I know everyone jokes that we are locked in our apartments right now but recently I actually got locked inside my apartment. I couldn't find the key to the door anywhere. Our front door lock has been really flaky, and it got so bad you couldn't turn the handle. I was fortunate to find Tommy to help me solve this problem. Tommy responded quickly to my message through Yelp and we set up an appointment for two days later. He was able to take apart the lock and diagnose the issue quickly. He got it working better, but he needed some parts so he took some measurements and said he would look into it. He was very polite, and answered all my questions. He gave me a couple options and said that I didn't have to replace the lock. I asked him what I owed, and he said I could wait until he was able to find the parts. ACCIDENTAL RETURN CUSTOMER (THANK GOODNESS). I lost my car keys about 2 years ago while hiking and had used Tommy to replace. This past weekend, I lost my keys while hiking, yet again, called 3-5 locksmiths in the Bay Area who quoted me $250+ or said they couldn't quote until they visited my vehicle and then told me $300+ (which wasted both our times!). I was shocked. 2 years of inflation can't possibly jack up a common everyman Toyota Camry 2011 automatic/key ignition that much?! After having my spare keys on the kitchen table for six months, waiting for a day when I'd get around to finding a back yard hiding space...I locked myself out while rushing out to get coffee. Everyone told me I had to get a transponder key, and was charging an insane amount. I called Tommy and he quoted me two prices, incase it was not a transponder key.
