By far the very best pizza I've ever had. They have a signature sweet sauce. I'm not a fan of sweet stuff, but this sauce is amazing. My recommendation is to keep it simple with just a pepperoni pizza to truly savor the goodness of this pizza. Also they have great apps. Buffalo breadsticks are to die for. The building is really cute and definitely has an old school pizzeria feel to it. The bar has a great selection of beer and other adult beverages. Anytime I'm close to Hammond I stop in. Being from out of town, I've only come to this new(er) location a handful of times, but I will say, I enjoy the pub/pizzeria atmosphere, and the food is good. The times I've come, we've gotten an array of salads and pizzas. Oh, and you must get the buffalo breadsticks! We've gotten each time and they are killer. Cheese, chicken and this amazing creamy buffalo dipping sauce. I also really liked my Greek pizza with giros, olives, feta (and a few other things). It was very good, and the crust was light and fluffy. My friend always gets the Luna Rosa pizza, so I'd say that one's a sure bet. And, of course, you can always build your own. BEST pizza i've had in a while! They use a stone oven and cook the crust to crunchy perfection. I got the margarita pizza with the sweet sauce and it was absolutely delicious with the thin crunchy crust and the perfect amount of lite cheese. Only get To Go Orders.. This pizza has potential and when made properly is really good. The sweet and zesty sauce combined has great flavor. The sweet was great by it self but only for a slice or two. Like I said, we really enjoy the food here when it's prepared how we like it. I wish the chefs did a better job getting the crust crispier because it can most definitely be super floppy at times and everything just falls right off. Also I always feel like the pizza is tough to separate and never sliced properly. I'll try and asking for those things next time and see how it goes. 4 stars when done right. 2/3 when not. read more

Yesterday was my first time going to Tommy's, and I'm so upset I didn't know about it sooner. The food was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I both ordered custom pizzas and bacon cheese fries as an appetizer. The appetizer took a little long to come out, but it was worth the wait. We both had individual-sized pizzas and needed to-go boxes in the end. They give you so many options as far as choosing the crust, sauce, and toppings. tommy's is by far one of my most favorite restaurants perhaps ever. starting with the food, there is a plethora of amazing food here, ranging from the iconic sweet-sauce pizzas to other things like the alfredo or the cheesy bread. i'm graduating next year out of high school, and i've already made plans to enroll in southeastern, which isn't that far from tommy's. another thing i want to mention is the service. the waiters and waitresses are very nice and respectful and aren't like those other obnoxious ones at other mediocre restaurants. the ambiance of the whole establishment is nothing short of than sporty; if i had photos of the place, you'd understand. specifically, it's very reminiscent of louisiana sports. there's some lsu here and there, some saints here and there. the paintings on the wall are also things i'm interested in too. overall, tommy's is a solid 5-star establishment, and you can't change my mind. We have loved Tommys for yrs,! Started going there when they were on N. Morrison Blvd. Their veggie pizza is the best. But the last time we were there(abt 2 wks. ago) Very disappointed in the pizza dough. It was on a Fri. at noon. Not very busy, but saw several to go orders going out. The crust/dough was very gummy. Didn't say anything to our server. Fiirgured we would warm the leftovers later it it would be better. But it wasn't . I don't know anything about pizza dough, but it seems like the dough didn't rise or something was missing???? Will we go there again? Yes, but will be a while...... read more

My previous review (April or May, 2016) was glowing and 5 stars. Our recent visit was a disappointment. We ordered the thick crust pizza, which is usually our favorite. While parts of it were about 3/4" -  so thick it was doughy, other parts were only 1/8" thick and cracker-like. One bite of a piece might be thick and another crispy. To add insult to injury, it wasn't even hot when it  finally were served. To be fair the overall flavor of the pizza was up to their usual high standards. When I showed the waitress the extremes of the crust thickness, she just smiled and said " it just depends on where it is in the oven." After my look of surprise, she added that she would let the cook know and walked off. Hardly the response I'd expect from Tommy's staff. And no, we didn't want anything comped, just an acknowledgement that it was far from well prepared and an expectation that the problem would be addressed. read more

I ordered a Medium Luna pizza on Sunday from here on my way through Hammond to bring to lunch at my office for a few coworkers on Monday. Years ago when I lived there I loved going to Tommy's pizza. I will NEVER be going back again. I found an extremely large piece of glass in my pizza. Thank goodness I found it in the first slice (AFTER EATING A BITE) and no one else had the opportunity to eat it. The glass shard was about 1" long x 1/2" wide. VERY LARGE glass to miss going into a pizza. When I called the store to let them know, I asked to speak to a manager. Apparently they don't get there until 4pm. I was told all this AFTER I let them know that I found GLASS in my food. The worker on the phone seemed like they had -0 care that it happened. read more

