Came here today to get my sun Roof fixed it was a local shop that my insurance company uses, I was told my sunroof would be fedex to their store and after 5 days When I didn't hear from the store I called and was able to get an appointment the next day...my appointment was at 8 and I think I finished around 10? 10:30? The lady at the counter... carol scanned my registration and recommended Dunkin' Donuts near by I could sit and grab a bite at, I decided to walk to nearby dollar tree and managed to kill an hour, I took off one star because I can still hear some glass peices on the shade cover when I'm closing my sunroof it's rolling around up there and another star off cause the glue is just everywhere but I'm glad I don't have to use garbage bags to cover my roof anymore read more

As a new customer, I visited the shop three times in the past four months to service my beloved 14 year old Lexus RX 350 - my sun roof and ac compressor had leaks causing water damage inside my car, inspection, new brakes, two new tires and long overdue body repair on my front bumper and compounding exterior detail. I find their prices to be very fair. I learned more about my car from Paul and Jerry than any mechanic I have EVER been to! They took the time to show me what needed to be done and why. It was clear from the onset that they take great pride in their workmanship and that customer service is a priority. I found everyone - Carol in the office, Paul the owner and Jerry the head mechanic to be friendly, efficient and highly professional. I went to do my car inspection a few days ago and I almost got scammed over there. They asked me to pay $300 extra to do the tires and engines to pass the I inspection. My car didn't have any problems. Later, I went to another inspection, and I passed in 10 minutes. They can't do this type of business. If you do a long term business, you can try to scam or trick their customers. I would NEVER recommend this place to any of my friends. So, maybe that's why there are so many bad reviews. In addition, the person in the office (I think the person is the manager or the owner) is so rude to customers. They don't smile, and the attitude is like a king and he thinks of customers like peasants, he doesn't show any respect. Do not bring your car here for maintenance or repairs. They do not do the job properly and you will be back in a month with the same if not more problems and they will not do the repair again properly and tell you it occurred due to any other circumstance but them doing an improper job. When doing oil changes they don't flush out all of the old oil, I've had friends who maintain their car well missing pieces like screws they ordered from the manufacturer and replaced with cheap pieces by this shop. On one occasion a mate brought in their car for an inspection and left with a fucked up rotar. I've been going to Tommy's for over 8yrs now I'm knowledgable about cars and how they work. So I'd know if someone is trying to scam me. I've had the misfortune of hitting a pothole that broke my tirerod as well as some other suspension damage the entire staff treated me like family. They go the extra mile (no pun intended) to help me. When I need a regular maintenance done they never try to upsell me to get services I don't need. My car is now thirteen years old and even though it's very low mileage because of the age and driving on NYC streets she should drive like a 13 yr old car. Good car wash, but.. 1. Good car wash. Don't bring your car for anything else here. 2. NYS inspection: just get your car to pass, and leave, and don't listen for their maintenance advice 2. What these people do is borderline criminal. If you bring your car in for inspection, they will state that you are passing, and CASUALLY mention something like your rear brakes, belts, spark plugs will need to be replaced very soon. The reason I caught this is that I had just replaced my rear brakes on my car. 2 weeks later, I was told that within this month I needed to replace my brake pads again because they are almost worn out. I went back to the first place where I got the work done with questions. They showed me the brakes, and they were brand-new! It finally clicked, when I remembered that I got NYS inspection from the same exact place with my old car 7 years earlier, and they told me that my belts are worn to almost nothing, and it's a miracle that I haven't lost control of my car yet. I asked local residents around, and heard or experienced similar stories. I didn't call the cops, but could have easily. It's a miracle they are still in business. read more

I've been bringing my car here for the past 2 1/2 years. They've done everything from oil changes to repairs to maintenance. I just got my car back the other day from a full detail. I cannot tell you how disgusting it was before I brought it to them but when I got it back, it was like a new car! Went in for a NYS inspection and tire rotation - failed because of tires. I mean... if you knew my tires were dry rotting in the first place and I needed 4 new tires. The servicemen came out and helped us, and even gave the Camaro a good windshield swipe that took all the dust from the road. I came to Tommy's about a month ago because the AC in my Jeep Wrangler wasn't working. Over the last few weeks, the staff has gone above and beyond to find the parts needed to fix the problem. Because no one in the area had the parts, one of the mechanics, Jerry, ordered parts all the way from Michigan and Arizona and had them ready within just 4 days. Jerry also explained everything to me in detail about 100 times which was awesome and totally appreciated. I'm a personal chauffeur, and I visit this car wash almost every week to wash my boss' vehicle. I only visit this place because it's in the area. I have to say the service is terrible. You walk up to the counter to pay for your services and the woman who works there does not so much as say "Hello", look at you, or smile at all. Once I asked a worker if I could borrow a towel because they did not dry the car thoroughly. The owner cut in and stated that they don't give their towels to customers, and that I would have to buy a towel if I needed to dry my vehicle. I also once heard the owner say to an employee "You are going to be an idiot all of your life." He treats his customers terribly and his employees even worse. I went to Tommy's service center with check engine light on because I had my battery changed there in the past. I came to the receptionist and met this guy P**l, very nice guy, greets me and I told him I am here because I wanted to know why my engine light is on. He told the servicemen to give me a very general and "light" diagnostic test. I asked him was it for free, he said yes, because he believes I will be a "potential customer". After the test, code reads "engine misfire" and servicemen told me I have to do a complete tune-up of my car costing about $300-$400. P**l comes up to me and ask me if I wanted to get it fix today, so I said no thanks ( I wanted to go to other mechanics and see if I can get it fixed cheaper). Few weeks later, I received a call from P**l at Tommys asking how my car is doing, I told him I already had the problem fixed, and he started cursing and yelling at me over the phone saying how I tricked him to get a free diagnostic. I was totally in shocked, never expected he would call back, cursing and yelling at me for not getting the job done at their place. Horrible experience =( read more
