Conveniently close to home, I've never had a reason to go anywhere else tbh. I appreciate that they always hand dry your car afterwards too, as opposed to just relying on the dryer. You know car wash dryers don't ever dry your car thoroughly enough. Also appreciate the fact that they provide you with free vacuums and there's no time limit. That doesn't mean hog it all to yourself though as there're only 3 vacuums lol. All in all, real unbeatable prices and service here. Barely washes the car. I like to use the vacuum for a quick clean. But today I went in and I have marks all over my car. When I went to let them know they acted like if I was the problem. They said it was "grease marks" then said it was already there before the wash!! They got really defensive and started acting like of what I was saying was absurd. This is probably the most inexpensive car wash you will find, and it definitely does the job! You can choose from the 3 different levels, ranging between $5 and $7 - so even if you get the highest quality one, it is still a great deal. Sometimes there is a bit of a line, but it never takes too long to get through it. A guy will come up to your window, you pay for the wash you want, and he puts a mark on your window so they know which one you paid for. Before you go in the drive thru, they spray down your car to get a bunch of the initial dirt off your car. Then, you go through! At the end, a couple guys dry off your car, which is also where you can tip. At this point, this is where I find this car wash to be a bit tricky. After they dry you off, you are pretty much pulling onto Santa Fe, which is fine if you don't want to take advantage of the free vacuum. But I've never been able to maneuver my way to the vacuums without completely leaving the cash wash, and pulling back in. This isn't the end of the world, just a bit inconvenient. I wonder if anyone else has this problem. But this being said, the vacuums are great and free, you just have to get one of the guys to turn them on for you. Instead of spending $20-30 dollars on one of those "old school" car washes, or half a day at Target looking for the right hose attachments to own wash (then get them home to realize the concept was much better on paper), zip on down to a Tommy Express Carwash near you. Unfortunately, I am not in the Long Beach area that much, but I happened to be driving by and found this gem right at the time my car looked like Los Angeles first tumbleweed rolling on the 405. Not only was it "exress" - they even included a hand dry at the end of the wash. While I am a big fan of express washes in general nowadays, the one normal gripe is the poor dry-job at the finish line. Not here! OK, I used to go to Bixby car wash all the damn time and spend around $20 or more for a wash. Sure you get your rims cleaned and all that but sometimes, actually most times you just want to get in and get out. You can do exactly that at Tommys! Pull up vacuum out your ride on your own and then pull around for the pressure washer spray down and a little bit of hand washing by Tommy and his crew. $7 on a M-F will get you free armor all on your tires! I will probably never stop going to Bixby for the hand wax and full on detail job but for a quick wash, I'm going to Tommys. read more

Definitely worth every penny! For the price of $5 and speedy service, you would think it would be one of those crappy express carwash places but not this one! They power wash your car before you go into the wash to wash away the big gunks. You go through the machine for about 3-4 minutes then there's an automatic air dry plus an additional hand dry by two guys at the end. From waiting in line including the carwash, I was there for a total of 14 minutes. Vacuums are also free if you pull around to the side if you have extra time. This place rocks! I went to get my car washed and there were 2 cars in front of me and it seriously only took like 5 mins. $5, $6, and $7 washes you can't beat it. They prep your car before you go into the wash with a scrub down, then you go through, then you air dry, then another guy hand drys what's left. All with great attitudes and super quick. it was my first time and I told the guy that I live not too far and I had heard good things and he gave me an extra stamp on my stamp card. Just had someone ram into me while on neutral on the conveyor belt . Extremely upset because they piled the cars up too close. The truck behind me admitted to hitting my car because of this. Two employees witnessed it happen and one of the employees in the front was accusing me of lying and saying it looked like the scratches on my bumper were already there when they clearly weren't. I had my car washed and the machine broke my side mirror. I told the guys there immediately and they processed to blame me, that my side mirror was already broken before I went in. I asked to speak with the owner, but they told me he wasn't there. They took pictures of my side mirror and I gave them my information. As of today, the owner has failed to contact me. Tommy's is a great place to get a carwash at a great price. The soap is lathered onto your car by hand by two guys who wear those giant mittens. After that your car goes through the automated process that puts more soap, mops around with giant strips of cloth, then has a bunch of wax dropped on it, and everything gets rinsed off. At the end two more guys hand dry your car's exterior by hand with towels. Vacuums are free and self service. You just need to get a guy to turn it on for you. You can do it before or after they wash. Prices are as follows: $5 - wash and rinse $6 - wash and rinse with sealer wax $7 - wash and rinse and undercarriage (M-Th this also includes free tire dressing) I guess you have to ask for a car wash stamp coupon, I did not get one. Only downside is they only have like 3 vacuums so you have to hope there isn't a lot of people when you go. read more

Took my car for a Works Wash yesterday which according to a sign includes tire dress. After the wash the guy waved me off and I opened the door, telling I paid for the Works wash which includes tire dress. He said no, two dollars. I said the sign says included and said no again two dollars. I gave him the middle finger salute and left. I will not visit this rip off place again! I didn't realize how great this place was until I went to other places. It is super cheap and the people here are really hard workers. It's a block away from work, so I come here whenever I'm too lazy to do it myself (which is a lot.) They pre-soap your car and get in all the nooks and crannies, tape down your windshield wipers and hand dry your car even after the machine blow dries it. Due to the popularity though, it does get quite crowded during peak hours and you usually have to hunt down someone to turn on the vacuums for you. read more

I was very optimistic about this car wash. I have a new 2014 BLACK car and was ready for my first car wash! It was very busy, but i went thru quickly (it stopped mid-way thru for a few minutes?). You go thru a mechanical system, and then you are out and two guys are drying your car. I asked where the vacuum was and the guy pointed me OUT of the parking lot. Upon further examination, i found them back in the lot, but i would have had to wait in line and try to navigate between cars to get in and out... no thanks! When i got back to my home, i saw LOTS of water spots (really visible on a dark car) and still spots of bird ^&**%)*&^ on the top of the car. What's worse, there seems to be a lot of 'micro scratches' on my car, maybe from the mechanical washing? I won't use them again with lots of other highly rated options out there. read more

The price is great at $5.00 plus they give you free vacuuming. Beware of 2 things: 1. The brushes stay dirty so beware if you have an expensive car. I have a piece-of-crap so it doesn't matter much. 2. The system does not clean well so check your car afterwards. If you are not satisfied, they will let you run through again. Tommy's was for many years my go-to 5 dollar car wash, or I guess now, 6 dollar car wash:) Sadly I've noticed the quality slide precipitously over the last 2 years. It's tough to complain about a discount car wash but if you need to spend a good five minutes after the wash is "done," asking the guys to wipe away dirt that they missed in their quick once-over, then maybe it's not so great anymore. But if you are going to go, try and head there during a slow time when the guys can give you a little more attention, so no Fridays, or weekends, and not around lunch hours when there's usually a line (from noonish-2pm). It's ok. They did a quick rub of my tires which were still dirty after the wash and dry. I found the vacuum to be very weak. It took a very long time to clean the inside of my car due to having to go over the same spots repeatedly (chip crumbs from my niece). For seven bucks I can't complain much. I would only come back here for quick touch ups etc. not a full wash. They say they accept credit cards but the guy was taking cash at the wash entrance. read more