On Friday we ordered a few hot items and a salad and were told the wait would be 1 hr 20 minutes. My grandfather arrived 10 minutes early to pickup and had to wait. When he got home (5 min away) we realized everything was cold and sauces were missing. On the receipt the name was 'Claude 8:30' which I took as a note to the kitchen to have the order ready for 8:30. Problem is, we placed the order at 7:30 and were told emphatically to pickup at 8:50. I was really disappointed and called the restaurant. The man I spoke with said he talked to his manager and they would replace the order for free and apologized for the inconvenience. Today we called in to pick up the replacement order around 5:30 pm on a Sunday and the wait was going to be an hour. I have no problem waiting, but I explained what had happened on Friday and that the food had sat around, gotten cold and that they had overestimated the wait. He assured me that this would not be the case. Again, we arrived early. This time the food was not cold ... because it had clearly been reheated. The muffuletta was burnt and dried out and the pizza was so dry and hard its inedible. Why offer a free replacement meal if you're not going to make it well? The point is to win back the business of the customer, not reinforce that there is a persistent problem. Something has definitely changed in the kitchen and their timing is totally off. Bummer because we really loved Tommy's but won't be getting takeout from them anymore. read more

Tommy's is Tommy's. The wait is always long, don't go here if you are in a hurry. The food is usually good and I love the sweet sauce they use for their pizza sauce, but some times the wait just isn't worth it. Lately I've heard more and more people suggest going to Commodores Pizza over Tommy's. Last time I was in Tommy's they were nearly out of everything on their menu, besides pizza. I've been eating at Tommy's on and off since it opened. The atmosphere is certainly the best feature about this restaurant. If you dine on a busy night, like Thursday, there's often live music and pitcher deals. It's a great place to bring friends, eat and drink. There's also a full bar and delicious custom martinis. The iced tea is well brewed. The food here used to be stellar. I regret to say that it is just now mediocre. At one time this location and the original Tommy's had the best pizza in town. Now it's just okay at a premium price. The service is adequate. The food takes a while, but, hell, it's a pizza and it's got to cook. The ladies bathroom is small, dark, and not very clean. We waited an hour to get a pizza and two salads!! absolutely ridiculous I'm pretty sure our waitress didn't even put in our order until I had to go up to her because she wouldn't come to our table for 20 minutes. This is the second time that I have been to Tommy's, and the food was just as good as it was the first time we went. The service was ok, we were there at peek time on Sunday so I expected it to be busy. I ordered the Greek pizza, it is a thin crust pizza with spinach, cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, olives, feta and mozzarella cheese. It was fantastic. I'm not sure what is going on at Tommy's, but I am very disappointed in my most recent trip. It took almost an hour for my food to come out, and when it did it was cold. My server never got me a refill or the silverware I asked for. Also, once I got home to eat my meal the crust on my calzone was gross compared to what it used to be, AND the bottom was completely burned. I've been eating at Tommy's since 2008, so that is why they got the other star. So disappointing. Hopefully they figure out their issues. read more

If I could rate Tommy's lower than one star I would. Save yourself the disappointed, time and money... The last visit we made to Tommy's we had TWO roaches crawl across our extremely sticky table. As if that wasn't bad enough we had already been served two very dirty glasses of water and were waiting over 45 minutes for two small appetizers in a restaurant that wasn't even half full. Our waitress was incredibly rude and spent more time chatting with the bar than checking on any of her tables. When our entrees finally arrived the lasagna was ice cold and the pizza was burnt. Tommy's used to be phenomenal, the place to go if you wanted good food in Hammond. Now it's the place to go if you need to lose ten pounds thanks to food poisoning. read more

Went there the day after Thanksgiving, said they were not serving pasta dishes, pizza only. Ordered a pizza that was good last time we were there. Absolutely horrible. Worst pizza ever! Had not returned until 5/21/19. Again, was told they were not serving anything that required prep work, i.e., pasta dishes, appetizers or even chicken wings. Only serving dishes which could be made in the pizza oven. So, ordered pizza again. After ordering pizza, waited 45 minutes at 2pm in an empty restaurant. Received the worst pizza I have ever had. VERY RUDE!!!!! A few days ago i made an order for a half order of breadsticks. Before taking my order she told me it was gonna be an hour wait & i told her that was fine. A hour later after i got there i STILL had to wait 25 more minute before receiving my order for only a HALF order of breadsticks. When i went inside i was not acknowledged by any waitresses. They moved around me like i wasn't even standing there! A "we will be right with you" would've been much better. Maybe it was my color of skin that offended them that they didn't feel like they had to. Now today i called at 9pm trying to place my previous order again a hour before they're closing. She told me that the kitchen was closing early & they weren't taking anymore orders. Usually restaurants stop taking orders 30-15 minutes before closing. I asked to speak with a manager & she wanted to know the reason. Usually when someone asks to speak to a manager u lead them straight to the manager so i didn't feel like i needed to explain my reasoning why to her. So this time she claims manager had an emergency & had to close early. I feel like it was bs but if i would've heard it from the manager myself i would've had a more better clear understanding. After i said thank you she proceeded with goodbye & hangs up. If it wasn't for their food they wouldn't be very far but i can say the bartender was very polite & i was very understanding & patient because i know she was busy & still maintained her manners. read more

