Our small group was very hungry and Tommy's fulfilled all of our orders quickly! I was so impressed with the quality of my salad--all the toppings made it unique and healthy. My other two coworkers enjoyed a sub (aka wedge) and a Reuben. My third coworker enjoyed her seafood salad. I've been a customer for more than 15 years - same with my mother and sister. We purchase coffee, breakfast sandwiches, chicken pot pies, sandwichs, cookies, muffins. Over the past years I've had several unpleasant experiences. I had to think about/consider what I wanted to say here. Let me start with Annie, the cashier, order taker, basically runs the the front if you will. Yesterday I stopped in to get a cup of coffee and egg/cheese/lettuce and tomato on a roll. I put the order in for the sandwich and then went to get my coffee - coffee was out - they were very busy for a beautiful Saturday morning. I went up to the front ,Annie to pay and let her know there's no more coffee. She snapped back at me "we're very busy" I'll get to it - quite angry with me. ok...was just letting you know. There were allot of customers coming in and she was clearly overwhelmed and trying to keep up. Finally, Tommy came out of the back - I thought, oh good -coffee will be up and running, I'll get my sandwich any minute and be on my way. NOPE. Yes, he helped with getting the coffee going - then one of his friends/buddies showed up - he immediatley took the order for he and his wife. (Of course) Now I've been there for going on 15 minutes. I tried to get Tommy's attention to simply hand me my sandwich that was one of about 15 orders being bagged up. He didn't hear me. ok, I finally get Annie's attention and she literally says to me "your sandwich isn't ready - you can see all these are before you - we're busy" and pointed at the tickets hanging above the grill. Now I'm aggrivated and just should have left but had already paid. And....what comes out about 5-8 minutes after his buddy ordered? Oh, their breakfasts delivered by none other than Tommy himself. FINALLY - he looks at me and says "have you been helped?" I said I ordered about 20 minutes ago and I have to get going. 1 lousy sandwich - very basic. Well here's the best.....Annie looks up at me and says "I'm sorry, I gave your sandwich to the lady that just left/checked out". Let me say - that customer had about 5-6 breakfast sandwichs ordered AFTER I ordered my 1 sandwich- and was now long gone. They quickly cook one up - hand it to me and I went to my car. I'm so glad I checked the sandwich because the egg was runny (which I can't eat) I go back in and say, I cannot eat this, now Annie is really put out with me and the cook and sandwich maker are upset. The only person in this now 30 minute debacle was the woman who was wrapping the sandwichs up once they came off the grill. She apologized and was so nice. In summary - this is 1 instance out of several over the last few years that I've had here. There have been a couple of other times that I was in this deli's complete chaos/ upset and snippiness. That brings me to Annie. Tommy, if you're reading this, Annie is 1 person - it's impossible to take phone orders that are normally quite large while a customer is in front of her waiting for their order/ time to pay etc. YOU are compromising customers who aren't your day in and day out buddies. What we are, are those customers that sustain you. Pay attention - look up and treat each of us with thanks. Oh, and as far as Annie - get her support/assistance. I'll never go back to your Deli - there's plenty more around. After several kicks in the teeth - I'm done. read more

I recently visited a few minutes ago and I hate to do this but I am really disappointed with the customer service. I placed an order for a steak and egg sandwich on a whole wheat toast with ketchup red onions tomato and jalapeño. About 10 mins ago. I arrived picked up my sandwich and I was already on my way to work. I opened it to see that the order was wrong. A friend of mine picked up lunch from Tommy's in white plains for me. I ordered a chicken cutlet hero, let, tom, onion and Chipotle mayo. Sandwich size was nice, but the rest was just average. I have no complaints, nor do I have compliments. Bread was average, along with average chicken cutlet with average fixings. This is not a sandwich which I would love to order again. If you are in the mood for a deli sandwich I would say Tommy's is what it is... Good, but not great - at least it will fill you up. At the advice of a coworker, I tried a sandwich from here, hero, wedge, sub...you decide on the name. It was well stuffed and the roll itself was obviously fresh. They have a variety of predetermined sandwiches and of course you can make your own combination. Parking can be a challenge but since my lunch hour tends to be a little later than most, I was able to grab a spot right in front. I had called in the order and it was ready when I got there. This place is so amazing! The staff here is very friendly, the area is very clean, and the food is great! I ordered a salad from your make your own salad bar. When it came out it was huge and it tasted amazing. I thought it was gonna cost me an arm and a leg but it was a very decent price. I imagine this place has a lot of "regulars" and I didn't order as swiftly as others. Took awhile to get someone's attention. Food was fine and enjoyed the soft roll that my sandwich was on, but the rest was nothing to write home about. That being said, other reviews state there are some great food options here. Tommy provides a great product and is quite delicious for a deli. Two issues that should be addressed. First is the prices are quite different from what is on the board versus what they charge. If you order via Uber Eats the prices are much less. Second, The quality of the food is great however the Asian cashier is absolutely rude and and uninviting. read more

I visit you guys six days a week. Your food is excellent. The eggplant Parmigiano, in particular, is fucking delicious, and you made me a salad to my specifications the other day that was just delightful in every way. However, you have some problems. The Asian woman, Annie, that works mostly in the mornings can be very, very rude and short with customers. I've frequented your establishment for 6 months, so I know what I'm talking about. When it's busy, especially, she is extremely flustered and often pretty nasty. My entire company stops there because it's extremely convenient to us because we are up the road, and we all agree she is extremely rude. The other problem is portions. I usually get decent portions from you guys, but there have been a bunch of times where your sandwiches are absolutely tiny and comedic for the prices you charge. I've mentioned this to the young, tall white guy who works in the evenings and he's always apologized and corrected it. The portions of turkey bacon seem to fluctuate between three and four pieces when ordered, and the prices seem to differ, especially between the Asian woman and the short white woman that works the weekends. And the white woman always charges way more. I hope you address these issues, because I do come there every day and I'm very tired of having to ask for extra portions just to match what I've been given before, and as a regular customer I am EXTREMELY tired of trying to figure out whether or not Annie is in a bad mood today or not. read more

I was torn between a 3 and a 4 because when it's on, this place is tasty, inexpensive and convenient (minus parking and seating, more in terms of quickness and flavor). I used to eat here regularly when I worked in White Plains, the salads are made to order and I used to enjoy them, but I more so enjoyed the hot food sections (broccoli, buffalo chicken, etc). I don't know if this place fell off a cliff since I've been there because I don't even recall some Asian lady at the counter and haven't really gotten bad service before, but sometimes the food can be described as "regular deli food" or "nothing special" so the horrible reviews are a bit strange to me. Terribly slow, inept and inefficient service. GUIDELINES FOR ORDERING: *SPEAK SLOWLY while ordering. *Enunciate all words. *Ask her to repeat it back to you. Example: Turkey, swiss and bacon on whole wheat toast = TURKEY BACON and swiss on toast. Even though, swiss was purposely said in between turkey and bacon. *Check your order once, twice, three times, MAYBE even four times BEFORE leaving the store. *If it isn't crowded and you can get close to the counter, lean over and watch them prepare it instead.
