Just had my nails done by Tina. Not friendly. I was told to sit down when I got there, so I did. Then she more or less scolded me for not picking a color upon my arrival when I was never offered a pallet and was told to go sit when I walked in. She was using hand signals instead of speaking, which I did not understand, so she seemed annoyed. She told me to go wash hands and when I came back somebody was in my seat. I had to ask if I was done. I've never had my nails done here and probably won't again because of her. Everybody else seemed nice there. I had my phone on and picture in front of her the entire time. She didn't even paint nails like the picture and polish is green instead of grey. I was over it and just said yeah fine. I will not let her do my nails again. read more

I went to get my nails done because I've heard great things. I get in there and the woman, Bella, absolute sweetheart I loved her so much and she was amazing. I went to a different person to do the design and she was kind of in a bad mood already. She did my nails basically halfway and then I went and paid and left. I called them a little bit later and explained that I didn't like the nails but I felt bad and didn't want to say anything and he said well I can't do anything because you didn't tell them. You should've said something and that if you wanted them fixed you need to come in tomorrow and pay for them to be fixed. I'm never coming back because he talked so rude to me and to pay to have my nails fixed after they were half assed by your staff is actually insane. Came in for a pedicure and was shown the menu. I asked for the luxury because it's been a bit. The menu states that there is callus removal as well as paraffin. I do not recommend to go to Tommy Nails I have been getting pedicures for over 10 years now with no problems I started going to Tommy Nails and on my second visit I went in to get a pedicure at that time I noticed the lady only had the equipment in little blue solution it was not sanitize after my pedicure within one week I developed an infection in my big toe I had to go to a clinic for antibiotics within a week later I had to have my nail removed to get the infection out of my toe after reporting this to Tommy Nails they was nothing done about it I do not recommend going to this place it is not sanitized. read more

I love Tommy Nails. I've been going for about 7-8 years and I've never had a bad nail job. I get Nexgen on my nails and it stays on until you take it off! You can even paint over it if you want. My only complaint would be having to wait even after making an appointment - but I keep going back anyway because it's worth the wait. read more

