc, was quite good and reasonable at $10. Even from the bar, the view of the mountain is spectacular. read more

Waited a bit to order drinks... no biggie. Waited 30 minutes before ordering food. Seasonal appetizer, ran out. Okkk. Not off to a great start so far. Order steak, salad, fish and burgers. Normal menu items. People at tables to each side of us, sit AFTER US and order AFTER US. 8:30 no food. It's coming right out they say. Other tables get their food. 8:50 no food. 9:00 no food. They close at 9. Ask for manager or someone 3 times. No one ever came. Went to front desk to ask what is happening. I offered to pay for drinks and speak to manager... 5 people huddled around trying to make a decision. They just said we could leave and not pay for drinks and the one shrimp appetizer my kids ate. That was a first. Not being offered any other food. Appetizers. Nothing. Just leave after 1:45 minutes hanging out at our table. Happy birthday to my wife. Is customer service still a thing? Apparently not . We made the best of it, and drove to a nearby Ice cream store. Ice cream for dinner with the wife and kids. When we returned THREE MINUTES later, we approached the front desk to inquire about it, and the hostess said "We threw it out." I asked, "Are you absolutely sure?" She said, without apology, "Yes, I helped clean the table." You'd think they would've saved it for 5 minutes. My daughter (who has autism) was crushed, and as we turned to leave, another hostess handed us a card that she said was "good for a future appetizer."