This is a hard review to write. The food here is awesome! If you want the authentic experience, order your pizza with the original, sweet sauce that made this place famous so many years ago, but be prepared - it's like no pizza sauce you've ever had. Don't overlook the other dishes on the menus. Chicken picatta to die for! Now the hard part. The service here is abysmal. Often, there is no one at the hostess stand. They are often understaffed and most of the wait staff has a terrible attitude. Don't bother asking for a manager. They care even less. They desperately need a strong front-of-house manager and overhaul. I guess they're too busy scooping up money to bother. That being said, the food is so damn good, you usually have to wait for a table at peak hours. About 4-5 times a year, we suck it up and go, despite the service. read more

Tommy's is alright if you don't get glass in your pizza. We eat there alot and have not had too many issues. They got rid of their chicken wings, which was the best thing on their menu and replaced it with chicken tenders :( . Strike one! The specialty pizzas are good and they are not too pricey, unless you order a to go order and they charge you a few dollars extra for making it easy on them. Strike two. I had an appointment in Ponchatoula later in the afternoon and my 6yo son wanted to go someplace different for pizza. Living in Baton Rouge, that's asking a lot with so few places most very good to get pizza. So I looked what was near my destination and found this delightful little place not far off the beaten path. One aside that's nice about little towns like Hammond, no parking meters. Woohoo! For a big town guy like me, I like quaint towns that haven't figured out how to make revenue from visitors or it's residents. If you're travelling through on the I-12, this place is easy to find and well worth driving past the fast food places and literally go the extra mile up the road to go here for lunch or dinner. They wouldn't seat my son and I at a booth because we were just two people. I walked out of Fred 62 on Vermont in Silver Lake, CA because they did this to me, I figured I drove so far to Tommy's I wouldn't do that here. It was a little of a let down for the little one especially since they weren't even 33% full capacity. I was there at 2 pm on a Saturday. Nonetheless we were sat at a little table for 2 by the window. My son got the kids pizza with pepperoni and pineapple added, and I got a 1/2 Greek salad with shrimp and chicken added to it. (my diet). My son's pizza was awesome, pepperoni was baked into the layers of cheese, I had to ask if it was on there as it looked like a cheese pizza. My salad came about 5 minutes later and the shrimp were huge and freshly grilled, and 3 huge pieces of grilled chicken on a bed of spinach greens and well done home made salad dressing, crushed olives. (I had them hold the feta cheese). Our server was Hannah, she was very nice and was waiting the few tables around us. I know one person commented on slow service, but I have to object, if you want speedy service, go some place like the East Coast where that's expected. I've found in general that Louisiana as a whole moves at a slower pace on a larger scale, no offense, just an observation. Just try driving here or waiting at the average traffic light. My average analogy of a slow transaction or service will be "as slow as a Baton Rouge Traffic light". They were a bit slow, but it was a lazy Saturday afternoon, and it goes with the vibe of the town. If you're in a hurry, then go to the fast food place, if you want quality service and quality food, and quality time to enjoy eating food and enjoying life and good people, then come here. Across the street was a Strawberry Beignet place, so when I'm off my diet, I'm going back for pizza and dessert as a treat, it was 54 minutes out of my way, and totally worth the drive. I highly recommend it for any foodie who wants something different and doesn't mind the journey getting there. Too bad they don't open one up on Baton Rouge. read more

I haven't had a bad experience at Tommy's until today. Upon walking in, there were a few people at the bar and maybe five tables with patrons. There were six employees watching us walk in, and none of them bothered to greet us or seat us. At this point, since they weren't busy, we assumed there was open seating tonight. Much to our surprise, we were given a rude look by all of the employees and asked to wait to be seated. The girl walked away back to the other employees and again, they looked while we waited for another 5 minutes. Absolutely no reason for this. The host sat us without regard for whether we could see the TV or not (its NFL Sunday, we would have liked to see a game). He walked away briskly. We had to ask someone else to move us since this guy ran away so quickly. Once being seated again, our waitress was very short with us, and seemed to be frustrated when we asked for a drink menu. 20 minutes later, we finally got the beer we ordered. It was lukewarm. Keep in mind, there's only 6 other customers in here at this point. The food was brought out promptly (thanks kitchen crew!), so we ate quickly as they were cleaning and we felt like we were in their way. Since Brady's (our favorite restaurant) was closing, we chose Tommy's tonight and likely won't make that choice again. read more

Downtown Hammond may not be a culinary hotbed, but there are a few worthy options. One of which is Tommy's on Thomas. As virtually every other reviewer has stated, the buffalo cheese bread is a must! Three of us shared a half order, which was plenty. Especially, if you're going to follow it up with an entree, like we did. Chicken Caesar salad for one of us and individual combination pizzas for the other two. All good! I was warned that the pizza sauce is sweet, and it is. Perhaps a bit too sweet for my taste, but a pretty good pie, and loaded with toppings. I did notice that they offer other pizza sauce options, as well as a good selection of pasta choices. Something for everyone to enjoy in a chill bar-like setting. The service was on the slow side, but we weren't in a huge rush, so not an issue today. I rarely eat Pizza Hut when I do we go to Tommy's. It's always packed and the wait is always long regardless if you are seated promptly or not. We walked in on this visit and it was very hot inside- to the point I began to collect moostjre on my lip. I asked he hostess if they thought it was warm.