My daughter wanted tips put on and and I wanted a pedicure. No designs. We walked in at 10:55, and we're not seen for over an hour. We then asked how much longer of a wait and told there were 2 people ahead of us. After another 45 minutes of waiting we asked again and we're told there was still someone ahead of us. After over three and a half hours we finally walked out with our manicure and pedicure. If you want to get your nails done here be prepared to wait for hours and pack snacks to munch on! I went with a friend to get gels before my sister's wedding. We both felt it was a giant waste of time and money. The person who did our nails did not actually do the manicure portion and just put on the gels. When we asked if she was going to do the manicure portion she just responded, "Oh did you want that?" We just said no it's fine (she had already started the polish). We felt that she was in a hurry and/or did not want to be at work that day. I don't know how this place is so busy. I walked in and asked for a pedicure and IF they had time a manicure. I specifically said don't remove my polish if you don't have time. I only had 1.5 hours before work and was more than understanding if they couldn't get to both. The pedicure was sub par. No scrub or lotion and I had paint all over my toes and she left skin on the sides. They then had me soak my gel in a bowl for 45 min and no one came over. I told them I had to go and if someone could just scrape off the gel and the sticky goo off. I was told "we have no one, you'll have to come back" so I left with terrible toes and sticky gel coming off my nails. Which was the worst trying to put on gloves at work. I go in person every 2-3 weeks to get my nails done, the pricing is always reasonable. The people that work there are amazing, they talk to you and don't make you sit in werid silence. As for Tommy himself, he is one of the most kind people I have met. Even if the shop is full and he is super busy, he never makes you feel rushed and will take time and talk to you. terrible experience. I paid $63 dollars for a pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure massage was literally 20 seconds each leg, no more and that is what i enjoy most about pedicures. The gel polish has lasted a long time and was not the main issue however while doing the gel, she let dirt specks fall on the wet paint and dry under the layers instead of brushing it off. Terrible experience. Had an appointment with Ernie who was recommended to me. To begin with he was 35 minutes late. Fine, it happens. But when I sat down He never acknowleged this or even my presence. When I inquired about acrylic nails he was immediately rude and I was told he only did the nexgen. So even though I didn't want nexgen I said fine. He started on my nails never once exchanging any pleasantries or giving me any eye contact. I felt so uncomfortable. I could not understand why I was being treated so badly. He proceeded to do my nails only speaking to ask me essential questions to which he mumbled through his mask and I had to ask him to repeat. The whole time he was fixated on his phone texting and reading incoming texts. I'm just upset with myself that I didn't get up and walk out. This behavior was unacceptable. But I sat there while he texted\worked on my nails. When he finished he said wash your hands and threw down the ticket. He never asked if I liked them, if I was satisfied, thank you, come back, nothing. The nails were okay but the service was horrible. There are dozens of other shops in Cookeville. It took them 30 mins to put me and my friend in a chair which is fine, then took them another hour to even start on our toe nails. They rushed quickly no massage no scrub for my feet nothing that comes along with what I'm paying for. I also wanted a manicure it's been 2 hours and I have no been acknowledged. Until this incident, I'd been a client for 4 years with Crystal; I was under the assumption I had a 12pm appointment (05/16/18), but was finally informed at 12:45pm that I would have to be rescheduled because she had a 1p and 2p appointment and then I was asked to come back at 3p. after I had sat there for 45 minutes. I asked if they could contact one of the pending clients to reschedule since I had already waited 45 mins and was on-site, but I was refused for no reason of my own doing... Honestly it's not as bad as I thought. This has been the only nail salon I've gone here in cookeville ( so I've been there multiple times). But last time I went (last Friday) I had the owner do my nails (Tommy) which I was very excited because he never did my nails before. But as he finished I was not completely in love with my nails, they looked like little eggs and the more that I see them now, the more I hate them. The aesthetician did not give a massage with my pedicure, had me move to a dirty station (polish dust and nail clippings everywhere), then proceeded to charge me $48 for what was supposed to be a $30 gel pedicure. If I could give less than one star I would. This place is very hit or miss. But my last service was for gel nails. I went back 2 weeks ago to have my gel nails redone. The girl that did my nails ask if they were gel and after I said yes. She didn't soak them off. She drilled them off! I was so stunned that I didn't say anything. She knew that the drill was hurting my nails and would put pressure on them and say it will stop in a minute. My nails were sore for several days and chipped within a couple of days. I called in advance to ask if they accepted walk ins and they told me yes. I went with that in mind and told them I just needed an acrylic fill in and they told me to have a seat. I sat there for an hour and 30 minutes, and as I was waiting other walk ins were being seated before me. I really don't know why, it's not like I was asking for anything special. I just needed a fill in and people with more "complicated" orders like fresh full sets and gel full sets were being seated before me. I have gone to Tommy's Nails for over 6 years. I have always been happy with the treatment I have gotten and I have no complaints of the products they use. Polite, courteous and awesome staff! I can only imagine how difficult the public is to work with, and some patrons do have irrational wishes and requests. Arriving 15 minutes before closing time, expecting a service is just crazy. NEVER AGAIN! DON'T DO IT! Wish I would've read these sick reviews prior to going! I agree with "LP" and would give ZERO stars if I could. My girls & I had pedi appts for 10:30. We sat there for over 30 minutes while they took 2 other ladies that walked in after us without appts. There are over a numerous pedi & mani chairs in there. All pedi chairs were full & no one was working on the ladies sitting in them with their feet in the [cold] water the half hour we were there. Appts are made for a reason! My daughter was there to get ready for a military ball & we didn't have the time to wait for a half hour plus or wait another half hour neglected in a chair.
